Don´t be mistaken, the game is the same chinese (IDLE-)game released in May 2020.
What you see now is just the New Version (released 03.11.2021)...

WARNING: If you play the NEW Version you start at ZERO again (meaning all gone!)
OLD vs NEW (Switch explained)
OLD version (->Beta switch):
..player who paid money in the old version, will receive vouchers equal to 60% of the money spent through in-game mail..

Progression OVERVIEW
According to the Developers changes are huge.. so I´ll list OLD and NEW Progression..
Big MILESTONES in first weeks: Stage 500 / 800 / 1100+ ..and Tower 300 / 500+


OLD -version
To get a rough idea of the old progression, I´ll cite my review..
60/100 ok at first..later mixed
  • After 10 hours: AccLv.40 -> PwrLv ~150k ^^
    -> 35% of Players make it here, the others drop out in first hours
  • 24 hours: AccLv.50 -> PwrLv ~200k (first 6star hero)
  • 30 hours: AccLv.56 -> PwrLv ~390k (first 7star hero)
  • Day3: AccLv.60 -> PwrLv ~440k (two 7star heroes + several 5/6star)
    -> 27,1% of Players came this far.. oh well, not much to do anymore.. walls everywhere ^^
  • Day4: AccLv.70 by AFK-ing ..PwrLv ~600k (8x 6star-hero / Castle Lv.10)
  • Day5: AccLv.80 -> PwrLv ~700k (first 8star hero, ..also: 2x 7star / 10x 6star-hero / Castle Lv.12)
    -> 20,3% of Players came this far..
  • Day6: AccLv.85 -> PwrLv ~950k (Castle Lv.13)
  • Day7: AccLv.88 -> PwrLv ~1,1M (first 9star hero, ..also: 3x 7star / 16x 6star-hero / Castle Lv.13)
    -> Achievements buggy..

Don´t buy the early packs, not worth it.
What seems nice in first hours in the game, turns out very basic later..

Some facts about the game, when the GRIND becomes real:
- AccLV.30+ gets slower.. AccLV.50+ needs you to push everywhere to make the next milestone
- Stage 50 first hard boss and the game begins
- Stage 111 no way without right setup and top-tier heroes
- Stage 129 impossible wall to prevent fast growth/leveling
- Stage 150+ is serious business (Lv.100+ Heroes and some 6stars)
- similar Issues in Tower of Infinity: stage 50+ is harder.. Stage 85+ brutal
- many Stage/Level-Locks: Smithy unlocks St.160, other stuff 200-400 mostly
EDIT:
- Campaign Stage221 / InfinityTower Stage200 .. my heroes ~Lv.130 ,while enemies ~Lv.180-200
-> powercreeps everywhere now.. stupid. Resources are required in truckloads and you need to farm much longer to step higher.. From here on skill doesn´t matter anymore.. time to move on ^^

Summary:
The game is quite ok, but more of a longterm-thing with daily-login and limited energy.
Decide for yourself, if that´s your cup of tea. In case it is, remember.. :
-> Guild is important + playing actively + smart decisions ..esp. if you don´t waste real money ;)

  • Campaign322 / Tower224 (2x 7star hero /11x 6star /100x 5star -> Party Lv.120-150)
Day 4:
  • AccLv.83 -> PwrLv ~810k
  • Campaign500 / Tower313 (2x 8star hero /4x 7star hero -> Party Lv.120-150)
Day 5:
  • AccLv.89 -> PwrLv ~1,1M

Notes:
- Stage 50 first real boss and the game begins
- Tower 87 huge wall
- Campaign 130+ few walls but GodlyHelper summon cleared it
- Campaign 177+ first big wall
- Tower 102+ huge wall
- Campaign 240 huge wall..
- Tower 137 wall.. (enemies 500k - Lv.180)
- Campaign 260 / Tower200 ..need 24hReset + Resources to progress
- Campaign 320 / Tower207 huge wall..
- Campaign 335 / Tower252 wall..
- ....



SUMMARY: No real differences, except that you´re running more on Shop-items and they even reward you tons of mostly useless items to keep you playing.. In my 2 weeks test it has shown that player numbers dwingling down fast is mostly attributed to: - same game, new name (many old VIP players feel scammed, some went back) - still many bugs in the game (mostly graphical, some translation) - changes are minor, but making Noether a SHOP-only hero now really shows the general idea ;( - the lack of fun (-> doing tedious clicks has nothing to do with IDLE) - tons of clicking most basic windows (which is even automated in top games of the IDLE-genre!!) - several modes are 99% similar except the name - too many WALLS to call it a smooth experience - biggest downside for me: I went through the trouble of comparing complaints with old version and check changes made to the new version. Sadly, a lot of things many players complained about were not even addressed ;(( Fair warning: NEW version is still mandatory given the low 3 digits playerbase worldwide. So, investing in VIP seems questionable as you might end up with only 5-10 active players in 6 months.

I see. Perhaps some of the changes they made were to change that carry playstyle. I suppose it's not the worst thing in the world that the side-effect was slightly longer time to clear all the content.

Maybe someone will find a balanced composition that's faster.

@Tenoshii ..yes, old version is slightly slower as the shop and events don´t carry you as much, BUT.. and that´s also important:
OLD version allowed you to push one Carry, which meant you were even faster.
I wouldn´t do it because it felt strange, yet it was META and back then friends were successful doing it. Still, it sucked playing normally and getting destroyed in Arena by one ULTRA-strong hero.. Maybe that change was the right call by the devs :steammocking:

So, longterm OLD-version should still be faster :D:

Do you happen to have an idea of where a new player would have been on the Old version at Day 12 (especially as it relates to Campaign/Tower progression)?

Test finished + updated.. can´t say I´m impressed. Guess I expected a bit more from a NEW-Version as it was not called UPDATE, but a full (Re-)Release of the (same) game..

As I played with some friends that really know these games well, especially Top5 (PvP-centric) I heard a lot: "Awh, man why can´t I do this..here?!" ..or "Eh, this is much better in League of Angels - even the oldest version..." etc..etc.. you get the idea ^_^
