How to Create a Simple Doughnut in Blender
By ZUDpy
One of the most important things in blender is the ability to create simple objects. It can lead you on a path for success in the long run when using blender. One of the first things I learned how to make was a doughnut. Today I will show you how you can make one yourself.

Making New Project
1. Open new project.
2. delete the default cube by right clicking it and then click delete.
Adding The Torus
To start off with the basic shape of the doughnut we want to insert a shape called Torus
To make the Torus press Shift+A- Mesh- Torus
Adjusting The Torus
After adding the torus you see that it doesn't quite look like a doughnut. To fix that we're going to want to to click on Add Torus at the bottom left of the screen.

Once you click on Add Torus it opens the settings pane for your object were you can make changes to the size of your torus.

You're going to want to change the dimensions of your torus (Major 0.1m, Minor 0.05m)
We'll also want to change the major and minor segments because we want to be able to edit our doughnut more easily at a lower resolution. So what you want to do is change the major segments setting to 28 and the minor segments to stay at 12.
More Adjustments to Doughnut
You might have noticed that our doughnut is a little too perfect. To Change that you want to click on Object Mode in the top left of your screen and then click on Edit Mode.
While in this mode you can grab the vertices in the object and move them around. What we want to do is go into sculpting and we can change the way the doughnut looks
Here's an example of what I did:

Now, you might have realized that our doughnut isn't smooth. To fix that, all we need to do is click on object mode, right click on the mesh, and then select Shade Smooth
Here's what it should look like now:
A Little More Smoothing
Now that we have everything done, we still notice that the doughnut's resolution still needs more smoothing. To fix this, you want to go to properties on the right pane, and select modifiers (the little tool icon).

Once you click on that, click on add modifier and select Subdivision surface and voila, your doughnut is nice and smoooth.

This should be your end result
