This graphical improvement is a combination of 3 modifications that I found that work perfectly well together, I will give you the instructions separately so that you do not have any problems when installing it.

NOTE: If you are only interested in one of these 3 improvements, you can also only apply separately, no problem.

The reason I decided to make my first guide is because I think all army men RTS fans should be able to enjoy it in this quality.

I'm not going to lie to you if it takes you a little time but it's worth it.

1) TEXTURES HD

---

Army Men RTS - high resolution texture pack is a mod for Army Men RTS, created by AntonioR. (all the credit and work belongs to him.)

Description (in author’s own words):

"High resolution texture pack for Army Men RTS made using algorithm based on Deep Convolutional Neural Networks".

Well this is the quickest and simplest step, you just have to download and replace:

• 1) The first step is to enter this page and download the 52.6 MB RAR file Download here[www.gamepressure.com]
  Wait 10 seconds and then download from "ALAMO"
  
  
• 2) Unzip the rar file and you will have this folder with 3 textures folders inside
  
• 3) Open the TEXTURES folders and copy the folders inside them to Army Men RTS installation folder. No original files will be replaced, since they are in archives (the game automagically loads the new textures in folders that have the same name as the archives).
  
  Files from folder 1 to be copied to the Army men RTS installation folder:

And that's it we finish with the texture mod

2) RESOLUTION AND ANTIALIASING

Well this part is also download and replace but we are going to configure some details:

• 1) We are going to enter this page and download the latest version of Dg voodo .Download here[dege.freeweb.hu]
  
• 2) Well now we are going to copy the rar file into the army men RTS installation folder
  and unzip.
  
• Enter the "MS" folder .
  
• Then the "x86" folder.
  
• Move "D3DImm.dll" and "DDraw.dll" to where you have your game installed.
  
• 3) Run "dgVoodooCpl.exe" Under the "General" tab change the option for "Output API" to be "Direct3D 12 (feature level 12.0)"(Keep in mind that if you use windows 7 or you have a graphics card that is not compatible with direct3D 12, you must put the option direct3D 11) .
  
  
  
• Click the "DirectX" tab, here you can configure the screen resolution that you have (1080p,1440p,4k), also select the antialising x2, x4 or x8 (as long as the performance of your pc can do it) and also force the anisotropic x16 for the textures (any pc can run it) please make sure you have all the options checked Like the picture up, then apply and close.
  Note: if your graphics card does not have 4 gb of VRAM or more, choose a lower option that is the same as your card.

PERFECT WE END WITH THE IMPROVEMENT OF RESOLUTION AND ANTIALIASING

3) RESHADE

This mod/preset is designed to help you get the sharpest, cleanest image you may get out of your game without the need to force anything upon your gpu and taken a massive performance hit.

Well this is the last step, we will have to download a program called RESHADE and then place the custom file of this creator for Army Men RTS

:

• 1)We are going to go to the RESHADE page and download the latest version Download here[reshade.me]
  
• Run the file after the download finishes
  
• Click on "Click here to select a game and manage its ReShade installation"
  
• Either wait and click the game in the auto search or click the bottom right corner button, "Browse...", and search for the game's exe. Ex: amrts.exe
  
• When prompted with the question, "Which rendering API does amrts use?", select "Direct3D 10/11/12"
  
• Check mark "Standard effects", "SweetFX by Ceejay.dk", and "qUINT by Marty McFly"
  
• Click "OK" 3 times
  
• I highly recommend then clicking on "Edit ReShade settings"
  
• Then checking off on "Skip Tutorial" then "OK"
  
• Close ReShade installer
  
• 2) Download the mod/preset and just extract it where you installed ReShade or where the game's exe is located and overwrite any files if prompted (you will need to register to download the file it is free and it will not take long). Download here[www.nexusmods.com]

Nevermind? I got a 2nd monitor and all a sudden this game works with mods and everything.

i somehow have the issue where using the dgvoodoo passthru for enabling the antialiasing to just give me the error for no directx 8 compatible card, the problem lies in laptop systens with optimous or smart switching between integrated and discreet, in the general menu in the "adapters to use/enable" select "use all of them" that way intel can still start the game and the discreet card can pick it up once its launched, hope that helps someone out there!

With you have problem with HUD here a tip:

On dgVoodoo in directX set:

- Video card - 9800GT

in game set the resolution:
1280x720 32bits

the HUD will appear on Widescreen proportion (16:9) and you fit better on screen.

The resolution thingy is kinda bugged for some reason. When i start the game it starts in like small windowed mode and no key can undo it. When i change the resolution in game the window either gets bigger or smaller, but doesnt go full screen.
