It describes an optimal path to get 5 Hearts with your Roommate, which reveals the bonus Missionary scene.
It also explains game mechanics such as Cheating and Hearts.

This guide was written based on my experience of playthroughs of the game My Cute Roommate version 1.6.13ex on Steam.
I am not the developer of the game and have no connections or contact with the developers.
Therefore I cannot say that the contents of this guide are facts, they are based purely on my own observations.

CAUTION:
This is a guide for an 18-cert Adult game. Therefore I will be using adult language in this guide where relevant. Due to Steam language filtering, I have altered some words slightly, for example: Di_ck.

BUGS:
A number of people have reported game-breaking bugs in the game. It is believed that these are caused by either buying some items too early or by viewing scenes from the main menu. They may also be caused by taking too long to visit places. In my playthroughs I have never experienced these bugs. I urge you to at least read the Cheating section before you start your game.

CLEAN START:
If you have already played the game and want to remove all saved data, you need to delete all files from the following 2 directories:

• Your Steam library: ..\Steam\steamapps\common\My Cute Roommate\game\saves
  
• Your User: C:\Users\<yourname>\AppData\Roaming\RenPy\My_cute_roommate1

AppData is a hidden directory - if you cannot see it, click View and tick "Hidden items".
The "persistent" file contains the unlocked Gallery and Scenes. If you delete this file you will lose the ability to Tab through scenes quickly on your next playthrough.

THE BASICS

Characters:

• Main Character: Male. You can set the name at game start.
  
• Roommate (RM): Female. You can set the name at game start.
  
• Emily: RM's friend. Likes to be photographed.
  
• Dean: Runs the college.
  
• Librarian (Anna): Study here to raise intellect. Anna can translate the 2nd massage book. She likes sweets.
  
• Salesgirl: Runs the shop. Has the screwdriver.
  
• Di_ck: RM's work colleague.
  
• Doctor: Explains your medical situation. Provides the medical cert.
  
• Nurse: Will help you with your sperm donations if you ejaculate on the floor the first time.
  
• Trainer: Sells a gym membership. Will later train you to fight.
  
• Director: RM's boss.
  
• Secretary (Jenny): Likes to be photographed. Provides the last book for Anna. She likes sweets.
  
• Jamal: Sells the sleeping pills, sex pills and massage oil.
  
• Barbara: Anna's friend.

Hearts:

The Hearts reflect the strength of your relationship with each woman and how likely you are to succeed with some actions.
Hearts are usually added or subtracted by story-based events.
Giving gifts (like sweets or massages) very rarely increase the Hearts. However it will help in preventing Hearts from being lost due to neglecting your RM.
This is very important as the RM can lose Hearts very quickly if you don't give her some attention each day.

It is possible to end the game with 5 Hearts for the RM, which unlocks a bonus sex scene (missionary position). To do this, it is essential that the RM never loses Hearts.

There are a number of ways you can prevent Hearts being lost for the RM:

• Give her a compliment either at 11:00 OR at 20:00. You can give compliments outside of these times but they are usually less effective and only one will work per day.
  
• When she is at 2 Hearts or more, touch her bum in the kitchen at 20:00.
  
• When you have learned how to give massages, give her a basic massage (no pills or oil) in her room at 22:00.

Try to do at least one of the above every day.

There are some actions that will result in Hearts being lost for the RM. These include:

• Choosing disrespectful comments.
  
• Jerking off in the bathroom (it's better to sell sperm at the doctor's instead, plus you get paid for it).
  
• Entering the RM's room without knocking.
  
• Entering the RM's room without first taking a shower.
  
• Not interacting with the RM for a day.
  
• Trying some of the actions below without having enough Hearts to succeed.

The number of Hearts on the RM determines what actions you can succeed at with her. You need this number of Hearts or higher to avoid being rejected.

• 1 Heart: Can watch DVD3 once.
  
• 2 Hearts: Compliment in bedroom: nice ass, nice tits and can ask to see tits (she never shows them). Can disrobe her before she goes to the bathroom. Can get caught spying on her in the bathroom. Can get caught watching her exercise in her bedroom. Can touch her bum in the kitchen.
  
• 3 Hearts: Can touch her bum and pus_sy in the kitchen. Can wake her up to have sex (she will refuse but is still happy).
  
• 4 Hearts: Can touch her bum and pus_sy and remove her shorts in the kitchen. Can wake her up to have sex. Can join her in the shower.
  
• 5 Hearts: Missionary sex scene.

Cheating:

There are various options for cheating in the game.
I recommend to try the Intellect and Strength games yourself and then use the cheat sliders.
Breakpoints include:

• Strength: 5 to get a job in the shop. Max to make the fight training easy.
  
• Intellect: 10 to allow Anna to share what she has learned from the 3rd book. 20 to get into college.

There is also an option to add a button to the minigames that allows you to skip them and immediately award the bonus.
When this is enabled and you are in the Store, you get a new button that allows you to add/remove most items to/from your inventory. This can be useful if you bought something by mistake that is preventing you from continuing the story (such as the upgraded drone). To remove an item, click the green Inventory button beside it. If an item is not available in the shop, click the Shop button.
I did not use the minigame or store cheats in this walkthrough.

For money, you can either do jobs (gym in the morning, shop warehouse, sell sperm) or cheat to add money.
I find that $6000 is enough for the entire game. You can do this as soon as you get to the Store.
It's ok to buy most items that are in the shop when you go there, except:
Warning: Do not buy the upgraded drone until the game tells you to.
Warning: Do not buy the Harley Quinn or Ninja cosplay outfits until after the Cowgirl photoshoot with Emily.
There are reports that buying these items early can break the game.

I do not recommend watching any scene in the main menu before it has happened, as it might break the triggers in the game [unconfirmed].

It can be useful to cheat to take a shower (Clean) or to add/remove an erection.

Saves:

Save often, at least every 10 to 20 minutes. This is to avoid a lot of frustration from having made a mistake which is easy to do.
Use lots of save slots, in case you encounter a bug.
If you get 2 or more options on screen then that's a good time to make a save.
On an SSD, a save takes about 4 seconds and a load takes about 7 seconds.

Controls:

• F1 opens the instructions for the game.
  
• Click on the clock time to advance it by one hour.
  
• Use the mouse wheel or arrow keys to scroll the inventory.
  
• Right-click opens the Menu to the Save screen. Right-click returns to the game.
  
• Page Up or mouse wheel will sometimes return to the previous scene, in case you missed something.
  
• Press Tab to skip quickly through scenes you have already seen, pausing when interaction is needed. Press Tab again to disable that mode. This is useful if you need to reload an old save or have already watched the same scene.
  
• There is no button to hide the UI in this game. It should be H or middle mouse button but it doesn't work.
  
• When taking photos, you can toggle the overlay by clicking the camera or phone icon.
  
• For the strength, fapping and licking "games", you are told to click the mouse or press the spacebar repeatedly. It is much faster if you do both at the same time.

Fighting:

You will be forced to lose all fights until you learn how to fight in the Gym.
After this, save before doing any fights as the outcome can be random.
I find mashing the middle button works best.

Sex Scenes:

You don't need to wait for the di_ck meter to fill up - once the head goes red, click on that.
However, if there is a pus_sy meter, you should wait for that to fill up as it should award more Hearts to your partner.
There is usually an option to speed up the scene and to watch it from different angles.
Sometimes the blue arrow will advance to a new sex scene. But sometimes it ends the sex early. It's never clear which it will do. Save if in doubt.
Turning up the Music volume in Preferences will add sounds to the sex scenes.

Map Travel:

It takes one hour to go to a new location.
If you need to be at a location at a certain time then travel there one hour before. Or go there early and advance the time.
The main locations and times are:

• RM does morning exercises at 08:00, goes for a shower at 09:00, returns to her room at 10:00 and leaves for work at 11:00.
  
• RM is at the office from 12:00 to 18:00.
  
• RM arrives home at 19:00, enters the kitchen at 20:00, watches TV at 21:00, goes to her room at 22:00 and is asleep at 23:00.
  
• Emily is at home from 17:00 to 22:00 and her photo shoots end at 23:00.
  
• The store is open all day up to 22:00.
  
• The salesgirl is in the back room of the store at 23:00.
  
• Jamal is available at night from 23:00 onwards.
  
• The upgraded drone should be used at home between 23:00 and 03:00.
  
• Reading a book at home takes 1 hour.

All Gallery photos can be gathered in one playthrough but you will need to save and reload at key moments to see all branches.

WALKTHROUGH - Part 1

This is a recommended walkthrough but you can deviate from it as you wish or do some things in a different order. If you are unsure, just make a save first.
In general, avoid making obviously rude remarks. Or make a save first, see what happens and then reload.
Avoid buying items until the walkthrough tells you to.

If you want to get 5 Hearts with your RM, the most important thing is to never continue if an action caused your RM to lose Hearts or to be angry with you.

INTRO:
Enter a name for the main character and the RM. You can change the name by pressing Backspace. There is a cursor but it is difficult to see.

Knock twice on the door.
Meet your RM.
"Hello, does RM live here?"
"Nice sofa!"
In the kitchen, click on her shorts and the poster.
"Good idea"
When you go for a shower, do not jerk off.
Thank her for the sandwich
Ask about the college
"You've become so beautiful"
Exit the conversation with the blue arrow.
That night, after she goes to bed, enter her room.
Pull down the sheet and then pull it up again. SAVE if you want to try to remove her pyjamas.
Go to bed on the sofa until morning.
The next morning have a shower and enter her room without knocking.
"Sorry, I didn't think about it"
"Perfect!"
Ask: Are there any stores nearby?
Ask: Where can I find a job?
Ask: Did you just finish your exercises?
Don't do any compliments for now.
At 09:00 she'll go to the bathroom. SAVE if you want to click her belt (Gallery:26) but reload before continuing.
While she is in the bathroom, try to enter it and you learn about the screwdriver.
At 11:00, she will leave the apartment.
"Is your friend hot?"

After the RM leaves, wait one hour and Emily will arrive.
"One moment!"
Open the door.
Click her breasts.
Click all dialog options from the top down.

After Emily leaves, go to the College.
Always knock on the door before using the handle.
Click her breasts.

Leave and go to the Library.

Study. This can be done once per day. If you try it more often, it reduces the time available to complete.

Leave and go to the Store.
"Do you have a screwdriver?"
Ask about a job. You need 5 strength to be allowed to work there.
"Show tits"
You need $50 to see her tits and $100 to see her pus_sy. After you see her tits a second time, she offers to be naked for $300. Therefore you need $500 to complete this path.
You can use your cheat to get more money or wait until you get a job.
Show products:
If you only have $200 and don't want to cheat, buy Books: Stretching and Lovers and also Miscellaneous: Machine oil.
If you cheat to get more money, then buy almost everything (see warnings below).
You only need Collegegirl 4 part 1 (DVD3). The other DVDs are used to unlock Gallery scenes.
For the purpose of this guide I will assume you cheated and bought everything in the store, except for:
Warning: Do not buy the upgraded drone until the game tells you to.
Warning: Do not buy the Harley Quinn or Ninja cosplay outfits until after the Cowgirl photoshoot with Emily.

Leave and go home.
Either cheat to turn your erection off or jerk off in the bathroom and clean up the mess.
In the bathroom, use the machine oil from your inventory.
In the living room, use the machine oil from your inventory.
Read the Photographer book, this advances time by one hour.
Read the Guru book, this advances time by one hour. Go to the kitchen at 20:00.
Click on RM and Look at her and then Talk to her.
Speak about Emily.
Use the coffee in your inventory, click on the coffee machine, click on the coffee cup.
If you didn't tell the RM she is gorgeous earlier, you can tell her now that she is beautiful.
Advance by clicking the blue arrow.
On the sofa, click on the Stretching book in your inventory (this may put her on 1 Heart).
At 22:00 knock on her bedroom door and enter.
Ask her what she's reading.
Leave and go to sleep until morning.

In the morning, have a shower, knock on her door and enter.
Ask: Did you like the book?
At 10:00 when she returns to her room, use the drone from your inventory (Gallery:04).
At 11:00, tell her she's gorgeous and to have a nice day.
Wait one hour and answer the door.
"One moment!"
Fight until you lose.
"Your name matches your personality".
Rest on the sofa until evening.
Have a shower and advance time until the RM returns home.
Use the drone from your inventory (Gallery:03).
Go to the kitchen and Talk to her.
Speak about Di_ck - Di_ck is an ass_hole.
When she goes to her room, use the drone.
Sleep until morning.

At the doctor, read his long story.
The nurse will then get you started on your long quest to have sex with 9 women (Gallery:31).

Go to the Library.
Gift her the first Lovers book from your inventory.

Go to the Store.
"I need help"
Buy the Stretching book.
When you leave she may say that she gets excited at the end of the day. If not, visit the store on other days until she does say it.

Go to the Gym.
Watch the trainer (Gallery:09).
Call the trainer.
Ask about a job - "Yes"
"I'd like to join your gym"
Buy a membership - 10 visits.

Exit (green arrow).
In your inventory click the sportswear.
For the strength game, mash the spacebar and left mouse button repeatedly at the same time.

Cheat to shower and go to Emily if you can arrive there by 17:00.

Return home and sleep. You may find Jamal at this time, it's a random event on the streets at night.

In the morning, shower, then knock on the RM's door and enter.
Gift her the Stretching book.
She should now be on 1 Heart.
Compliment her when you like, but there is no benefit to giving more than one compliment per day.
Also, most compliments in her bedroom require 2 Hearts.

Go to the Library.
Ask: Did you like the book?
Either Study or go to the Gym.
In the Gym, you need to click your Gym membership card in your inventory.

Go to the Store.
Buy the Lovers book and the 2 cosplay clothes.

Go to the Doctor.
Jerk off and cu_m on the floor.
Cheat:Clean, Cheat:Erection and ask for help to masturbate (Gallery:32).

Go to the Library.
Gift her the second Lovers book.

Return home and shower.
Advance time until you're sitting on the Sofa.
RM should talk to you about Emily and ask you for a photoshoot.

At 08:00 use the drone (Gallery:18).
At 09:00, go to the Library.

WALKTHROUGH - Part 2

Shower, knock on her door and enter.
Gift her the satin slip from your inventory.

She should now be on 2 Hearts. If not, compliment her each day until she goes to 2.
Your RM will be on 2 Hearts for a long time.
It is important to keep her happy during this time so she doesn't lose Hearts.
So repeat the compliments and touch her bum each day where possible.

Go to the Library.
Click Anna's breasts.
Ask: Did you like the third book?
You need 10 intellect to discuss the book.
Study or go to the Gym.

Go to the Doctor.
Sell sperm.
Before clicking "Ask for help..." take a sex pill.
"Ask for help to masturbate"
Click the red arrow (Gallery:07).

Return home and shower.
Advance time until RM arrives home.
She wants to talk to you in the kitchen - this unlocks the Office.
On 2 Hearts: Touch her bum. You can now do this every evening, if on 2 Hearts or more.
Talk to her

If you didn't compliment her earlier, say "You look beautiful!"

At 22:00 go to the Store.
Go to the back of the Store (green arrow).
Click on her pus_sy.
Get the screwdriver (Gallery:08).

Return home.
Go into your RM's room.
Pull down the sheet.
Pull the sheet down more.
Lift up the lower end of her slip.
Click the blue drop.
Finger her pus_sy until she moans twice.
Exit the room and go to sleep.

Shower and remove erection.
Knock and enter her bedroom.
Ask: Do those clothes feel comfortable?
When she exits, on 2 Hearts, you can click her robe belt.
Go to the bathroom and use the screwdriver from your inventory.
Watch her and then click the green arrow (Gallery:01).

Go to the Store.

Buy the Stretching clothes.

Go to the Office.
Talk to the Secretary and click on her breasts.
Ask to see the RM.
Go to RM's office.
Exit and talk to the Secretary.

Go to Jamal.
Order the sleeping pills.
Return home and sleep.

Enter her room without knocking.
Leave during the 3rd exercise, before she catches you (Gallery:02).
Tell her she's gorgeous before she goes to work.

Go to the Store.
Buy the Lovers book (Try Everything) and the Ratcatcher.

Go to the Library.
Gift the Lovers book.

Go to the Doctor.
Sell sperm.

Return home, shower, wait until 16:00.
Go to Emily's.
Select the Harley Quinn outfit from your inventory (Gallery:37).

Go to Jamal.
Buy the sleeping pills.
SAVE
Mouse or rat.
Click on the rat. It can be in a random location. If you don't find it in time you will get another go or you can reload the save.
Return home and sleep. You may get a visit from your RM (Gallery:05).

Have a shower.
Go to the Library.
Ask: Did you like the last book?
"You can grab it"
Click the mouth icon (Gallery:06).

Go to the College.
Knock and enter.

Return home.
If you have more DVDs, you have time to watch them on the TV (Gallery:40,41,38,39).
Start the TV, select each one from your inventory and click through all the scenes until you loop back to the start. Then use the remote to turn off each DVD.
There is a full screen button in the top right but it's not necessary for the gallery unlocks.

Have a shower and wait for the RM to be in the kitchen.
Touch her bum.
Talk to her.
Make her a coffee - click on the Coffee in your inventory and then click on the coffee machine.
When the coffee is ready, click on the Sleeping Pills in your inventory and then click the cup to return to the table.
If you didn't compliment her earlier, say "You look beautiful!"
After she falls asleep, enter her room and undress her.
Smack her on the ass or finger her bum.
Fu_ck her pus_sy (Gallery:16).
Repeat as desired. Each time you fu_ck her pus_sy or ass, your potency goes up 1.
Exit when finished and go to sleep.

Shower and compliment your RM.
Go to the College.
"What should I do?"

Go to Barbara's.
Jerk off.
Put on the speedos.

Go to the office.
Go to the Director's office.
Ask about the photo
Talk to the Secretary Jenny.

When you are prompted to release the rat, immediately select it in your inventory.

View any of the photos in the folder (Gallery:34).
Read the mails to find the one about the red folder.

Return home and wait until 23:00.
Use the upgraded drone to spy on Barbara's Pool up to 03:00.
When you have photos of the girls (Gallery:12), send the drone to the Director's Bedroom to get photos of her and Di_ck (Gallery:19).

* Learn how to Fight, part 2:
Cheat up to 20 or Max Strength. It can be done on lower strength if you have a good memory.
Go to the Gym.
Fight training.
Wait for the trainer to highlight a square on the grid and then click that square. Each turn, a new square is added to the previous sequence. The higher your strength, the fewer turns you will need to go through (max strength = 5 turns).
When you know how to fight, return to Emily's any day at 17:00 to repeat the fight. SAVE before starting the fight as the outcome can be random.
Emily gives you a reward (Gallery:22).

* Blackmail - Photos of Barbara and Anna:
Go to Barbara's house.
Ring the doorbell.
"I need Barbara"
Show her the photos.
Ring the doorbell.
Show her more photos.
Go to the College.
Knock on the door.
Enter.
"Anna is home"

When confronted by Di_ck, use either option.
Let the conversation between the Demon and Angel play out until you are back with Di_ck (Gallery:65).

Walk around the city.
Go home. Shower. Wait for RM to return home.
Touch her fully.

Give her a basic massage.

You can also visit the other women and see their sex scenes but this is buggy and will often reduce their Heart score.

STUCK?

Many of the events in this game rely on triggers (pre-requisites) that must be completed before the next event can occur. When it seems like there is nowhere new to go, it's because one or more triggers have not yet been done. Many times, it is not obvious what or where the triggers are and it is one of the biggest complaints that players have about this game.

Here are the sequences necessary to solve the more common areas to get stuck.
It's possible that they won't work, in which case an earlier decision may have bugged the game. The most common game-breaking bug is buying the upgraded drone too early. If you experience this, it may be possible to continue by using the Store cheat to remove it from your inventory and buy it at the correct time.

In 5 games with this walkthrough I have never seen a game-breaking bug so these sequences should work.

Getting the Screwdriver:

• Pay for salesgirl to be fully naked
  
• Go to the doctor
  
• Ask salesgirl for help
  
• Visit the store a few times until she says she gets excited at the end of the day
  
• Arrive at the store at 23:00 and follow the arrow into the back
  
• When prompted, click on her pus_sy and you'll be rewarded with the screwdriver

When to free the Rat:

• Do 1st photo shoot with secretary to find out her fear
  
• Get the ratcatcher from the Store and a rat from Jamal
  
• Go to the Director's office and check the photos on her desk
  
• Ask the secretary for the 2nd photo shoot
  
• Arrive in time for the photo shoot
  
• Save, in case of problems with the next step
  
• When you are getting set up and she walks away from you, quickly release the rat from your inventory

Send Anna home:

• Anna runs away

• Office: Do 1 photo shoot with Emily in her home and then 1 photo shoot with the RM (TV and bedroom). The next evening, the RM will invite you to the office.
  
• Sleeping pills: Sneak into the RM's room at night after you have given her the satin slip and after you have oiled the bedroom door. Finger her pus_sy until she moans twice, but do not fu_ck her.
  
• Sex pills: On your first visit to the Doctor, ejaculate on the floor. Then ask the nurse for help to ejaculate.
  
• Learn to fight: Keep visiting Emily's to do different photo shoots (3 or 4) until you see her door is left open.
  
• Massage oil: While learning to fight at the gym you will be taught how to give a massage. Bring the 2nd massage book to Anna to be translated to learn about the oil.
  
• Rat: In the 1st photo shoot with the secretary, you learn she is scared of rats.
  
• Search Di_ck's office: Catch a rat and check the photos on the Director's desk before you do the 2nd photo shoot with Jenny.
  
• Barbara at the library: Have anal sex with Anna after she has read Jenny's book and get a drone photo of Derek.

ADVANCED - Dialog Edits

ADVANCED - Speed Run

While editing and play-testing various dialog changes I have completed the game a few more times and have found that, while the path taken in the above walkthrough works, it is not very efficient. There are a number of ways of doing things quicker and squeezing more actions into each day.

The biggest improvement was when I discovered that I could visit Emily any time up to 22:00 for a photo shoot. And I usually start by finding Jamal on the very first night.

My current "fastest" run is 20 days while testing MPS. That's to get the 5-star missionary scene and end the next morning. Somehow I lost a heart on the nurse (Lucy) and the salesgirl (Vanessa) which I recovered but also lost 2 hearts on Jenny which I couldn't recover from. This game is very strange about how hearts are lost.

I let the credits play out now, watched the cut-scene and finally ended up with 5 hearts with the RM.

Maybe it'll prevent other players like me, from assuming the game is over after the confrontation with Di_ck ( to make matters worse, the game tells you that you've finished the game, but haven't unlocked all content ), if you could consider inserting a statement in the last section . Something like...

Hi @Flamesabre,

The ad is just the conversation between the Demon and the Angel. They mention another game that the developer was working on and had planned to launch on Steam but Steam later blocked it and it's currently not available.

Di_ck will "kill" you whichever option you choose. After the video with the Angel and Demon, it will return to Di_ck saying that he couldn't kill you. That's when you get the option to Beat him or not act. Selecting Beat will bring you to the fight so you should save before it.

After the fight with Di_ck you'll still be on 4 hearts. You have to return to the RM and continue being nice to her. During that night, she'll go to 5 hearts and you'll see the new cutscene.

SAVE (as the outcome of the fight is random). --> Di_ck never gives an opportunity to fight him. He mentions that the protagonist is too strong and pulls a gun and kills him. I tried lowering the Strength with 'Cheats', but that seemed to have no effect on the final confrontation.

Your RM should now be on 5 Hearts. --> Is it possible to achieve 5 hearts, before the confrontation with Di_ck outside the office ?

I can't imagine playing this game without cheats - it would take ages to earn enough money to buy all the items. And considering how buggy the game can be, you could invest hours into earning money only for some game-breaking bug to ruin it all.

It might be a matter of pride for you to finish the game without cheats but I think this game just isn't worth that much frustration. You can spend hours grinding ... or you can just move that money slider and pretend you earned it. There is no in-game benefit to doing it the hard way.

So, when you do the above you'll be told that the Satin Slip is now available in the Store. When you go to the Store and buy everything, it will include the satin slip. So you should have it from the first full day. You can then gift it to the RM whenever you like.
