Hi guys! unfortunately the game Prince of Persia: Warrior within for computers has numerous technical problems, that's why I decided to create this guide, I will teach you how to improve your experience, so that you can play in a pleasant way.

(OPTIONAL) Before continuing, I recommend that you do a clean-install of the game.

● GAME DOES NOT OPEN!🔒

● The operating system used was Windows 10 with the latest version!

Many players have trouble launching the game because they don’t run it as an administrator. If you’re not experiencing issues, you can skip this step.

To fix this bug, you can try two simple methods:

● Modify a file in the game's root folder.

● Download and apply a small fix if the first method doesn't work.

Manually:

1) Go to the game's installation folder and locate the game icon shown below.⬇️

2) Right-click the icon, go to Compatibility, and enable Administrator Mode.

> That should resolve the issue, and the game should now start successfully!

Download a file: (OPTIONAL)

For the second method, we’ll use a file to enforce Administrator Mode for the game!

1) Download and extract the file.⬇️

2) Run the file "POP2 (x64).REG."

3) Move the file to the game’s installation folder.

4) Open the file and confirm the changes.

> Now the game should open without issues!😉

● WIDESCREEN RESOLUTION!🖥️

Prince of Persia: Warrior Within does not support modern screen resolutions and aspect ratios. To fix this, download the files from the link below.

1) Unzip the file ''pop2_widescreen''.

2) Extract the files from the "pop2" folder to the game directory. The password is "pop2".

3) Open the file ''pop2.ini''.

4) Set the desired resolution in [MAIN] and save with Ctrl+S or File > Save.

● Full HD: 1920x1080

● 2K WQHD: 2560x1440

● 4K Ultra HD: 3840x2160

NOTE: As the game is old, it is normal that the cutscenes are not in 16:9.

● SCENE AND AUDIO ARE OUT OF SYNCHRONIZED!🔇

⚠️ Do not play Prince of Persia: Warrion Within Above 60 FPS! various bugs in gameplay and scenes happen.

NOTE: lf you run the game above 60 FPS, the audio may get a little out of sync in game cutscenes and parkour may unexpectedly misbehave if the frame rate is above 60 FPS.

● To fix this issue, we need to limit the frame rate to any number below 60.

● Nvidia users can use the Nvidia Control Panel or even the MSI Afterburner if they prefer. It is not necessary to set it to 30FPS, 59 FPS is enough to fix the problem.

● AMD users can use AMD Chill or Framerate Target Control option to do the same

● I will use Nvidia as a reference, as it is the video card I have.

1) Open the Nvidia Control Panel

2) Manege 3D settings > Program Settings

3) Add Prince of Persia (pop2. exe)

4) Scroll through the options to the end and activate the following settings:

- Vertical Sync - On

- Maximum FPS Rate - 59 FPS

5) Apply and close

AS IN THE PICTURE BELOW⬇️

● In MSI Afterburner it's pretty easy too, just set the FPS you want, and that's it!

● By doing this, we've eliminated common issues such as why Prince won't grip the edges, out-of-sync audio, extremely fast animations, bugs, and so on.

● ADAPTATION FOR PS4 & XBOX JOYSTICKS!🎮

● IN CONTROL SUPPORT, I'll introduce you to a layout better suited for playing with a joystick - following something similar to the PS2 Settings. I'm using a PS4 controller, configured to work through the Steam Big Picture itself!

1) if you are having trouble recognizing the controller, use the steam / Big picture itself or a program called (DS4Windows) to recognize it.

2) Make sure your controller is connected and working before starting the game

3) Go to Options / Controls / GamePAD and adjust button mappings

● Basically, the game already comes with GamePAD support, we just need to map it manual!

● SKIP INTRO VIDEOS AND LOADING SCREENS💢

Tired every time you start the game, can't skip openings or loading screens? For that, I'll show you how to remove them, in the game's own folder.

Intro videos:

1. Go to game folder \ Video

2. Rename or delete files> LOGORP.BIK > UBIMTL.BIK > UBISOFT.BIK

● I recommend renaming it. if you want to redo it, just put the original name!

loading screens:

1. In the same Video folder, Rename or Delete the Files> LOADIN0.BIK > LOADLOP0.BIK > LOADOUT0.BIK > GO_GEN.BIK

NOTE: Deleting or renaming the Video folder skips loading screens, as well as intro videos and cutscenes.

● STEAM ARTWORK CUSTOM!🎨

(OPTIONAL)

For some reason, the Artwork and Background for the Prince of Persia franchise has not been updated for Steam's new vertical art formats.

● below I will leave for Download, suitable covers and custom background, for the current format.

NOTE: The link includes all the art from the five Prince of Persia games, if you want you can choose just (Warrior Within) or any other from the franchise!

1) To change the art, right-click the game > Manege > Clear Custom Artwork

2) To change background and logo, right click on default background > Set Custom Background / Logo

trying to limit my fps (59) on nvidia panel doesnt seem to allow me to apply to the game, idk what im doing wrong... it says access denied, this is first time happened unlike other games I've configured before

LOADLOP0.BIK takes only 1 second and LOADOUT0.BIK take half a secong.
If you replace LOADIN0.BIK with one of those two, the transition is more fluid.

LOADIN0.BIK in comparison takes 7 seconds.

I was wondering, i put the resolution file into the site VirusTotal just to be safe and it says theres a trojan in there, is it a false flag? Is this file actually safe? Sometimes things get false flags but i don't know :/ would appreciate any insight.
