Enabling NVIDIA Freestyle / Game Filter, Super easy guide, + Remove black bars completely using reshade

Since we, the superior PC gamers didn't get the HD version, i have decided to use any means necessary to get some HD textures to experience e n h a n c e d nostalgia.

Enabling NVIDIA Freestyle / Game Filter

It's as simple as counting from 1 to 3:

1. Copy BGE.exe

2. Paste BGE.exe

3. Rename to " anselintegrationtestapp.exe "

and that's it!

I highly recommend you don't spread this since I don't want Nvidia to patch this for some random reason

Useful Filters

Sharpen/Sharpen+/Details/Contrast - Bring out that HD
Painterly - Super intresting effect mix with sharpen+ and get more cartoon like textures
TiltShift - to blur the black bars! makes them way less noticeable

EXPERIMENT!! This is just some of the stuff I found to be good looking

Remove Black bars + Bonus motion blur and HDR effects!

For this We will need to install reshade. a post processing program that allows you to add epic effects to you game.

in the link i have provided a setup (you can find one online if you dont trust me or if the version is super old) and some shaders that I found to be working the best with the game.

Step 1 - Installing reshade:

when installing youll be asked what API is the game using, Click on direct3D 9
you'll be then asked what shader packs you want, you can choose them by yourself but i have already provided some so if you don't want to wait just press skip when prompted

Step 2 - Instaliing the shaders:

Just copy the folder reshade-shaders into the game directory

Step 3 - Using reshade

rehade has a tutorial but even without it most of this stuff is pretty self explanatory,

Heres a list explaning the shaders i have provided:

AspectRatio.fx - change the resoultion using the sliders below, use this to remove the black bars
MagicHDR.fx - good bloom + better colors
MBMB.fx - a nice motion blur but it work in the menus, you can tweak it so itll be less nocticeable
Vignette.fx - a Vignette shader
Trails.fx - old school motion blur, it has PS2 style blur if you want the original PS2 Experience in HD
Basicmotionblur.fx - This might not be working since BGE doesnt send proper depth info but i left it there just in case.


note, if you have a smaller keyboard you might need to rebind the open menu hotkey if you dont have a Home button or Shift + F2 doesnt work for you to do this youll need to open reshade.ini and under [INPUT] you should find Keymenu=36,0,0,0 or KeyOverlay=36,0,0,0, if you dont just add this into the [INPUT] section. to find what keycode you want for the button you wish to use you can use this website [keycode.info] and change the first number in keymenu/keyoverlay to your desired key.
