Cooking contest: Leilani vs Kogi
The sidequest "Regional Delicacies" is only available in the New Game+ mode and will be startet once reaching Port Maerifa. There you will meet a non-combatant Incarnation and cook of a secret organisation named Kogi, who claims to be the best cook in the world. As a result, Leilani will be asked by Ajna and the others to compete against Kogi in a cooking duel. This is why Kogi sends you on a mission to hunt 10 vicious monster bosses for gathering some superb ingredients and practical tools for his kitchen to win against Leilani.

Kogi is not missable, you run directly into his arms in front of the shop near the port.

Kogi will be absorbed into your Innter Realm as well and can be found at the platform with Tungar, Phoebe, Zahra and Kampan. Speaking to him will show a list which monsters you have to hunt or defeated already, as well with a some rough hints where to find them and some tactical informations. The bosses can be fought in any order, but some are well hidden or can only reached when you gained some special abilities following the main story.

Even for New game+, these monster bosses are quite easy to beat. Not like the secret special boss Meowster in its catwalk dungeon at Sumero mountain.

4. Falcon
Name: Falcon
Location: Port Maerifa
Area: In a high place

Kogi's information:
"This murder of crows truly murders people. I wish that were a joke. They're led by one particularly large crow who fights the toughest opponent alone, unless it gets overwhelmed. Bring back some meat from these crows, it's reportedly especially tender. "

Map location:
Falcon can be found at the top of the tower near the port area. It is the highest reachable point in Maerifa. It needs some tricky jumping and a lot of aerial abilities to get to.

Special informaion:
To get on the final platform you need to do a special technique the game does not explicitly explain but can also be used to reach areas early in the game as soon as you have the pole-ceiling ability you get in Tai Krung City from Ren.

Use pole jump and dash upwards with both dashing abilities. Use your pole to pin yourself under the ceiling and jump to the most right edge under the ceiling. Jump a little bit to the right and re-pin yourself again as often as necessary. Get to the most right corner under the ceiling as possible. Jump right and quickly turn around. Use the axe immidiately to tug yourself onto the side of the platform. Then jump upwards and you will be on the platform.

"This target is totally inorganic - Haathi controlled by a Katar. They broke off from Ravannavar's army and started an autonomous reign of terror all their own. With the metal and gemstones from this formidable foe I can create the ultimate pot lid, sealing the flavor without making anything soggy."

Map location:
Katar can be found farer to the right from Rompo's lair, before you will reach the open desert area with the sandstorm. It will wait on the upper right platform next to the Ringsel behind the 3 breakable wall. Due to the wind, you can only reach it with the hustle dash. See the current location marker.

Tactical information:
Katar is only a drone calling different elemental Haathi versions. It is the only boss in this quest with more than 1 healthbar. It has 4 in total. The current summoned Haathi will count into this healthbar but will not count to the death of Katar. So it can happen that you win by killing Katar with still some health on the bar left.

Winner and reward
You will get a special reward after killing and collecting everything for this quest. Just return to your Inner Realm for the cooking contest. Also you will see a nice close-up of combatant incarnations. In my case these are all playable characters, so actually a full team:

As expected, Kogi will loose to Leilani as he underestimated her family recipts and her capabilities to mix tasty food out of the weirdest ingredients. She will then be rewarded by Kogi with a special golden sharktooth chainsaw weapon made out of the stuff you collected during the quest.

This weapon is purely a cosmetical reward. There is actually no difference in the damage it is dealing to the enemies, nor Leilani's stats get boosted.
