Expectations
  • This game is in Early Access with an expectation for adding more achievements, so keep that in mind if you're here for an easy 100%.
  • I'll be keeping this guide up to date as time permits. The version the guide will be updated for will be in the title

Notes
  • Due to collaboration settings and the game being in an early access state and may contain balancing changes, details of where crafting recipes may be avoided and instead the Basics section will teach you how to navigate the Ecopedia as well as using in-game chat to link objects to understand how to obtain them for sustainability.
Basics
XP Gain
XP gain is broken into two sections: Food & Housing

Food
Food is one of the two ways to gain experience points to progress towards your next specialization. Food bonus is impacted by a number of factors: food quality, nutritional balance, cravings and tastiness.

Nutrition Quality: A food will have a point value for each of the 4 main nutritional categories: Vitamins, Nutrients, Protein, and Fat. If one of the categories does not show up for a food, then it's 0 in that category. The higher the number, the better the nutrition quality. This essentially separates different foods from being tier 1 vs tier 2 etc.

Tastiness: For each server you play in, you will be given randomized food preferences. Eating foods you like will give you more points. There are 7 tiers to tastiness: Least Favorite -> Horrible -> Bad -> Neutral -> Good -> Delicious -> Favorite

Nutritional Balance: When eating foods, your stomach where your food bonus is displayed will have a graphical representation of how much of one nutrition you have in your stomach. The more balanced this is, the higher the food bonus.

Cravings: When your character craves a food, you'll earn a food bonus percentage boost for satisfying cravings. Your character will only crave food that has a positive tastiness preference for your character.

Housing
Housing is the other way to gain XP and provides a stable XP in contrast to your food bonus. Given your home rarely changes unless you're making adjustments to it, then you don't have to worry about balancing the home constantly.

For the Eco overview of Housing, you can visit the Ecopedia (F1), under Concepts, go to Housing.

Basic: In order for you to receive housing bonus for something, the rooms must be completely contained within a single deed and the player must be a residence of that deed.

Room Types: There are 4 room types that contribute to your housing bonus, so building various rooms will allow your housing bonus to thrive. The best way to find what objects fit the rooms you're building, Go to the Ecopedia (F1), Reference > Housing Objects.
  1. Living Room
  2. Bedroom
  3. Bathroom
  4. Kitchen

Tier Soft Caps: Similar to food where higher tiered foods benefit you. Having higher tiered rooms based on the material the walls, floors, and roof is made of, will raise the soft-cap of the room to allow for higher housing bonuses.

Occupants: For every occupant of the deed, the bonus for each room will be split amongst all the occupants. However, this will also allow multiple rooms to be built for each person with no diminishing returns, so a residence with 3 players can have 3 bathrooms, 3 bedrooms, etc, with no penalties.

Others
  1. Building extra rooms will result in diminishing returns.
  2. Placing the same object in the same room will also result in diminishing returns.
  3. Generic categories such as Seating, Lighting and Decoration all enhance every room you have.
  4. If you have any tables that are Industrial, placing them into a room will immediately nullify the room bonus as the room will turn into an Industrial Room.
  5. If you ever have a room that is no longer registering, try picking up a floor piece and placing it back.

Progression
The general cycle of Eco is that you start with basic specializations like Mining, Logging, etc and that allows you to research specific specializations to improve your builds. The below view can be accessed by J

From here, you can execute research at the Research Table and Laboratory to produce Skill Books which produces Skill Scrolls in order to unlock higher tiered Specializations.

Storyline
Fireworks Show
Online for the destruction of the meteor

The key objective of the game is to eliminate the meteor. This requires you to progress the tech tree until you can build the lasers and the computer lab. You'll need a lot of power to supply these lasers and computer lab and the computer lab itself must be placed within a Tier 4 building.

Once all those requirements have been met, then opening the computer lab menu will allow you to active the lasers.
Culture Achievement
There's really only two achievements that you have to watch out for which is Magnum Opus and Cultural Phenomenon. Magnum Opus clears the requirement for the other 7 culture based achievements.

Achievements
Single Artwork
Magnum Opus
Create a piece of artwork that generates 1000 culture.

Masterpiece
Create a piece of artwork that generates 50 culture.

Remarkable Work
Create a piece of artwork that generates 5 culture.

Totals
Dilettante

Other
Cultural Phenomenon

Culture
So culture is generated from the new art system that includes paintings, pictures, and prints. Using the Easel to create paintings, or using the Tripod Camera or Camera to generate pictures, or by using the Printing Press to upload images. Then take these images and place them into a frame which will allow people to vote it up.

Currently, getting 1000 culture on a single artwork is not possible, but the way to generate the most amount of culture, but know this as a general rule: Reputation given by people within your settlement are nerfed by 90% as opposed to outside your settlement.
- Gain reputation on your character itself
- Gain reputation on your artwork
- Make sure you're the author of the artwork

Culture has a hard cap as well at 50 in the current setting. The closest way to manipulate this is by uncapping the maximum reputation per day.

I will revisit this achievement to see if there are ways to manipulate this.
Economy Achievements
Setting up Shop - Opened a store with at least one item listed.

Make sure to place the Store inside of a tier 1 building with enough room. After that, hook it up to a storage component, such as a store chest or stockpile. Then put an item up for sale and make sure that item is available in the connected storage.

Conversion Fees
Setup a currency exchange exchanging two minted currencies.

The currency exchange and the mint both need a tier 2 building. So leaning into Lumber and Brick buildings. You'll need two separate mints to mint two different currencies. Once two different currencies are minted with the two mints, you can setup a currency exchange to trade between the two.

Make it Rain
Minted First Currency.

Craft a Mint, place it inside of a Tier 2 building. Interact with the mint, select a backing item that will be used to generate currency and mint at least one time.

Taxpayer
Paid 1000 currency in taxes in backing-item value.

Two ways to get to this:
  1. Use an executive action to tax yourself at an Executive Office
  2. Setup taxes at the Treasury and perform enough activities in order to accrue in a item backed currency
Food Achievements

Blech.
Discover your least favorite food

See favorite food.

Yum!
Discover Your Favorite Food

As explained, there are tiers of tastiness and only one food each will be your favorite food and your least favorite food. This food has a minimum requirement of either nutrition values or calories counts. There's no way (without mods) to figure out what your favorite food is and should attempt to eat every high tier food. This primarily means food produced from Advanced Cooking, Advanced Baking, and eventually Cutting Edge Cooking.

Added WIP to the title, I'll be playing in a server starting January 8th and will update the guide accordingly to see what's the best way to farm these achievements.

My recommendation is to create a new game on 9.4.6 just to do this achievement, then you can resume playing on your normal versions. Make sure if you have any mods installed that they're either 9.4.6 compatible or temporarily remove the mods.

As this game is in early access, achievements aren't a huge focus just yet, so I wouldn't expect this to be resolved soon and they may break again at any time.

When do you think they will activate the trophies on the most recent versions? my game doesn't work on 9.4...

Eco added 7 new achievements recently that aren't obtainable yet. But wrote them out anyways when they've been implemented.

Also added a picture for the beta setup.

thank you!
First, i couldn't get it to work because i overread that i needed to play the game in 9.4.6 Beta more because any newer version can't trigger the achievement. But when i did the full setup, it worked.

@Kringlez did you ever get it to work? I've done everything as well, double checked everything was right and no achievement, relogged steam, the game, did everything again and nothing.
ponkberry  [autor] 24 DIC 2022 a las 19:43
I'll do some testing, but I assume the version may be related here.

I've been on 9.6.6 and 9.7.6 and it definitely hasn't triggered. So may need to swap to 9.4.X which is when I wrote this.
