The Elder Scrolls V: Tamrielic Calendar

The Tamrielic calendar is composed of twelve distinct months sometimes called "Seasons",each approximately thirty days in length.Each month has an associated constellation,which is said to affect the traits of anyone born in that month,and each month corresponds roughly to an equal period of time in the Gregorian calendar.The months - and their real-life equivalents - are measured as follows:





* These three months are variously referred to as one word or two words.
§ Hearthfire is occasionally referred to as Heartfire or Heart Fire,as found in the Codex Scientia. In Skyrim, "Heart Fire" is used exclusively on the game calendar,although it appears as "Hearth Fire" (as one or two words) in some books.
† Morning Star was not present in Morrowind,most likely omitted by accident.
‡ Except on a leap-year,when it's 29.

Note that the constellation of The Serpent does not correspond to any one month,because The Serpent wanders randomly around the sky.



Il calendario Tamrielico è composto da dodici mesi distinti a volte chiamati "Stagioni",ciascuno lungo circa trenta giorni.Ogni mese ha una costellazione associata,che si dice influenzi i tratti di chiunque sia nato in quel mese,e ogni mese corrisponde approssimativamente a un uguale periodo di tempo nel calendario gregoriano.I mesi - e i loro equivalenti nella vita reale - sono misurati come segue:

A week in the Tamrielic calendar is also,as with the real-life equivalent, measured in seven days.The names of the days are mostly different corruptions of the same naming scheme we have on the English calendar,only with the exception of Middas and Loredas.Sundas,Morndas,Tirdas,Turdas and Fredas are respectively different corruptions of Sun,Moon,Tyr,Thor and Frigg,the same as the English calendar.Middas could mean the day at the middle of the week,as traditionally the deities corresponding to Wednesday (Wodanaz (Odin) / Mercury / Hermes) could not possibly be corrupted to form a "mid-" stem.It would,however,be analogous to the German word for Wednesday,"Mittwoch", and its literal English translation and synonym "midweek".Loredas is most likely taken from the Nordic languages where Saturday is called a "Bath Day" - "lördag","lørdag," or "laurdag",in place of the Roman God Saturn,as the Vikings had a habit of bathing on Saturday.

The Tamrielic calendar being the same as the Gregorian calendar implies that Nirn has the exact same rotational speed, orbit, and size as Earth, though this is probably just so it's easier to keep track of.
