Overview
Total achievements: 36 +1 (37, but last one is given for obtaining previous 36)
Total playthroughs needed : 1
Achievements that can be missed: 0

This game's achievements list is fairly straight-forward, and you do not need to worry about anything else for when you're playing through the main story as there as no missable achievements, so enjoy yourself!

Every single area and collectible can be revisited and retrieved from the post-game free roam. It is also encouraged that you explore as much as you can and complete as many favors, treasure hunts, and labors as possible during your first playthrough, since you will need a ton of EXP and Hacksilver to fully upgrade yourself and your equipment. Lastly, since there are no difficulty related achievements, you can play on any difficult you feel most comfortable with, but some of the challenges you will face later in the game will be significantly less difficult by lowering the difficulty to easy.

There are two significant things that you should be sure to take note of during your main story journey: appropriately leveling yourself, gearing up with the best armor you can get, and opening as many Nornir chests as you can find. One of the best armor sets that you can get before finishing the main story can be earned from Brok and Sindri, the two travelling blacksmiths, as a reward for completing their fifth favor (See Like Oil and Water for more information). As for the Nornir chests, they are the large chests with three runes inscribed on them. This means you will have to destroy three objects to open it, or you will have to throw your Leviathan Axe at three objects in quick succession. Finding and opening Nornir chests is the only way to upgrade your health and rage bars, so it's best to upgrade them as much as you can, as early as you can (See Quick Tempered for more information).

Stage 2: End Game and Collectibles

After you have finished the main story, you should focus on gathering any missed collectibles, as well as clearing out the end game content. As soon as you finish the game, you will learn about eight Valkyries spread across the realms, and you will need to kill them all, including the ninth Queen Valkyrie, who is by far the hardest boss in the game (See Council of the Slain for more information). You will also have to fully upgrade your Leviathan Axe and Blades of Chaos to the highest level, which wasn't possible until after finishing the main story. Refer to Worthy along with Why Fight It? for more information on how to fully upgrade them efficiently.

As for collectibles, refer to each of the collectibles respective achievements below. There is a decent amount of collectibles spread throughout the game, but following the guides provided will make them trivial to find and collect.

Stage 3: Side Quests and Clean Up

There's a good chance that you might have a fair amount of these achievements before reaching this stage, but in case you don't, this is where you will spend time to pick up the remaining misc achievements. Make sure that you aren't missing any collectibles, upgrades, or gear, and be sure to explore every area, free every Dragon, and complete every favor for the Wayward spirits spread around the Lake of Nine.

Once you complete 36 achievements - last one will appear as bonus

The Journey Begins
Defend your home from The Stranger

This achievement will be earned upon completing the introductory journey, "The Marked Trees".

Kratos and Atreus will begin their journey by hunting for some deer to prove that Atreus is ready for their journey to the top of the mountain. After defeating the massive troll at the end of their hunt, Kratos and Atreus return to their home only to be greeted by a stranger who taunts Kratos by claiming he knows who and what he truly is, and Kratos swiftly gets into a battle with them. Once Kratos defeats the stranger, he returns to Atreus and promptly begins their journey.

A New Friend
Survive the Witch’s Woods

This achievemewill be earned during the journey "Path to the Mountain".

Further down the line in Kratos and Atreus' journey to the top of the mountain, the two will have an unlikely run-in with a Witch who wants nothing more than to heal a rare breed of boar that Atreus used as target practice. Shortly after sending Atreus away to gather ingredients for a solution, the Witch informs Kratos that she is well aware of his godlike status, and that he, as well as Atreus are in great danger if they remain in this realm. Shortly before saying their goodbyes, the Witch expresses her gratitude for helping her heal the boar by offering a spell to make it harder for Kratos and Atreus to be tracked down by any foes, as well as creating a compass, making it easier to navigate the realm.

Feels Like Home
Allow the Light Elves to return home

This achievement will be earned during the journey "The Light of Alfheim".

After reuniting with the Witch, she explains that all nine realms are connected, and can be accessed from the bridge on the lake. In order to progress past the mysterious black fog near the mountain base, Kratos and Atreus will have to visit Alfheim and secure its Light to use to disperse the black fog. Upon destroying the hive and securing the Light of Alfheim, tension will be high between Kratos and Atreus, but they learn that they can use the Light to their advantage with Atreus' bow. After leaving the hive, Kratos and Atreus learn that they inadvertently helped the Light Elves, who had once been driven out of their home during a war, and finally get to return.

Dragon Slayer
Defeat the Dragon of the Mountain

This achievement will be earned during during the journey for "Inside the Mountain".

Now that the black fog can be dispersed using the Light taken from Alfheim, Kratos and Atreus make their way back up to where they left off on their path up the mountain. Scaling the mountain proves to be difficult for the two, as there are several mine shafts and cave systems to progress through before Atreus figures out a way to ascend to the summit using a makeshift elevator. Just as they were about to reach the surface, a legendary Dragon made an appearance and ends up terrorizing Sindri, Brok's brother and former business partner. Both Kratos and Atreus agree that they need to take it down. Once the Dragon is killed, Atreus is awarded with a useful tool that allows even more pathways to be opened. Kratos and Atreus continue their journey to the mountain summit as soon as possible.

Troubling Consequences
Defeat Magni and Modi

This achievement will be earned during the journey for "The Magic Chisel".

After learning that the mountain Kratos and Atreus spent so long trying to get to the summit of wasn't actually the highest point in the realm, they set their sights on two things: a secret travel rune to Jotunheim, and a piece of a magic chisel to carve it with. Upon reaching the destination of the magic chisel, Mimir expands on the terrible tragedies that both Thor and Odin are willing to make happen. Going so far as to killing the Giant, the greatest smith the world has ever seen, and the original owner of the magic chisel. Once Kratos and Atreus reach the magic chisel, they're greeted by Magni and Modi, sons of Thor. They are dead set on settling the score with Kratos. After a lengthy battle, and Atreus slowly losing his temper, Kratos kills Magni with no mercy, and Modi runs away in fear. In light of him losing control on his emotions, Atreus' "sickness" returns, and it worries both Kratos and Mimir sincerely.

Hello, Old Friend
Retrieve the Blades of Chaos

This achievement will be earned during the journey for "The Sickness".

Using the new magic chisel they found, Kratos and Atreus make their way back to the Lake of Nine and enter Tyr's Vault to carve the secret travel rune to Jotunheim. Kratos and Atreus share a touching moment before being interrupted by none other than the remaining son of Thor, Modi. Atreus ends up pushing himself over the edge and feints after an uncontrollable surge of anger. Kratos, with his son unconscious, channels his Spartan rage to defend himself and Atreus against Modi, who flees yet again. Midir informs Kratos that Freya is the only person who can help save Atreus from this incredibly dangerous illness, and they swiftly make their way to her abode. Upon arrival, Freya agrees to help and tells Kratos that he needs to travel to Helheim in order to gather special materials that are essential to saving Atreus. She also informs Kratos that his weapon, the Leviathan Axe, will be useless in Helheim, and he will need some kind of an alternative. Kratos makes his way back to his home to dig up a past that he had buried and hidden for so long, the Blades of Chaos, and he will do whatever it takes to save his son.

Promise Fulfilled
Heal Atreus

This achievement will be earned during the journey for "The Sickness".

After successfully infiltrating Helheim and stealing the bridge guardian's heart, Kratos swiftly returns to Freya in order to heal Atreus. Kratos is very happy to see his son healthy again, but he knows that he will need to reveal the truth, and his past to Atreus to make sure that this never happens again.

Round 2
Rescue Atreus

This achievement will be earned during the journey for "Return to the Summit".

After brief moments of a genuine father-son relationship that Atreus was always hoping for, he lets the fact that he is a god go to his head, and it causes him to act incredibly recklessly and unkindly. Kratos becomes progressively more disappointed the closer they get to the mountain summit, and this becomes very apparent after they run into Modi one last time, and Atreus kills him against Kratos' wishes. Tensions are very high between Kratos and Atreus, yet again, and they reach the summit without any further trouble. As they catch a glimpse of the highest peak in the world, Baldur appears to settle the score with Kratos and steal away Atreus from him. After an intense battle spanning from the mountain summit back to the Lake of Nine, they end up accidentally landing themselves into Helheim, where they get momentary silence as they try to find a way to escape.

Story related achievements
Past Haunts
This achievement will be earned during the journey for "Escape from Helheim".

Kratos and Atreus, after some serious moral conflicts, reluctantly put their differences aside to work together as they end up crashing their way back into Helheim after an intense battle with Baldur. Atreus realizes he is getting far, far too full of himself, and doesn't want to see his father disappointed in him any further. Kratos and Atreus work together to find a way out of Helheim using a newly crafted airship, but Atreus' quick thinking saves them from facing death. Now that both Kratos and Atreus are level-headed again, and reforged their father-son bond, they search for a new way to reach the highest peak in the realms.

Twilight Beckons
Defeat Baldur

This achievement will be earned during the journey for "Jotunheim in Reach".

After solving Tyr's great puzzle, Kratos and Atreus run into a problem involving not being able to access the Jotunheim passage because Midir is missing his second eye. So they call upon the World Serpent to enter his stomach in order to find Midir's eye, as it ate the statue that held Midir's eye in a secret compartment. They fortunately retrieve the missing eye for Midir, but are abruptly interrupted on their way out of the World Serpent's stomach, and are sent flying outside. As it turns out, Baldur was behind the disturbance, and just as he was about to pick a fight with Kratos yet again, he sees his mother for the first time in a lifetime, Freya. After accidentally getting rid of Baldur's spell to make him invulnerable by utilizing the green arrows that Freya deemed too dangerous, Kratos sets his sights on finally killing Baldur for good. An emotional battle takes place, as Freya tries her best to protect Baldur and Kratos from killing each other, but Kratos comes out on top. Kratos shows Baldur mercy and attempts to leave, but not before Freya decides to allow Baldur to kill her if it means granting him happiness. Saving Freya's life, Kratos snaps Baldur's neck and kills him for good. Freya is uncontrollably angry, the only kind of anger a parent could express at the sight of their child lifeless, and swears to bring down hell onto Kratos and Atreus for what they have done. After both parties take their silent leave, they debate whether they made the right decision. Who's really the bad guy here?

Last Wish
Spread the ashes

This achievement will be earned during the journey for "Mother's Ashes".

It has been an extremely long and emotionally strenuous journey for Kratos and Atreus, but they manage to fulfill their promise to Faye and reach Jotunheim to spread her ashes across the highest point in the all the realms. It is revealed the Faye, who is actually a Giant, knew all along about Kratos and Atreus' journey, everything that was going to happen, and everything that had to happen. Kratos also catches a glimpse of a forthcoming untimely demise, but he acknowledges it as if he saw it comes many, many years ago. Once Atreus and Kratos reach the peak, they spread Faye's ashes together, and they disperse into the sky. Atreus learned that, when reading the walls from before, his name was supposed to be Loki, but was instead named after a warrior who inspired hope in happiness even in the worst of times, Atreus of Sparta. There are many questions that could be asked, and could be answered, but ultimately, Kratos and Atreus finished their journey against all odds, a journey they will surely never forget. After a fitting and borderline heartwarming conclusion to their journey, they talk and reminisce on their way back to the Tyr's temple, and wonder about what awaits them in their next journey as partners, and most importantly, as father and son.

=== END OF STORY ACHIEVEMENTS ===
Dwarven Ingenuity
Upgrade a piece of armor

Upgrading your armor can be done during any visit to either Brok or Sindri's shop, assuming you have enough Hacksilver and materials to forge your new and improved armor. For this achievement, you simply have to choose any piece of armor you want, and upgrade it a single time. It's encouraged that you wait until you have a stronger piece of armor before upgrading it, as most of the beginner sets or pieces will become less than optimal as you progress through the game.
Beneath the Surface
Explore all the Lake of Nine has to offer

The Lake of Nine is essentially the hub of the world, and you will be revisiting it a lot throughout the game to progress the story, as well as completing favors and exploring every area. For this achievement, you will have to fully explore all of the Lake of Nine, meaning you will have to defog just about all of it from the map, and you will have to visit every area within it at least once.

You could easily get this by exploring naturally or when completing favors, but you could also keep track of each area you've been to and need to visit by referring to each of the collectibles guides (See Silver Curator for more information).

Note: If the achievement doesn't unlock when defogging all areas in the list below, you will need to travel through a Mystic Gateway which should cause the achievementto unlock upon reaching any chosen destination.

Here is a list of every area required for this achievement:
Stone Falls
The Mason's Channel
Veithurgard
Buri's Storeroom
Cliffs of the Raven
Lookout Tower
Isle of Death
Iron Cove
Forgotten Caverns
Ruins of the Ancient
Light Elf Outpost
Click on image below to see the the minimum amount of defogging of the Lake of Nine required to unlock this achievement.
Death Happened Here
Fully explore Veithurgard

This achievementmay, or may not be glitched. If you are unable to get this achievement by using both of the methods provided, try beginning a new game (it's worth trying to reload an earlier save too, just to be sure) and getting to Veithurgard again, clear the area and reach the end by killing the mini-boss and opening the chest. Some players mentioned that it requires all collectibles in Veithurgard to unlock this achievement, and some say that you simply need to reach the end of the area and defog it all. Other players don't need all collectibles, and simply got the achievement after exploring it entirely and opening the chest at the end of it.

Veithurgard is one of many areas that will be accessible as you play through the story, since the water in the Lake of Nine will continuously get lower the more you progress. You can enter Veithurgard after the water becomes lowered for the second time, and the massive gate located North East from the center of the lake can be opened by a switch next to the water wheel on the cliff side.

Veithurgard hosts several quests in the area that you can do in the meantime, but your main goal for this achievement is to fully explore the area and defog it from the map entirely. Aside from the chained Dragon and an Orge mini-boss at the end of the area, there are no real threats in the area, and you will only have to go through a few areas before you have covered all grounds. Once you have explored all of what Veithurgard has to offer, you should unlock this achievement shortly after you open the chest following the Orge mini-boss.

Click on image below to see the the minimum amount of defogging of the Veithurgard required to unlock this achievement.

Enchanted
Slot an Enchantment into your armor

Enchantments are convenient ways of adding unique perks and buffs to Kratos and Atreus' when socketed with a piece of your equipment, and you can find Enchantments from both combat and exploring areas. For this achievement, you simply need to socket any Enchantment with any piece of armor you want. You can view and apply any of your Enchantments by accessing the "Armor" tab at the top of the pause menu.
Worthy
Fully upgrade the Leviathan Axe

The Leviathan Axe is the default weapon that Kratos will be equipped with alongside his shield at the beginning of the game. For this achievement, you will need to upgrade the Leviathan Axe to level six at any shop in the game. Materials known as "Frozen Flames" are required to upgrade the Leviathan Axe, and they are dropped from main story bosses, so they cannot be missed. If you were to forget to pick up one, you can always retrieve it by going to the "Lost Items" section in any of the shops.

Once you've completed the main story, you'll only be able to upgrade the Leviathan Axe to level five at the highest by using the Frozen Flames you've gained. To reach the highest level, level six, you will need a rare material called a "Chilling Mist of Niflheim", and it can only be obtained by opening the chests at the Workshop's central chamber in Niflheim (see Darkness and Fog achievement guide for more information).

Once you have opened enough of the central chamber chests and earned the Chilling Mist of Niflheim, you will need to return to either Brok or Sindri and go to the "Buy" section. Under that select "Resources", and from there you will be able to trade in your Chilling Mist of Niflheim for one more Frozen Flame, which will allow you to fully upgrade the Leviathan Axe.
Trilingual
Learn the languages of Muspelheim and Niflheim

Language Ciphers can be found in the foggy purple chests that are spread all over the map, and you are required to find at least 8 of them in order to earn this achievement. You will learn the language for Muspelheim upon opening your first four of these chests, and once you open another four chests you will learn the language for Niflheim. While there is one missable chest when you are able to explore the World Serpent's stomach during a main story quest, there are more than enough needed to learn the languages of Muspelheim and Niflheim.

Note: Depending on which chests you open, you may end up learning the language of Niflheim before you learn Muspelheim or vice versa.

Since there are more than the eight required to learn both languages, the remaining chests will have crafting materials and other fairly rare items and equipment when you open them. Muspelheim and Niflheim are both end-game stages of the game, so it isn't recommended to complete them until after you've finished the story. However, you can find very good gear in both of these places as a consolation.

Nice Moves
Obtain a Runic Attack Gem

Runic Attack Gems are essential ways of becoming stronger by applying upgrades to your weapons that provide buffs and new combat abilities. For this achievement, you will have to simply find and apply your first Runic Attack Gem. There are plenty of different Runic Attack Gems for both of your light and heavy attacks spread throughout the game, so you will have no trouble finding them. Upon finding your first one, simply apply the Runic Attack Gem during the menu tutorial, and you will unlock the achievement.
The Best Moves
Fully upgrade a Runic Attack

You must fully upgrade any Runic Attack Gem in order to obtain this achievement. Throughout your journey, you will find plenty of Runic Attack Gems. As well as unlocking Bronze Nice Moves for finding your very first Runic Attack Gem, this achievementcan be achieved with minimal effort.

In order to fully upgrade a Runic Attack Gem, you will need to reach level three, and this requires a fair amount of EXP. Weaker Runic Attack Gems will require far less EXP to upgrade than the more powerful ones, so you can always save your game, fully upgrade a weaker one to unlock the achievement, and then reload your previous save from a moment ago.

In the pause menu, select a weapon and then choose either the light or heavy runic attack slot for that weapon. You'll have to upgrade it a couple of times for it to become fully upgraded.

Why Fight It?
Fully upgrade the Blades of Chaos

The Blades of Chaos are the trademark weapons from the God of War series, and you will unlock them by playing the main story. For this achievement, you will need to fully upgrade the Blades of Chaos to level five at any shop in the game. Materials known as "Chaos Flames" are required to upgrade the Blades of Chaos, and they are dropped by main story bosses, so they cannot be missed. If you were to forget to pick up one, you can always get it back by going to the "Lost Items" section in any of the shops.

After completing the main story, you will be able to upgrade the Blades of Chaos to level four at the highest, by using the Chaos Flames you've gained. To reach level five and upgrade it to the max, you will need a rare material called a "Raging Inferno of Muspelheim", which is only dropped after killing the Valkyrie in Muspelheim (See Gold Chooser of the Slain and Bronze Trilingual for more information).

After defeating the Valkyrie and picking up the Raging Inferno of Muspelheim, you will need to return to either Brok or Sindri and go to the "Buy" section. Under that select "Resources", and from there you will be able to trade in your Raging Inferno of Muspelheim for one more Chaos Flame, allowing you to fully upgrade the Blades of Chaos.
All Will Fall
All Will Fall
Kill 1,000 Enemies

Simply kill 1,000 enemies, and you will unlock this achievement. Unless you are avoiding all non story-related battles, then you will definitely get this by just playing the game normally and exploring. If you wish to keep track of how many enemies you have killed, refer to the "Wages of War" labor in the "Goals" section of the pause menu, as you will be rewarded with EXP for killing 250, 500, and finally, 1,000 enemies.
The Truth
Read all of the Jötnar shrines

As you progress through the game, you will come across large wooden shrine curtains that open on the left and right side, these are Jotnar shrines, and their purpose is serving as an important way of telling the Lore for the game. For this achievement, you will need to read all eleven of the Jotnar shrines. Below is a video guide for each of the Jotnar shrine locations.

Primordial
Obtain Ancient armor set
For this achievement, you'll need to craft the Legendary armor for the Ancient, which consists of one chest piece, one wrist piece, and one waist piece. You'll need a hefty amount of materials and Hacksilver to create the full set, and half the materials needed can only be obtained from a single enemy type: Ancients. You can earn materials from any elemental Ancient, stone, forest, fire, or frost.

Ancients are massive creatures with rocks covering their entire body, with their chest being illuminated. They are typically passive, but they will put up a fight if you pick one. Once you've killed your first Ancient and looted their remains, you will unlock a crafting specific labor called "Hearts of Stone", in which you will have to bring the materials you just picked up to either Brok or Sindri. After doing that, you will be able to craft the complete Ancient armor set. Upon crafting the final armor piece, the achievement will unlock.

It will take several Ancient kills to get the materials required to craft the entire armor set, and while you can find plenty all over Midgard, if you keep progressing in the story, you will come across the required amount naturally. Once you have the items required, head to Brok or Sindri's shop and craft the following pieces of armor.

For this achievement, you'll need to craft the Legendary armor for the Traveler, which consists of one chest piece, one wrist piece, and one waist piece. You'll need a hefty amount of materials and Hacksilver to create the full set, and half the materials needed can only be obtained from killing a single enemy type: Travellers.

Travelers are pretty hard to miss, as they're equipped with massive swords and shields, as well as have their entire body covered in armor, and will surely put up a good fight. Once you've killed your first Traveler and looted their remains, you will unlock a crafting specific labor called "The Road Less Traveled", in which you will have to bring the shard you just picked up to either Brok or Sindri. After doing that, you will be able to craft the complete Traveler armor set. Upon crafting the final armor piece, the achievementwill unlock.

Breastplate of the Traveler (Chest) - 16,400 Hacksilver, 5 Traveler's Armor Shard
Gauntlets of the Traveler (Wrist) - 12,800 Hacksilver, 18 Traveler's Grisly Trophy

Best Dressed
Craft an outfit for Atreus

Throughout the game you will meet two travelling merchants, Brok and Sindri, who lend a helping hand by letting you upgrade your equipment and craft new gear. For this achievement, you simply have to craft any single outfit for Atreus. While this can be achieved at any point in the game where you have access to a shop, there's a good chance that you will be able to get this achievement after your first encounter with Brok very early into the game, since it doesn't require too much Hacksilver or materials to create the first outfits available.

Allfather Blinded
Kill all of Odin’s Ravens

Odin's Ravens are brightly green colored ravens that you will see and hear in all sorts of areas, some being much trickier to find than others. For this achievement, you will need to kill all 51 of them. You can always refer to the statistics you have on the "Map" screen of the main menu to check how many of Odin's Ravens you might be missing in each area, too. Below is a video guide for every one of Odin's Ravens.

You will unlock this achievement once you have collected enough Idunn Apples to fully max out Kratos' health bar.

See Quick Tempered achievement description below for more information.
Quick Tempered
Fully upgrade your rage

In order to fully upgrade both Kratos' health and rage bars, you must find at least eighteen Nornir chests and solve their puzzles to gain access to their contents. Inside the Nornir chests, you will find an Idunn Apple which is used to upgrade your health, or a Horn of Blood Mead which is used to upgrade your rage. The contents of each Nornir chest are not randomized, so you can always come back and find the specific ones you might need later if need be.

Each Nornir chest will contain one of three, either Idunn Apple or Horn of Blood Mead, that you will need to upgrade your health and rage. You'll need to collect three of each three separate times, adding up to a total of eighteen. Some of the puzzles required for unlocking the Nornir chests can be quite confusing, so please refer to the video below if you'd like a more detailed explanation of each chest and puzzle.

Dangerous Skies
Free all of the Dragons

There are three chained Dragons that are spread among Midgard, and for this achievement, you will need to free all three of them. When you come across a Dragon, you will unlock a new favor that is related to freeing them, and the Dragons themselves aren't very dangerous other than them using a variety of area of effect abilities when you get too close. Your main objective here is to disable the shrine that keeps them imprisoned by destroying three smaller totems with the blue runes on them. You can find their locations for each Dragon by tracking the favor that will unlock when you first meet one. They're all spread out within the area you find each Dragon and aren't very difficult to find.

Note: You will not be able to access every Dragon immediately, but you will be able to access all three as late as the main story quest "A Path to Jotunheim". Here is the information for all three of the Dragons needing to be freed:

Collect all of the Artifacts

There are quite a lot of Artifacts in the game, but thankfully, all of them can be earned after you've completed the main story, so you don't need to worry about missing any of them. They span from all over the map, and they are all quite accessible.

If you somehow managed to miss every Artifact while playing through the main story, it should take you around fifty minutes to go around and collect them all. You can always refer to the statistics you have on the "Map" screen of the main menu to check how many Artifacts you might be missing in each area, too. Below is a video guide for every Artifact location.

Complete all of the Trials of Muspelheim

Once you come across your first Language Cipher, you will unlock a new journey called "The Realm of Fire", in which you will be tasked to find four Language Ciphers (Refer to "Trilingual" achievement guide for more information on Language Ciphers) to unlock the path to the Realm of Muspelheim. Muspelheim is a realm filled to the brim with volcanic ash and lava spewing everywhere, and it hosts six trials that Kratos and Atreus must complete in order to earn this achievement. Every Trial (excluding the sixth and final Trial) has three difficulty levels: Normal, Hard, and Impossible.

It's highly recommended that you first finish the story and then go for getting the "Darkness and Fog" achievement before completing these trials, that way you'll be a high enough level to be able to finish all the trials and even the Valkyrie at the end with ease, rather than making this achievement harder than it needs to be. It's also recommended that you lower the difficulty to Easy if you haven't already.

Upon your arrival to Muspelheim, you will be able to tackle each Trial at the Normal and Hard difficulty levels, with the Impossible difficulty staying locked until after completing the fifth Trial. After completing all the Normal and Hard difficulty levels for each of the previous Trials, you will run into a powerful Valkyrie (see "Chooser of the Slain" achievement guide for more information) that you will need to defeat in order to progress with the sixth and final Trial.

Lastly, after you defeat the Valkyrie in Muspelheim, the sixth and final Trial will spawn in the same area, but you won't be able to access it. In order to access it, you will need three keys, and the only way to get those three keys is by completing at least three out of five of the previous Trials on the Impossible difficulty. The Impossible difficulty is much harder than Normal and Hard, but is still very manageable, especially with end game gear.

You only need to complete three of five Trials on the new Impossible difficulty, and some of the Impossible level Trials are much less forgiving, so you should choose whichever you feel the most comfortable with. However, Trials two, three, and five are by far the most fair and forgiving of the bunch (in our opinion), so you should stick with trying to clear those primarily if you find yourself struggling with the rest.

Upon clearing the final Trial, you will unlock this achievement.
Info about trials:

# 1
Normal: Kill every enemy before the time runs out.
Hard: Kill each group of enemies quickly.
Impossible: Complete the Trial without taking any damage.

# 2
Normal: Survive for five minutes.
Hard: Enemies regenerate their health extremely fast - kill them quickly.
Impossible: Kill all the enemies before the time runs out.

# 3
Normal: Kill smaller enemies to break the Elite's shield for you to do damage.
Hard: Kill all the enemies while they are inside the golden rings on the floor.
Impossible: Same as on Hard

# 4
Normal: Kill 100 enemies.
Hard: Kill all enemies without letting any enemies capture Atreus.
Impossible: Enemies regenerate their health extremely fast - kill them quickly.

# 5
Normal: Kill enemies to increase the time limit.
Hard: Avoid taking as much damage as you can.
Impossible: Kill enemies to increase the time limit.

# 6
While Trial six has several different stages after completing each one, you only need to complete the first stage for killing 50 enemies within the time limit.
Impossible: Kill 50 enemies before the time limit runs out.

Retrieve all treasure from the Workshop’s center chamber

After you finish the first set of Language Ciphers, unlocking Muspelheim and its Trials for travel, you will need an additional four Language Ciphers to reach Niflheim (Refer to Trilingual for Language Cipher information).

Niflheim hosts an interesting, as well as dangerous, labyrinth exploration game. You must explore this labyrinth and open the chests you find inside in order to earn Mist Echoes, which will serve as an important form of currency here in Niflheim. There is a catch though; you are slowly being poisoned the longer you stay in the labyrinth (indicated by the bar at the top of your screen), so you will need to make sure that you get in and out without dying, or else you will lose all the Mist Echoes you have collected.

Understanding the Layout
While the labyrinth's contents is entirely randomized each time, the base format stays the exact same every time you enter it. There is a rotation of enemies which spawn at Area A, B, C, and D. Area Y will have more powerful enemies, and the traps connecting each area are different each time. That being said, each visit is randomized, but the following map does a good job at explaining the layout (Credit to IGN for this diagram):

The labyrinth isn't too complex, nor is it very difficult; the biggest threat to you being the poison gas ticking over time. However, if you choose to fight the Valkyrie located within the Labyrinth, you must take caution as the poison will still be ticking down on you while you fight it (For more information, refer to the "Chooser of the Slain" achievement). Though it should be noted that for this achievementin particular, you won't have to interact with the Valkyrie at any point.

The Treasure Room
For this achievement, you will need to firstly unlock the gate to the center chamber using an entry stone, which you can buy from Sindri's Niflheim shop for 500 Mist Echoes by going to Resources under the "Buy" section. Once you have reached the Workshop's center chamber, you will notice three realm tears, and five treasure chests, all of which will require Mist Echoes to open. It will cost you close to 70,000 Mist Echoes to open every single realm tear and treasure chest, but this is easily achievable if you farm the labyrinth for awhile and sell any spare materials you don't need for Mist Echoes at Sindri's Niflheim shop.

This achievement is also heavily related to Bronze Worthy, as you will need to open up every realm tear and treasure chest here in the center chamber to earn a Chilling Mist of Niflheim, which is essential to fully upgrading the Leviathan Axe. Once you have retrieved all the treasure from the chests and realm tears from the center chamber, you will unlock this achievement.

Getting Mist Echoes Quickly & Leveling Up
Since you will have to get 70,000 mist echoes, it's best to know how to get them quickly as it will save you several hours of repetitive grinding. While you're here, it's also an excellent opportunity to buy some of the best equipment and upgrade it using items you find here. Doing so can definitely get you to level 8 and make you powerful enough to take on the Valkyrie's and the Trials of Muspelheim if you haven't done so already.

It's definitely possible to get around 5,000 mist echoes per visit to the Workshop, but it will take some improvements to your armor, stats, and familiarity of the place to pull that off easily. To start off here, a good idea to get familiar is just to walk into the first area (Area D) and take out all enemies there, then walk down each corridor to the sides (A-D & C-D on the map above) to get treasures there, and return back out of the zone. This typically gives you anywhere from 500 - 1,000 mist echoes per visit. After doing that a few times you should have opened up the treasure room and have an understanding of how the workshop works.

You may find if you are around level 5 and haven't upgraded much of your gear, you'll still have some of the enemies be able to get a few hits into you. So now it's time to start upgrading armor. Sindri at the shop at the entrance gate of the Workshop will sell you epic (Gold tier) armor which will be what levels you up to ~8. For the most part, if you have some Hacksilver and mist echoes, you can buy that armor and upgrade it easily.

Getting the Anchor of Fog Quickly
To open the three realm tears in the treasure room, you will need to have a resource called the "Anchor of Fog" for each. The only way to get this is by opening a chest in Area Y (See map above) after killing more powerful enemies that reside there. Once you've killed the enemies in Area Y there is a random chance of getting an Anchor of Fog when open the golden chest in the center. That being said, it all depends on luck, so some lucky players could get three of them in a row, while others could spend hours trying to get them.
Thankfully, there is a way to almost assuredly get the Anchor of Fog nearly every time, and it all has to do with that Luck skill you may have thought served little to no purpose in the game. You will want to get the Luck skill as close to 100 as possible (Or higher), this will significantly increase your odds of getting an Anchor of Fog each time.

Once you have a lot of luck, you'll want to head to Area Y from the entrance, taking the route on the right (Area D, to Area C, to Area Y). Be sure to attack all enemies and open all chests you encounter along the way as that seems to improve your odds. Once you get to Area Y, simply kill all enemies there and you'll likely find the Anchor of Fog in the golden chest at Area Y. If you don't, just keep trying the same thing and you will soon enough. You will need to collect a total of three of these for each tear in the treasure room.

Despite what various sources say, you do not have to fight the Valkyrie (Located in Area X in the map above) to get the third Anchor of Fog, though defeating her will get another gold chest to show up from that point on with the possibility of the Anchor of Fog spawning inside it.

Finishing Up
At this point it's all a matter of collecting the rest of the Mist Echoes you need along with a total of 3 Anchor of Fogs you need to open up the tears. If you haven't read the part above for getting Anchor of Fog very quickly, take a look at that section.

The first tear will throw three level 8 Ogres at you, which isn't so bad if you're close to the same level as them. The second tear is level 8 witches who are a little more powerful but are very weak to your rage.

The third tear has a Soul Devourer boss with some lower level enemies. This boss is actually easy so long as you just use your axe on its open chest, and it's recommended to just take care of it as soon as you can as that will also cause the lower level enemies to disappear.

Once all chests are opened and all tears are opened, congratulations, you have completed the Workshop and earned this achievement.

Complete all of Brok and Sindri’s Favors

Brok and Sindri are the two master blacksmiths that you will encounter while playing the main story of the game, which will occasionally have favors available for Kratos to accept the further you progress into the story. For this achievement, you will have to accept every favor that Brok and Sindri have to offer when prompted after visiting one of their shops.

Brok will give you two favors, and Sindri will give you two favors, but you won't be able to accept the fifth and final favor until you've reached a certain point far into the main story. Below are the favors required for earning this achievement.

Brok's Favor: Second Hand Soul
Location: Volunder Mines
Reward: Rare Pommel, 3290 EXP
Objective: Brok claims that there is a Dwarf named Andvari somewhere inside the Volunder Mines who has a very important green ring, and he wants you to find the ring, as well as Andvari, or whatever is left of him.

Brok's Favor: Deus Ex Malachite
Location: Laudsuther Mines
Reward: Epic Enchantment, 3290 EXP
Objective: Brok asks Kratos and Atreus to help him find a hammer that his former colleague, Andvari, had lost somewhere deep into the Landsuther Mines after he lost his life and trapped himself in a ring to stay "alive".

Sindri's Favor: Fafnir's Hoard
Location: Fafnir's Storeroom
Reward: Rare Talisman, 3290 EXP
Objective: Sindri tells Kratos of Fafnir's whetstone, a very important item that Sindri needs, and that he wants Kratos to check on it's whereabouts somewhere inside Fafnir's Storeroom, bringing it back to him if possible.

Sindri's Favor: Family Business
Location: Northi Stronghold
Reward: Legendary Pommel, 3290 EXP
Objective: After locating where the whetstone may be, Kratos and Atreus make their way to the Northi Stronghold to find out what the reavers did with it, and retrieve it for Sindri.

Sindri and Brok's Favor: Hail to the King
Location: Konunsgard Stronghold (only accessible once you have reforged Brok and Sindri's partnership during the "A Path to Jotunheim" main story quest)
Reward: Runic Attack - Fire of Ares, Dwarven Armor Set Recipe, 3290 EXP
Objective: Once Brok and Sindri reforge their partnership, they will allow you to go to Konunsgard to retrieve the ingredients to a legendary Dwarven armor set as a way of repaying both Kratos and Atreus for helping them realize that they are a better fit together.

Defeat the nine Valkyries

The Valkyries are the most powerful enemies in the game, with the ninth Valkyrie, the Queen, being by far the most formidable opponent the game has to offer. For this achievement, you will need to defeat all eight Valkyries, and then the Queen Valkyrie. Once you have finished the game, the eight Valkyries will be marked on the map, being spread all around Midgard, Alfheim, Helheim, Muspelheim, and Niflgard. After you have defeated eight of the Valkyries, you will need to bring their crowns to the Council of Valkyries (which is located on the North side of the Lake of Nine, next to The Mason's Channel), and this will summon the Queen Valkyrie for you to face. Upon killing the Queen Valkyrie, you will unlock this achievement.

The Queen Valkyrie is the hardest boss in the entire game and she will surely be significantly harder than whatever else you've become used to thus far. It is recommended that you choose to rely on dodging over blocking, as she has several attacks that will completely negate your blocks. It is recommended that you turn the game difficulty down to easy to make this much less tedious. You should also make sure that you have the best possible gear and weapon upgrades for the Leviathan Axe and Blades of Chaos, since you will absolutely need them for this fight. Ivaldi's armor set is one of the best choices you can have for this boss fight, which you can find and craft by speaking to Sindri in Niflheim.

One of the best general strategies against the Queen Valkyrie, in my experience, would definitely be to abuse your Runic attacks whenever she uses her shield ability. Occasionally, the Queen Valkyrie will hold her wings in front of her body as a way of defense, and when she does this. you must back up a bit and get ready to attack as soon as she opens them. It is highly encouraged that you save at least one of your Runic attacks for when she opens her wings, as you will be able to do a huge amount of damage in this small time frame. You can also use a Runic attack on her while she has her wings shielding as it will still do full damage to her, it is just much more dangerous than waiting until she opens up again.

Here are some general tips and advice for the Queen Valkyrie fight:
Ensure that all of your armor has all of its sockets filled out with Epic / Legendary gems, these will be essential to making sure that your armor is in the best possible condition.
Take time to gather any materials you might need to fully upgrade your armor as well, even if it doesn't make a huge change.
Make sure that all your Runic Attacks are fully upgraded to level three.
Weaving Atreus' bow attacks in between Kratos' attacks is the best way to maximize damage output, since it can briefly stun the Queen Valkyrie, as well as chunk a significant amount of her health.
The "Berserkers Resurrection Stone" that can be purchased from the shop is one of the best choices for this fight, as it will revive Kratos upon death will maximum rage.
Atreus should only be using his electricity arrows, as they are significantly stronger against the Queen Valkyrie than the Alfheim Light arrows.
When using your Runic Attacks, you will slow down time during the animation, and offer a brief moment of calm for when facing the Queen Valkyrie. You should try and utilize them for if you're unsure if you're going to be able to dodge an ability or not, since it will not only give you time to adjust, but it will also interrupt any ability the Queen Valkyrie is using.
Ultimately, this is a test of skill, and will certainly prove a challenging fight for even the most skilled of players. If you abuse your Runic attacks as much as you possibly can, you will have a fair chance against the Queen Valkyrie. With enough practice, you should be able to defeat the Queen Valkyrie and earn this achievement.
