Daist

Daist is a German city alongside the Rhine with 512.00 inhabitants, wich makes it the second biggest city in Hessen after Frankfurt.

Although the city was founded in medieval times, it became the city it is today during the 19th century with it's industrial revolution. The city has lots of plattenbau (a typical german form of social housing) for it's workers. the biggest industry is the chemical industry in the district of Nüringen.

Together with Mannheim and Ludwigshafen it forms the Rhein-neckar dreieck.

The main touristic hotspots are the old centre, the old university, the daister stadtzoo, the citadel and the forsterturm.

Daist has 3 soccer clubs.
FC Daist 05 wich plays in the bundesliga,
Eintracht Daist, the oldest club wich plays in the 2. Bundesliga
and FSV Nüringen 56 wich plays in the 3. Liga.
