Introduction
The following overview map for 14th December 1942 shows the general situation on the Eastern Front before the beginning of this operation (which covers the Soviet offensive towards Mozdok).
The location of the in-game operational area – the area around Shefatov northeast of Mozdok – has been marked with a red rectangle. Shefatov and Mozdok are named "Шефатов" and "Моздок" in Russian. In German and on German Army maps they are named "Schefatoff" and "Mosdok":

Notes:
  • The images above are scans of the original daily German Army High Command situation maps for the Eastern Front.
  • If you scroll to the north from Mozdok, then you can see the situation in Stalingrad. And southwest of Stalingrad you can see the positions of the 6th and 23rd Tank Divisions on their attempt to break through the encirclement during "Operation Winter Storm".
  • "Graviteam Tactics: Pivot Point" marks the farthest point on USSR territory reached by German troops during the war.

Very nice work Toni. As I often search for documents to accompany my Let's Play I know how much time it took to find the documents and maps. Question: Do you have a link or something for the mentioned documents of the 3.PzD?
