  • Normal

First battle
As Dianthus: Use Sense spell first time. Then Strike (Fire) with max hits each time.
As Griselda: Use Intimidate and Barrier spells.

Note: Getting defeated doesn't affect the battle achievements. You can retry as many times as you want.

Second battle
Use Pact, max count.

At the spells menu, choose Projection and Empowerment.

  • Defend Dianthus
  • Challenging, but I'd never let coursework defeat me!

Third battle
The secret to defeating the magic horse is to end your first turn without using any spells. Giving you enough mana to defeat the horse in the next turn.
As Dianthus: Use Strike (Fire), max hits.
As Griselda: Use Strike, max hits.

At the spells menu, choose Projection and Empowerment.

  • Challenging, but I'd never let coursework defeat me!

Fourth battle
As Dianthus: The beast's weakness is to bring his health lower than he has time to regenerate it. So use Link (max counts) to bring your mana to the max. And then cast Strike (Earth) max counts on the beast.
As Griselda: Use barrier (Air) with 5 counts. With Intimidate and barrier (Air) 5 counts when the Knightsbane attacks, you can stall the battle forever.
Note: Use Attract as Griselda if the beast is attempting to hit Dianthus.

  • Hug her closer

At the spells menu, choose Projection and Empowerment.

  • Challenging, but I'd never let coursework defeat me!
  • Take her hand

Fifth battle
End your first turn without using any spells. Giving you enough mana to defeat a horse in the next turn. Repeat this strategy.
As Dianthus: Use Strike (Fire), max hits.
As Griselda: Use Strike, max hits.

At the spells menu, choose Projection and Empowerment.

Boss battle
As Dianthus: Use Link to build up your mana. Strike (Earth), max hits.
As Griselda: Barrier (Air) to stall. Use Attract if the boss is attempting to hit Dianthus.
Note: If the boss is focusing his ability on Dianthus (steal her mana), then use Griselda's strike.

  • Kiss her

    Battler

First battle
As Dianthus: Use Sense spell first time. Then Strike (Fire) with max hits each time.
As Griselda: Use Intimidate and Barrier spells.
Note: Use Attract as Griselda if an enemy attempting to hit Dianthus.

Note: Getting defeated doesn't affect the battle achievements. You can retry as many times as you want.

Second battle
Use Pact, max count.

At the spells menu, choose Projection and Empowerment.

  • Stay Quiet
  • Challenging, but I'd never let coursework defeat me!

Third battle
The secret to defeating the magic horses is to end your first turn without using any spells. Giving you enough mana to defeat a horse in the next turn. Repeat this strategy.
As Dianthus: Use Strike (Fire), max hits.
As Griselda: Use Strike, max hits. And barrier when possible.
Note: Make sure to use Attract as Griselda if one of the enemies is attempting to hit Dianthus, or else you risk to lose her.

At the spells menu, choose Projection and Empowerment.

  • Challenging, but I'd never let coursework defeat me!

Fourth battle
As Dianthus: Use Link when possible. Before striking the small enemies, hit each time with a Sense spell. Use Strike (Fire) on the small enemies. Use Sever and Strike (Earth) on the beast. The beast's weakness is to bring his health lower than he has time to regenerate it. So (after defeating the small enemies), use Link (max counts) to bring your mana to the max. And then cast Strike (Earth) max counts on the beast.
As Griselda: Use barrier (Air) with 5 counts. With Intimidate and barrier (Air) 5 counts when the Knightsbane attacks, you can stall the battle forever.

  • Help her stand up

At the spells menu, choose Projection and Empowerment.

  • Challenging, but I'd never let coursework defeat me!
  • Make a joke

Fifth battle
Don't do anything during the first turn. Then focus on one of the horses and destroy it. Next turn, focus and destroy the other horse. After that, use barrier (Air) 5 counts to stall the beast infinitely, while Dianthus is building up her mana with Link. When your mana is at max, Strike (Earth) until you kill the beast.
Note: Use Attract as Griselda if the beast is attempting to hit Dianthus.

At the spells menu, choose Projection and Empowerment.

Boss battle
Similar strategy as in the fifth battle.
As Dianthus: Use Link to build up your mana. Strike (Earth), max hits.
As Griselda: Barrier (Air) to stall. Use Attract if the boss is attempting to hit Dianthus.

    Challenger
  • Win all 5 battles in one save on Hard difficulty.

    Friends
  • Became besties with Dianthus.

boss fight on hard is very hard. i do not understand the tactics, if it siphons mana from Dianthus, then it will regenerate the damage taken previously. and also give a weak making next damage lower.

It's what I've used and worked perfectly fine for me (and I replayed the game a bunch of times to make sure that the strategies do work), you're free to use your own strategies of course, this guide was made ~3-4 hours after the game was released, so I didn't had much time to analyse everything

Why do you say to use Fire strikes against the Night Mares (magic horses)? They're fire based, so Water strikes are what should be used. Fire strikes do less damage, and give them mana when you hit their barrier.

thank u very much for the guide, it's been helpful. i'm trying to beat the game on Hard and am having difficulty with the Boss battle. All the damage i can do in a turn (while putting up barriers) he regens at the next turn. so like 2 hours of trying and the most i've got him down was to 100. Do u have any other tips or advice on how i can beat him? thank u in advance :8infinity:
