Some Quick Notes

CTRL + F to search for a specific achievement.

ALL ACHIEVEMENTS ARE UNMISSABLE, though some require more effort and patience than others. Defeating the last boss takes you back to the town hub where you can mop up any remaining achievements. Feel free to complete them in any order, though I do recommend leaving the final boss achievement for last.

SPARKLITE is the game's currency.

PATCHES are upgrades. They are slotted in your wrench. There are 3 tiers of patches: bronze, silver, and gold. 2 patches of the same tier can be combined to form 1 higher tier patch.

Story Achievements
These will naturally unlock as you play the game's story to completion.

On Your Way
Complete the tutorial.
Titan Slayer
Defeat the boss of the Vinelands.
Cut Down To Size
Defeat the boss of the Goldenwoods.
Drain The Swamp
Defeat the boss of the Acid Bog.
Bug Stomper
Defeat the boss of the Shifting Sands.

Save this one for the very last.
Savior
Defeat the boss of Titan's Ridge.

I strongly recommend waiting on the last boss fight until you've gotten every other achievement. This is because you will end up collecting enough Sparklite to purchase multiple patches which will help with the last boss who has a surprising difficulty spike when compared to the other bosses.

Progress Achievements
Some of these achievements will tick up kinda slow in the beginning but will be easy once you collect more patches.

Cliff Diver
Accumulate 100 jump-down distance.

"Jump-down" is when you go up some stairs and walk off the edge of the platform onto the ground. Fairly low effort, just don't use stairs when going down.

Unstoppable
Defeat 500 enemies over all plays.

Don't worry, you will.

Bring Home The Bacon
Gather 1,000 Sparklite in a single run.
Prospector
Collect 5,000 Sparklite over all plays.

You might have a good long run and end up with the 1,000 in a single run achievement in the early game. If not, once you reach the mid/late game, you will be stronger and will have patches that increase the amount of Sparklite collected. You will definitely bring home that bacon! Prospector will naturally happen.

Excavator
Dig up 100 pickups with Wingnut over all plays.

Wingnut is your little robot and he will have a claw to grab items. Pickups can be dug up from inside little holes in the ground (which have a tiny sparkle and make a little tinkling sound) or holes in the water. They are quite small and hard to see and I am getting old.

A Clean Planet Is A Happy Planet
Clean up 500 splats of Muck with Wingnut over all plays.

Wingnut is also a household appliance and comes equipped with a vacuum and a 2 year warranty. Look for mud patches on the ground and clean them up! Once Wingnut is full of muck, he poops out a ball that you can break for some Sparklite.

NPC Achievements
Some NPC quests are repeatable and it's worth doing them over and over again for some handy rewards.

My First Customer!
Purchase a Widget from Hawkins.

Hawkins is the bald guy with the bazooka. He is on the NE side of town. Don't forget to drop by and grab a widget every time before you head down to start a new run.

One of the most useful NPCs in the game.
Explorer
Help Margo and Pogo find their way to town.

REPEATABLE

During your runs you'll encounter one of the twins. They'll ask you to find their sibling who will be in a different area. Find the other twin and not only will you get the achievement, but they will also reward you with the area's Explorer's Badge. It is essentially a map you slot into your wrench and it reveals the entire area including all the special buildings in it like Vaults, Furnaces, Titans (bosses), and Monty's Haul.

Once the twins are reunited, they will hang out in the middle of town to rest. They will later head back out and there will be a sign in their spot that says where they went. You can repeat the quest to find them again and again until you collect all the badges.

Collecting all the area Explorer's Badges/maps will make your life immensely easier when you have to do tedious achievements like DECOMMISSIONER and WELCOME ABOARD!

I suggest doing a Margo Pogo quest every time you unlock a new area and repeat as necessary until you have all 5 maps.

Apprentice Inventor
Invent a Gadget.
Master Inventor
Invent all Gadgets.

Technically not an NPC achievement, but this seemed like a good spot for these achievements. This is the order to make gadgets: Vault > blueprint > invent. Vaults are the special orange buildings you open with the amulet. There is 1 Vault per area. Blueprints are the rewards you receive after solving the Vault puzzles. You can then invent the gadget that's on the blueprint by visiting Rizzle's workshop SE of town.

The Vault Triangulator (a patch that reveals all the Vault locations) is good for this one.

Cage Free
Rescue Teddy.

Teddy sometimes spawns in the Goldenwoods.

Helping Hand
Rescue Corwin.

Corwin sometimes spawns inside a cave in the Acid Bog. Once rescued, you can find him in the SW side of town, inside a little airboat. He has statues of all the monsters you've defeated so far and you can click on one to have him focus on it so you'll do extra damage. It's pretty useful against some late game monsters like the giant red hippo-things will the golden hammers that take forever to kill.

Good Sport
Win a race against Rocky the Rocket.

REPEATABLE

You first meet Rocky in the Shifting Sands. After you beat him for the first time, he will hang out in town and will sometimes tell you where to meet him for another race. It's not necessary to actively seek him out like the Margo Pogo twins, but it's not a bad idea to race him if you happen to encounter him again during a run. He rewards you with patches which will save you some Sparklite if you like hoarding them like I did.

Pain-In-The-Butt Achievements
These can fit in the other achievement sections, but I feel they deserve their own special category. Try to familiarize yourself with these achievements and try to keep these in the back of your mind during every run, so you can chip away at them while you're busy doing other objectives. While you can specifically grind just for these achievements, it'll be more painful that way. Have some consideration for your butt.

Beat It
Find a Beat in the world.
Feelin' The Music
Collect 25 Beats.
Magnum Opus
Collect all Beats.

TURN THE GAME MUSIC OFF.

Beats are hidden initially and the best way to know if they are nearby is to listen for their little squeaks. A little music note also floats up from their location but the best indicator is definitely the squeaking.

On your map there is a tally of possible beats you can find in each of the 5 areas. Only a certain number of beats spawn during a run so numerous attempts are necessary to collect them all. Beats can hide anywhere on the screen. They can be inside holes (like the ones Wingnut can dig), inside rocks that you have to blow up, in the grass, in the muck, in the snow, up on the trees, and even underground. Try to keep up with your gadgets because some beats are only accessible with certain gadgets.

There are beats in town!

Also, check in on Harmony once in a while in the NW part of town because she gives you some nice patches as a reward after you've collected a certain number of beats.

Decommissioner
Shut down all of the Furnaces.

Somewhat annoying because there is no way to check which Furnaces you've shut down and which ones are missing, as far as I know. I did notice that there were different kinds of "mini bosses" on the last floors of the Furnaces. If you were diligent enough to write down which mini bosses you've defeated, then maybe that's a way to keep track? Or just clear every Furnace you encounter.

Furnaces are the buildings with the smokestacks. The Furnace Triangulator (a patch that reveals all the Furnace locations) is very helpful here.

Welcome Aboard!
Become a "First Mate" in Monty's Crew.

Probably the most tedious achievement in this game. This is when having all of Margo and Pogo's Explorer's Badges is a godsend. Monty's Haul is a building that looks like a pirate ship that spawns randomly, if at all, in any 1 of the 5 areas. You need to play Monty's game 20 times for the achievement to pop (you don't have to win).

If you want to grind this one achievement: slot in all the Explorer's Badges, start a run, and if you can't see Monty's ship on your map, start a new run. Keep restarting until the ship spawns and you can play his game. Rinse, repeat, enjoy.

Miscellaneous Achievements

Hammer Time
Defeat 20 enemies consecutively with the Hammer in a single run.

Lots of ways to achieve this. I did this in the starting area, the Vinelands, and just killed everything that moved with my hammer until the achievement popped.

Boomer
Defeat three enemies at once with a Boom Balloon.

OK! This is a somewhat tricky one. I chose to kill the Sand Fleas in the Shifting Sands. But first, in town, cram in all the damage patches you own into your wrench, talk to Corwin to the SW and have him focus on Sand Fleas. Once you find a group of three Sand Fleas, have them clump on you, repeatedly dash away so you have some space, and then destroy them with the Boom Balloon despite its horrendous controls.

Here's another (better) way, thanks to [Boc] Oshroth:
I did it in the final area on a map with 3 of the little orange enemies that don't hurt you and a ledge. I just pushed all 3 of the enemies onto the corner of the ledge where they would all get stuck and then used the Boom Balloon to blow them up in one go.

Completionist
Unlock all other achievements.

Congratulations! You didn't even need this guide did you?!

Boss Fights
Also called Titans in the game. Their buildings are the ones with the pleasant looking skull with black smoke curling up from its dead empty sockets. The Titan Triangulator (a patch that reveals all boss locations) could be useful. The bosses are fairly straightforward once you recognize their attack patterns. Their weak spots are bright red. There is 1 boss for each of the 5 areas in the game. You need to defeat the area's boss to unlock the next area.

Vinelands Boss:
Boris the Tunneling Titan

Attack pattern:

Ball
There is a slight pause before Boris shoots the ball towards you. Dodge it, and the ball will momentarily get stuck in the wall. Run up to Boris in the middle there and whack him a few times.
Vacuum
After he attacks you with the ball a few times, he will try to suck you up. Spam your dash.
Stomp
When Boris is done doing his house cleaning, the ball will stomp once.

Goldenwoods Boss:
Timbert the Lumbering Titan

Attack pattern:

Stompy Crabwalk
Timbert has 4 log "legs" that you need to deactivate first before you can damage him. Wait until right after the log stomps (careful, the aoe radius is a little big) then run up quickly to hit it a few times. Keep hitting it until the red light on the log is off. You can hit the logs from any angle. After the 4 logs are off, Timbert will stop moving for a bit and you can run right up to him and do damage.
Log Smash
His log "hand" blinks right before the log chases you and tries to squish you repeatedly. Just run around and don't stand still.
Saw Blade
His saw blade "hand" blinks right before he does one big swipe in an arc towards you. Run away.

Acid Bog Boss:
Scubert the Ironclad Titan

Attack pattern:

Goo Balls
Can't squish them, just avoid them as best you can. After Scubert's done releasing them, he will rise out of the water and expose his red weak spot. Bap it.
Laser Beams
Position yourself between the lasers and move along with them. Standing behind a rock will only get you zapped, keep moving.
Jetpack Bomber
After every 4 blasts, the bomber lands and you can kill him. Try not to give him a chance to take off, otherwise you might end up with multiple bombers chasing you and they can be pesky.

Shifting Sands Boss:
Scorch the Sandshifting Titan

Attack pattern:

Pincers
Every 5 seconds, these rapidly slash at you in a small arc. It's impossible to dodge if you are in Scorch's face meleeing him. Being able to count to 5 is highly recommended.
Delayed Laser Beam
It draws a line on the ground first before it does damage.
Tail Smash
After smashing the ground, Scorch's scorpion tail leaves behind little sand whirlpools that slow you down and pull you into their center.

Titan's Ridge Boss:
The Baron

Phase 1 attack pattern:

Stationary Lightning Strikes
Very telegraphed. Run in between the vertical red bars before they strike.
Quick Lightning Stike
Telegraphed as well, but super fast. Just dash away from the red circle underneath you. I wasn't quick enough most of the time.

Phase 2 attack pattern:

Horizontal Stationary Lightning Strikes
Same as in Phase 1, except the lighting bars are horizontal instead of vertical.
Quick Lightning Strike
Same as in Phase 1.
Multiple Quick Lightning Strikes
There's a bunch of red circles to avoid this time.

The Baron also throws mobs at you while you are busy dodging his attacks. You can have Corwin back in town focus on your most-hated mob if that helps. You go through 5 waves and then you're done... and so is the Baron. The end.

Thank You
These folks have helped with tips and/or confirmations, much appreciated!

for Boomer, i did it in shifting sands, but instead of the sand fleas, i did it to those green sword goblins. just slash them all once and use your boom balloon. i did it in a screen with 3 goblins and 1 earth elemental. ignore the earth elemental.

Just a tip as to the pirate game: select first the chest on the right.
Then:
If he opens the middle chest, hit the left chest.
If he opens the left chest, hit the right chest.

@katukinabarra Hi, it's been a long while since I last played but I think you're right that "Foothills" and "Vinelands" are the same. There are also beats in town and I don't know if those count for Foothills/Vinelands. Good luck!

Hello, the map tells me I am missing 1 beat in "Foothills", is "Foothills" and "Vinelands" the same thing?

I'm pretty sure I didn't shut down all the furnaces in one run. You just have to shut down each unique furnace, but there's no way to know if you've already done it until you hit the mini boss near the end because they're all different for each kind of furnace.

maybe that "Decommissioner" mean to beat all four furnace in one run?

@[Boc] Oshroth Thanks for the tip, I'll add to the guide.
