Prologue - 3D Modeling For Everyone, Anywhere

Be aware that VRoid is easier to make something akin to this baby, than Blender. Despite achieving similar results (But that's beyond my understanding).

So, you want to become an anime girl or an anime boy, you've come to the right place.

Before we begin, your drawing tablet needs to be perfect. Mainly, your tablet needs to be compatible with Wintab API, like Wacom tablets. Wacom's rivals results in trial and error experimentations. - I have seen people in Reddit and other drawing forums using a competitor tablet with little to no VRoid problems. But others do have problems.

Also, VRoid doesn't work with Surface devices.

Additional Tips

Pivix has different versions that one can download in their official VRoid sites, but this guide will focus on the PC ones.

Don't be too quick to get rid of the Beta version, it's just in case if you have some custom presents from this version that ya want to adjust and import over to Stable.

Tutorial Vid

Here's a tutorial vid, that's not made by me, explaining how to Import certain presets...For the time being.

He's a bit sleepy and getting ready for school, so, forgive this uploader.

Don't Forget To

Introduction
Bring The Avatar To Life
Welcome to the main menu, this is we're you can see the sample avatars and the avatars that you made. All and all, this is were the magic begins.

To begin a new project, click on the Square with the Plus button or click on the sample models to get an idea on the anatomy of the VRoid avatar/treating them like the selection models to jump start your brilliance.

A selection menu will pop up with the choice of either a boy or girl.

The demonstrated area and the square were "You have to use your Imagination" is were all of your avatars from the previous version will appear in. They needed to be converted to be compatible with Stable, so, convert them.

Work Area

Here's where the art goodness happens, the editing, adjusting, coloring, and magic.

Additional Notes:

If you want to download some extra Sample Models/Avatars or straight up go further than using the VRoid software alone, like using the VRoid Studios mobile app or taking Booth's advantages, ya need a pixiv account. These babies, the updated Sample Models/Avatars versions (and other ones) are located in the VRoid Hub.

Here's an up close of the Exporting Menu.
After adding the finishing touches to your avatar, it's ready to be uploaded to VRoid Hub or take your avatar to 3tene (and/or it's rivals) and make a video and/or stream.

If you mess up, just click this button to go to a reset/get back to the default object.

Extra Thicc Or Extra Thinn

The circled area is where the action takes place, if you're not using it to select colors and edit textures. You're using this area and fiddling with the sliders to get your avatar's ideal size (like bust, finger length, waist size and so forth).

Here's the Eye Sets up close.
Face/Irises
The Irises are the color parts of the eyes.

Tidbit: The word Iris is named after a Greek mythology messenger goddess and rainbow personified. I dunno if this will help those that aren't anatomy-savvy remember this.

Note: For those unfamiliar with anime and manga, characters with an "Ahoge" hair mainly signifies that they are either idiots, young people (like teens/kids), naive or all of the above (like the personified version of "Southern Italy" from Axis Powers Hetalia).

Accessories

For now, the only accessories that one can add are glasses and animal ears.

Click the "Add an Accessory" to open up the accessory menu.

When clicking, the accessory (In this case, glasses) should appear on the avatar and the editing bar will show that ya selected it.

The right hand side of the window shows that you can change the accessor(ies)'s texture, features, and whatnot to match what you have in mind.
Look
I have to make a test dummy.

Here on Look this is where the adjusting happens, even to the point of making the Vroid avatar look a bit 2D-ish.

The Camera

This will take you to the Photo Booth mode and where one can take pictures of your avatar, adjust lighting, and other cool stuff.
Photo Booth
Here's the Photo Booth menu.

Note: The previous Beta version the Export and Upload buttons are in the same area.
Photo Booth - Facial Expressions
Photo Booth - Exporting And Moving

Once you're done creating your avatar, you are now ready to export it or uploading your baby into VRoid Hub.

If you're familiar with VRoid, ya just need to sign the usual "Paper Work" and you're good to go. For those unfamiliar, what I'm calling "Paper Work", it's just a tiny set up, like saying you're the avatar's creator, giving other people permission to use your avatar, permission to have your avatar be in mature and heavy situations. It's not giving up your first born child to the VTube God.

Later on, I am going to introduce you and show how to use 3tene for Idol purposes. By later on, I mean in another guide, which is probably a tour guide.

Photo Booth - Poses And Animations

With this new update, Pivix gave more animations to use.

Note: In the past, I only use the Poses And Animations just to check to see if my Avatar is clipping or not. This is probably inaccurate and doesn't do this justice.
Photo Booth - Background

This is where one can change the background, either by fooling around with the color or importing your own background artwork.

Clicking on Import Background Picture will open up the "Documents > vroid > avatars" file, click on the art piece that you'll want to use.

Exporting - The Work Papers
Here's what it looks like:

Give your VRoid avatar a name and say that you're its creator.

I dunno why they say "Avatar's personality" when it's only you, trusted people or the whole wide world using it.

Presenting the options.

Here's how ya want your avatar in what situations.

Lastly, the touchy copyright stuff.
Tiny Tips
The Booth

Booth is also own by Pixiv. It's their answer to esty, but not quite. Many VRoid users, like Argama Witch, makes and sells templates just for others' VRoid purposes. - Glancing aroundi the site some of these virtual merch are free. Basically, the site is trustworthy and has secure payment.

There's no listing fees.

Tip: Since anyone can sell almost anything, there might be some bad apples that might want to take advantage of ya. So, be careful who you buy from and downloading.

Like 3tene, be sure you toggle the site to English. Otherwise you'll be bombarded with all three Japanese alphabets. Some computers don't automatically translate to English.

Booth:

Booth (Website)[booth.pm]

Booth (Google App)[play.google.com]

Booth (Iphone app)[apps.apple.com]

VR Chat

The same goes to VR Chat's rivals, I know jack about them. Go bug guys, like Phia, who are more knowledgeable about this than me.

BTS (Not The KPop Band, Ya Bakas) - Lights, Camera, Action - VRoid Guide

The only things that I don't have room to add, is that it's a cheaper to make a 3D model, since one can download VRoid for free. Unlike, Live2D. Also, it's way easier to learn VRoid, unlike Blender (I only use Blender for making videos, the proof are the credits in them.

I have to overhaul the guide a bit, since VRoid Stable version was a huge remodeling.

Don't mind this wonky VRoid model that I made with the Beta Version several months ago, I am currently tweaking and fixing up a new and better avatar.

Lastly, I am still getting used to VRoid, I just need to find out if stuff works, fixing up my model, and finding my way. These are some of the reasons why I shared Pandaalifter's vid, I didn't get to that part were I need to do all of that preset importing. - All I did was redownload the Beta version for future uses (I stupidly deleted it earlier when the Stable came out, I didn't know that I will still need it).
