Elementalist Beginner's Guide
By Gamer Dragon
This is a build for the Elementalist, covering the first 20 levels. This is not a min/max guide nor is it a quick level guide. Games are meant to be fun and that's how I make my builds.

Thoughts on Stats
Ability Points
Since this build is mostly a magic-user, then it's obvious we'll be distributing most stat points into Intelligence. However, I also suggest a few points in Dexterity. Why? The stat not only increases offensive and defensive abilities, but also helps with hit chance and critical hit. So, I would suggest a 2 Intelligence/1 Dexterity distribution of stats.

Skill Points
If you stay away from damage, then you should have no need to put any points into health or mana.
When you put points into any mastery, you automatically get a stat boost in health and mana. These levels raise your stats enough to stay alive and have a relatively good pool of mana.
Leveling 1 - 10
The first few levels
At level 2, we can get our first mastery. In this build, we'll be focusing most of our points on the Earth Mastery. Choose the Earth Mastery and put 2 points into the mastery and one point into Earth Enchantment. Make sure to turn it on before you do anything else since this will help with your offensive output. From levels 3 to 6, continue to put 2 points into the Earth mastery and 1 point into Earth Enchantment. We need to buff your damage so you'll kill most enemies before they reach you (assuming you're using a ranged type of weapon).

Levels 7 - 10
After defeating the centaur near the Spartan camp, you'll get a skill point. You can use this to get your demolishing AOE ability: Volcanic Orb. This will help clear out groups of monsters and keep your run going smoothly. Put 2 points into the Earth mastery and 1 into Volcanic Orb. Although you can pick the Storm mastery at level 8, I'd hold off a bit more for it. We're shooting for Conflagration, which we can put points into when getting to level 10. Add 2 points to the Earth Mastery and 1 point to Conflagration, which makes Volcanic Orb all that more lethal.

Leveling 11 - 20
Levels 11 - 20
At level 11, you should now pick up the Storm Mastery and start pumping skill points into it. The build will become less of a glass cannon by increasing your intelligence, dexterity, health, and mana. I suggest putting 3 points into the Storm mastery from levels 11 - 13.

When you ding level 14, you'll start encountering harder monsters so put 1 point into the Storm mastery this time and 2 points into the skill Squall. Using this will really help lower the enemy's chance of hitting you as well as helping with damage output. This skill is really helpful when they're enemies around 20% health. The added electrical damage should finish them off

At level 15, go back to our normal skill distrubution and add 2 points to the Storm mastery and 1 point to Squall. For levels 16 - 20 you'll switch back to the Earth mastery. Put 2 points into Earth mastery and 1 point into Brimstone. Not only does this increase your damage output dramatically, but the extra damage will allow you to start destroying enemies well before they reach you.
Last Thoughts
When you get to level 20, you should be closing in to the end of Act I and the first Telkine. You've got the firepower and now you should start to focus on some defensive measures. After level 20 I'd suggest putting at least 1 if not more skill points into Stone Skin, found in Earth mastery. As for the Storm mastery, the next best thing to get is the Summon Wisp skill. It will give you a couple more hits on enemies. The skill we're really going for is Eye of the Storm, which gains even more elemental damage.

I hope you enjoyed my guide and if you have any questions, email me or let me know. Thanks!

Because not everyone wants to rush through everything. Some people like to enjoy the journey more than the end of it.
