Land of the Free (USA Overhaul Mod)

Land of the Free is a complete overhaul mod for The United States of America in Europa Universalis IV.
The American Dream DLC was released many years ago, but leaves a lot to be desired when considering all the extra content that has been expanded upon since then.

Of course, much of US history exists outside of the timeline of EU4. That makes it hard to have a true American experience within the game. With that in mind, the timetable has been turned back for this mod, and the player will be able to experience an incredible amount of historical events and flavor surrounding the USA tag within the 1444-1821 timeline!

You will be able to play as the USA in a bookmark that has been placed in 1535, newly independent from England and allied to France.
However, the intended path of this mod is to begin as England in the 1444 start date, unite the British Isles, and form Great Britain. The admin tech requirement to form Great Britain has been removed.
Upon forming Great Britain you will unlock the new mission path from Land of the Free on the left side of the tree. The mission "Sea Venture" is the one you'll want to look for, and you will want to follow that branch.
Once you finish that branch of the tree you will be prompted to switch over to the Thirteen Colonies, where you will have the option to play as a loyal subject and grow stronger, or push for revolution. The pace is up to you.
The revolution will be initiated via the mission tree, so take care to pay attention to the mission rewards.

After independence the USA will be formed and North America is your sandbox. There are multiple branches to the brand new, fully custom mission tree for the USA. The are economic, conquest/colonization, and diplomatic branches, as well as a very powerful post-civil war branch that you will certainly want to explore!

You may also choose to go the alternate history route, taking the Confederacy to victory and stomping out the United States, dealing with the social and economic issues that a victorious south would have likely faced.

In the 1.3 Awakening update you will now be able to play as Methodist, Baptist, or Mormon religions with built in spread and conversion mechanics.

Both Trade Goods Expanded and Advisors Expanded are closely integrated into Land of the Free. They are not required, but very highly recommended for the optimal LotF experience.

Is this mod Ironman compatible?

• While you are able to play in Ironman mode, achievements will be disabled as the checksum is modified by the mod files. Mod achievements are planned for future updates, so stay tuned for that.

What languages are supported?

• English is the only language currently supported, and is the only language with plans for support. If you use another language you will have a lot of issues with broken localization.
