Unlocking The Framerate Cap
By purifiedprune
A guide to change the game's FPS cap from 60 to whatever you want.

Please note that this may cause problems, which will be more apparent the higher the framerate you play at.

I got all this information from PCGamingWiki.

Digging Into The Configuration Files
First off, we need to find where the file we need to edit is.

Thankfully, it seems that Unreal Engine 4 games keep their config files in the Local AppData folder, which is pretty easy to get to.

Type %localappdata% into your Windows searchbar. You can either press enter after typing it or you can click the highlighted result as seen above to get there.

After that, scroll through the folder until you see the "NoStraightRoads" folder.

Open it, go to Saved > Config > WindowsNoEditor

This is where the file we need to edit is located at.

Editing The "Engine.ini" File

Here, we need to edit only one configuration file to unlock the framerate, which is the "Engine.ini" file. All the other files are not necessary to this guide, so make sure to leave them alone.

To edit it, we'll need to use either Windows's built-in Notepad or Notepad++ . I use the latter, but it's completely fine it you use the former, as we just need to add some lines of text.

Open it, and it should look like this:

Copy these lines...

[SystemSettings]

[/script/engine.engine]
bSmoothFrameRate=0

[/script/engine.renderersettings]
t.MaxFPS=0

...and paste them like so:

For the t.MaxFPS command, I recommend you to put it at 0 and instead cap the framerate through an external limiter, like your GPU's control panel or use V-Sync.

The game will still recognize the commands even if the text in the rectangular brackets are not capitalized, so don't worry if they're not.

Save the file.
Testing And Conclusion
If you did it right, your framerate should be unlocked and you can now experience the game without a 60 FPS cap on all the time!

I've completed the whole game playing at 75 FPS, and I didn't notice any issues related to gameplay, physics or cutscenes, so below or around this value should be fine to play at.

can't pick up those little music note things after putting it to 144fps, plus the landing animation has a little jolt before playing

I've been trying to use this guide (and the comments) to fix the weird camera acceleration I've been having, but it's not done anything.

I did some tests, and your dodge roll is longer with higher framerates. I'm sure if this is an issue, other things are as well.

I wonder what the official reasons are for the locked framerate. I was trying out both. Maybe Dodge roll is different? I can't really tell.

Played through the whole game just fine at 144fps with no issues, but noticed that there were some scenes (the final helicopter section(s), among others) where it took longer than it should have to transition into the next part

Thanks for the guide!
It also seemed to fixed me not getting achievements and some strange mouse/ camera acceleration, although I'm not sure how that relates.

Hey guys if the frame rate goes over the intended fps you set it at or v sync doesn't work, trying using amd or nvidia control pannel to cap the fps.

That's certainly strange. You can report your problem in more detail in the discussion boards, and I'm sure a developer will take note of it.

Thx. I had problems with tearing off the mouse. Now it's gone, apparently it was related to the blocked FPS. I don't know how it works, but I've only encountered this before in WoT blitz
