Description and loot

The floating island is mainly composed of cloud blocks. It also has special rain blocks of clouds, from which rain pours down (rain from these blocks pours to a certain height). Trees grow on the surface of the island (on blocks of land), and in the middle is a small room with banners, bricks, walls, a table, chairs, a door and a chest. The room itself has its own unique celestial appearance, so everything that makes up this room on the flying islands can only be found on the islands themselves (with the exception of glass and most of the things in the chest)

Also, sky factories appear on the island, with the help of which you can make all the blocks of the structure on the island.

Finding

Floating islands can be at a certain height (depending on the size of the map). In the big world, their number can reach 5 (possibly more).
You can find such an island with the help of :
ricochet projectiles
a water arrow
a gravity potion.


It can also be found as a ghost after dying in hardcore. You can view the world using the map editor. It can also be found if there are harpies nearby.

On a small map 1-3 islands (430-480ft) - optimal altitude 450ft

On an average map 3-5 islands (500-700ft) - optimal height 650ft

On a large map 4-9 islands (650-1100ft) - optimal altitude 820ft

Creatures

Near the flying islands, you can meet only 2 new monsters:
Harpy
Wyvern(hardmode only)

Great wyvern (only on mobile / console, in hardmode)
In addition to these mobs, the floating island can contain zombies (at night), rabbits, etc. - similar to the usual overground world.

Interesting Facts

If you place cloud blocks on the ground, harpies and even wyverns can appear next to them.
Prior to version 1.2, the keys to the chests were needed and the island looked different.
Floating islands may contain ore in places of normal land.
Cloud blocks are not darkened, that is, they are always sufficiently light. Moreover, they give off a little light to neighboring blocks.
On the blocks of clouds and on the island itself, water can form, which will pour onto the island and also from itself.
Sometimes an empty (without room with a chest) Floating Island can be generated:Since version 1.3 there is a chance of a floating island spawning, in the center of which there is a small lake or a floating island with a crimzone / distortion, which helps in completing some of the fisherman's quests, as well as fishing to create some potions.
