Introduction
This issue usually persists because your either your Teredo is unable to qualify and/or the game tries to connect to Xbox servers via IPv6.

Now let's fix the issue.
Fixing Teredo
Before doing any of this, please check if Teredo works correctly!

You can do so by typing "netsh interface teredo show state" in CMD with admin privileges, besides State it should say "Qualified" and if that's the case please move on to the next possible fix, otherwise continue with this then do the 2nd.

Press Windows + R and type gpedit.msc then press enter

Now you should have Local Group Policy Editor opened up, under Computer Configuration expand Administrative Templates and find the folder named All Settings (should be the last one) click on it and there should be a very long list on the right side, find Set Teredo State and double click

In the newly opened window, change it to Enabled then under options choose Enterprise Client

New addition thanks to ColonelCain :

After setting Teredo to Enable, next open CMD or Powershell with admin privileges, then run the following command:

gpupdate /force

How: This command will force a refresh of all policies applied to your PC. When modifying Administrative Templates, the configuration change is not implemented until a restart or a fixed amount of time after changing the setting.

Why: Computers not registered in an enterprise domain will use the default Group Policy refresh window, which is a minimum of a 1 to 30min offset once the setting is applied. Sometimes the system will not apply the setting until the background process runs - which is every two hours. The above command will force this setting to be applied immediately.

Disabling IPv6
Thanks to Gianni, who pointed out this fix under my fix guide, which I also happened to do while trying to fix my game, but never though it was the issue, anyways..

First start by right-clicking on the internet icon located on the bottom right of your screen

Then on the newly opened window, click on "Change adapter options"

On this new window, double click on the adapter you use to game with, then click on "Properties" afterwards on the small window

Now we just have to remove the tick from "Internet Protocol Version 6"

After doing this you should be able to become online in Halo Infinite

There is a another fix also that I found today on reddit and worked perfectly here.

Go into search -> Credential manager -> Windows Credentials -> scroll down until you see - windows live - click it. if it matches your xbox account, remove it. then close and open halo infinite on steam. then it should ask you to login. and it should be fixed.

Tell if worked for you too and share

I appreciate this post and tried everything here but still here in 2024, I can't play. I used to be able to play this back when it came out, I'm on the same PC I've changed nothing since, just normal Windows updates (win 10). Ever since around the start of season 2 idk for sure, that's when I haven't been able to play. I've tried so many different fixes to get Halo Infinite working but as soon as I get into the game lobby I get the "Transitioning" in the top right then a few seconds later I always get "Unable to connect to the Halo Infinite Lobby Service." I can't get into Muilterplayer either, it says "Multiplayer is unavailable. Please try again later." What's weird is I can load the store, and even buy credits if I wanted to. Idk what to do, I'm so lost. Even on Halo waypoint, I've submitted a ticket they don't know why and can't seem to fix this.

If anyone has found solutions that worked and you've had the same problems as me PLEASE tell me, I beg you!

Yeah my teredo was qualified, so I did the next step. Still busted. Its outrageous this has been an issue since season 1, it is now season 3 ( 1 year and 6 months later) and its STILL AN ISSUE. But thank you for attempting to fix this massively annoying bug, cause 343 still hasn't. If anyone has found another fix please let me know, thanks.

Yeah, am not going do all this s*** for a game that barely functions. Funny part is that i use Forza Horizon 5 from Ms store and have 0 connection issues.

But thank you for a very good teredo troubleshooting guide

What if in gpedit, I don't have the "Teredo State" option?
GheoLei  [author] Dec 11, 2021 @ 5:24am
That's weird, perhaps it's caused by something else, so I suggest you Google the issue to find other possible fixes

did all the steps, Teredo is still offline,

Unfortunately all these steps don't work for me. I have however posted this issue on Halo support hope someone at 343 looks at it. *crosses fingers*
