Summary
As I come closer to the end of the vanilla classes, the options that seem available to me dwindle. In this instance, both classes were already strong (or the strongest overall, in the case of Warlocks), even if Warlock has an utterly abysmal early game. It doesn't help that both classes use 4+ ritpows.

Even so, there were still a few sizeable changes made to each class. Warlock should be capable of surviving the early game, while Kobold King now has some access to troops that won't simply cease existing if a T3 mage so much as looks at their army.

Feature List
Warlock
  • Warlock has a more freeform start now, being able to break into each elemental path right off the bat.
  • The troop roster is now comprised entirely of elementals and paraelementals.
  • Warlock now has access to an expanded set of rituals designed to encourage planar exploration and exploitation throughout a playthrough.
  • Each warlock path has a bit more specialization, with Earth Warlocks having tunneling and all Great Warlocks having one or more traits to set them further apart from their counterparts.
Kobold King
  • Every Kobold King start comes with a Black Kobold Chieftain and a contingent of New and Improved™* Black Kobolds to throw at the enemy.
  • The severely lackluster ritual set that Kobold Shamans/Prophets get has been added to.

Disclaimer: Black Kobolds are still cannon fodder.

Soon™
Regarding Kobold King: I may return to Kobolds later, particularly when I package everything up, but right now Kobolds' main shortcoming is in the ritual department, which I still have some planned content for. I may also see about setting up a growtime "evolution" chain when I feel like suffering or when someone does a full CoE5 asset rip.

There is additional ritual content planned, but rituals are exceedingly annoying due to the nature of both of these classes.

Compatibility

No compatibility issues should exist.

Suspected/Known Issues

Known:
  • One of the starting Warlock's Apprentices can only cast three of the starting pseudomastery rituals. While this could be fixed, at least in theory, it's simply not worth the effort.
  • If a Kobold uses the hatchery or stronghold enchantment ritual prior to upgrading an iron mine, the freespawn event will not be upgraded for the increased numbers that the kobold hometerr has. Upgrade your mines prior to enchanting them.
  • Kobold mines and Towers of Elements change gemtype when being made/upgraded. There's no fixing it; live with it.

Recruitment:
Updated recruitment table to reflect recxcost fix.
Lesser elemental gem cost reduced 20% to make early game a bit more bearable. This may or may not have been a massive mistake for mid-game balancing.

"recxcost can now be used 2 times on same recruitment offer" (and it will actually work, enabling units that cost 2 different special resources).
Thought you might appreciate the reminder; I previously reported that you were using the command twice BUT it was only one working once.

Hi, thank you for this mod, so much fun!
Question about warlock : when I build a tower of elements (with an earth warlock) in Agartha, no recruitment available (not even occasional recruitment such as mages, artifacts etc...); when I build a tower of elements (with an Air warlock) in the skies, only cloud dwellers are recruitables. Is it intended?

I made a frustrating and sad discovery. the Earthlocks Link citadel spell is the firelocks link spell.

No. Clearly their shockres is not high enough. I swear Thunder Clouds are overtuned.
