Northern UI Download
So Northern UI was modeled after Skyrim, and also scaled down to make it look pretty and more up-to-date.

As seen here the background is dark and the foreground from the menu stays the same. It looks more crisp and clean and less in your face and out of focus. Gameplay isnt any different in the way you would normally run things. The added bonus is the Controller support that is just that. Complete controller support as on the PS3 and Xbox 360. You dont need the use of 3rd party software like Xpadder or Ginput to make this a workaround. Also you dont need big picture in steam to enable your gamepad.

The mod was created by DavidJCobb and can be found on Nexus on a link here:

Also the video to assist in installing the mod along with OBSE by HunterTheShady can be found here:

This guide was most helpful in getting me the mod that I needed to make great use of my Xbox One gamepad. Now I can enjoy it with the great graphics my PC can handle without all the rough edges of the old style Xbox or PS version of the game.

Beauty Mods and Facial Reconstruction
This section is dedicated solely to the mods that will beautify Oblivion and make it look more enticing and more immerse instead of bland and old.

So the first mod youre going to need is the Blockhead mod which can be found on Nexus here:

Credit goes to shademe for this mod

Now what this mod is going to do is make the faces smoother, make them look less stretched and more in focus so talking to people wont seem like such an eyesore. Also puts them more into focus and their faces have expressions of anger and emotion better than the originals.

As you can the face on the left is way more detailed and can actually be distinguished from other faces in the game instead of just having different hair or wrinkles. They all look as they should as opposed to the elf on the right who looks green and not very realistic in the vanilla game.

Now Blockhead only changes the faces. It doesnt entirely rework all the people in the game just the faces. That's why you need to use this mod in conjunction with Oblivion Character Overhaul v203. The mod download can be found at Nexus as well:

Credit goes to nuska for this mod.

What this does is make the game more immerse when it comes to human interaction, and human fisticuffs. Both of these mods work well in the game and both require OBSE to work so Start at the top of this guide to get the ball rolling there.

Closing

So what you have to do is after youve got the mods installed is you have to go in and fine tune the controller settings in the new northern UI controller menu. It'll tell you all about mouse acceleration, youll have to play around with it to fit your style because the mod uses direct input from your mouse controls. So in order for it to mimic deadzones on your controller youll need to toy around with the settings while in game. Let me know if this helped at all. If it did not, You can join me in discord and I will personally help you tune it myself. I'll give you all the setting that I have so that way youll have the exact same settings as me, because mine play flawlessly like it would on an xbox 360 or xbox one.

i downloaded the mod and i can use the controller but it's messy and doesn't have settings for it so the sensitivity is god awful and none of the icons come up

You can also change what symbols come up with actions too. That’s built into the UI directly and allows you to make those changes in the game under the Northern UI options for HUD

It works with either gamepad. You just have to make sure in steam you access the controls for the PS and not the XB

Is a ps5 controller compatible?

Select Northern UIAway(Vanilla Style) and that will get you controller support without the Skyrim(esque) user interface

So what if I want a functional controller without the UI changes?
