Here I'll show you all the CUPHEAD weapons, you will see which one you like the most and which one you should use in the levels.

Peashooter

Peashooter - This is the first weapon of the game and is the best in my opinion because is very simple to use.

EX: Mega Blast - Fires a large blue fireball that deals considerable damage. It will hit a target three times before disappearing, a good burst of damage that can be aimed in all eight directions.

Damage: 4

EX Damage:  8.33 (per hit)
            25 (max)

DPS: 30

Spread

Spread - Is a high damage spread weapon that works close to your target.  It is best used to deal high burst damage when the opportunity presents itself, especially when the boss is stationary. 

EX: Eight Way - Fires 8 large spikes that deal high damage, but move very slowly.

Damage: 1.24 (per shot)
        6.2 (all shots)

EX Damage: 4.3 (per shot)
           34.4 (max)

DPS: 41.33 (all shots)

Chaser

Chaser - Fires projectiles at the nearest target. Deals half the damage of the Peashooter.  Best used when concentration is better spent on dodging.

 EX: Chaos Orb - Generates four slightly larger projectiles that surround the player and protect them from approaching enemies. Good when some bosses have more monsters like Cagney Carnation.

Damage: 2.85

EX Damage: 7 (per shot)
           28 (max)

DPS: 17.1

Lobber

Lobber - Fires a projectile that arcs upwards, then falls back down and bounces off the ground until it bounces three times and explodes. Each shot inflicts about three times as much damage as the Peashooter. Good against bosses like Grim Matchstick.

EX: Kablooey - Like a Lobber shot, but bigger and with Area of Effect damage that deals the same area damage. Affected by gravity

Damage: 11.6

EX Damage: 28

DPS: 33.14

Charge

Charge - A high damage, high velocity shot that requires the player to hold down the fire button for maximum effectiveness. If the fire button is released before the charge is complete, a small, low-damage projectile will be fired. It takes a lot of precision to use.

EX: Radial Burst - Fires a short-range, but large area-of-effect burst of damage.

Damage: 6 (uncharged)
        46 (charged)

EX Damage: 26

DPS: 35.38

Roundabout

Roundabout - Fires a projectile that comes back like a boomerang. Best used when shooting backwards or running away from obstacles and to set up damage.

EX: Jumbo Bounce - Fires a larger version. You can dodge it and it will chase you until all seven hits are used up or it touches the player again.

Damage: 8.5

EX Damage: 5 (per hit)
           35 (max)

DPS: 31.875

Crackshot (DLC)

Crackshot- It is a weapon that automatically aims at enemies AND breaks into weaker aimed projectiles.
 
EX: P.Turrett - A pink planet-shaped turret that fires a projectile at the nearest enemy five times and then disappears. It can be stopped and will send it into the enemy like a cannon.

Damage: 10.56 (Uncracked)
       6.7 (Cracked)

EX Damage: 3.5 (Turret projectile)
           14 (planet)

DPS: 30 (Uncracked)
     17 (Cracked)

Convergence (DLC)

Converge - Fires three bolts of electricity that can pass through enemies and objects.
 
EX: Electro Bolt- Fires an horizontal bolt of electricity that passes through enemies in the direction the player is facing.

Damage: 2.67 (Per shot)
       8.01 (All shots)

EX Damage: 21

DPS: 33

Convergence (DLC)

Converge - Fires fire upwards. Recommended to use for enemies above you.
 
EX: Cyclone Spiral: Fires a larger light blue cyclone that rotates in a circular pattern from the original firing location, increasing its radius over time. It will strike six times before disappearing.

Damage: 2.33 (Per shot)
      6.99(All shots)

EX Damage: 8 (Per shot)
         48 (max)

DPS: 31

roundabout does more damage than peashooter? That makes it objectively better considering that it is way easier to hit with it

I forgot to mention my list of the best weapons of cuphead too:

1st place: Peashooter. (easiest weapon to use and good dps).

2nd place: Lobber. (his massive dmg it's pretty great).

3rd place: Spread. (really easy to use as peashooter, and deals tons of dmg as lobber).

4th place: Charge. (it's good only when it's charged, it's ok too).

5th place: Roundabout. (not too much dmg but good if you know to use it).

6th place: Chaser (due his damage, it's the worst).

I would say lobber and peashooter are the best weapons in the game. Peashooter it's easy to use and it does good damage, and lobber makes massive damage and it's just a little more harder to use than peashooter.
