Golden Guns and Clues Locations

Simple guide with pictures of all locations for all the collectibles in chronological order.

Chapter 1

Golden PT92 Part 1
Right after the first tutorial on bullet time and diving, run past the door where you shot the first enemies and look for this Gun Part on the ground by the window.

Clue: Celebrity Magazine
This is on the coffee table in the swank room you kill the first enemies in. Activate this before exiting onto the porch.

Golden PT92 Part 2
After the scene where Max slides down the roof and frees the hostage, you will gain control again inside an office area. Run past the circular desk area and look for this Gun Part in the corner to the right. It's in front of the windows between two columns.

Golden PT92 Part 3
After hitting the green button in the parking garage, stay to the right in the next area. This Gun Part is on the ground in the corner. Get it before heading up the ramp.

Clue: Dropped Photo
After hitting the green button in the parking garage, this is on the ramp leading up to the next level of the garage.

Chapter 2

Golden .38 Revolver Part 1
Climb up onto the platform with the DJ booth as soon as you finish off the first of the enemies. This Gun Part is on the ground behind the booth.

Golden Mini-30 Part 1
After the initial gunfight, you will find a door chained shut. A new path will open up some stairs on the dance floor. Up the stairs is a separate bar area with this Gun Part behind the curved bar.

Clue: Dead Soccer Star
After the initial gunfight, you will find a door chained shut. A new path will open up some stairs on the dance floor. Up the stairs is a separate bar area and Claudio's body is on the floor by one of the seats.

Clue: Flyer
After the initial gunfight, you will find a door chained shut. A new path will open up some stairs on the dance floor. Up the stairs is a separate bar area. Examine this flyer on one end of the bar.

Golden .38 Revolver Part 2
After you tell Raul to stay in the helicopter, you will appear in a room filled with stripes of pulsating light. Move into the next large bar area and look for stairs on the left leading up to a platform with some tables. From here, enter the door and follow the hallway to the DJ booth. This Gun Part is on the ground here.

Clue / Tourist: Ex Cop
After you tell Raul to stay in the helicopter, you will appear in a room filled with stripes of pulsating light. Move into the next large bar area and clear it out. When you enter the hallway to the next area, look for a series of doors on your left. One has a green handle. Open this door to find the Tourist.

Clue: Torn Fabric
After you tell Raul to stay in the helicopter, you will appear in a room filled with stripes of pulsating light. Move into the next large bar area and clear it out. When you enter the hallway to the next area, where you find the Tourist (see above), look for this torn fabric piece on a table by the door.

Clue: Newspaper
In the kitchen, search for this on one of the counters.

Golden Mini-30 Part 2
In the sushi restaurant, this is in the central seating area. Look for it on a ledge near the rear of the tables.

Golden Mini-30 Part 3
After the helicopter sniping portion of the chapter you will land on a helicopter pad. Run down the stairs and look for a door nearby that leads to a glass-walled room with this Gun Part on the floor.

Golden .38 Revolver Part 3
This Gun Part is behind the massive sign on the roof of the building. Run to the end of the catwalk behind the sign to find it.

Clue: Necklace
After you make it back inside from the roof, this is in the stairwell.

Chapter 3

Clue: Picture of Victor
As soon as you are healed, leave the doctor's office and hang a right. You can push open a glass door here to access an office with this Clue on the wall to your left.

Clue: Bloodstain
You can find a bloodstain in the room where you hit the first green button. It's down a short ramp, smeared on a double door.

Golden M10 Part 1
In the room where Raul tortures a man in a chair, look for a TV studio off to the side. Enter this room to find the Gun Part.

Golden M82A1 Part 1
In the sporting goods shop, this can be found on a shelf under a large mural of the soccer team.

Clue: Bloodstain
After the first sniper scene, you will enter a stadium hallway with enemies on an upper catwalk. You can examine a bloodstain on a pillar on the outer wall in this area.

Golden M10 Part 2
In the stadium seats, after you take out the first sniper, immediately backtrack and go to the bottom of the bleachers to find this Gun Part.

Golden M10 Part 3
After the long battle in the outside bleachers, you will return inside to a high class seating area with trophy cases and photos everywhere. A set of seats in this area has a Gun Part on a seat.

Clue: Claudio Memorial
After the long battle in the outside bleachers, you will return inside to a high class seating area with trophy cases and photos everywhere. A display here memorializes Claudio. Examine it.

Golden M82A1 Part 2
Once you are back outside again after the room with the Claudio memorial, head down to the bottom of the bleachers and turn left to find a Gun Part at a dead end.

Golden M82A1 Part 3
On your way to the light tower to take out the final sniper, you will find yourself at the bottom of the bleachers with enemies shooting at you from above. Head up to the top of the bleachers and turn right. Run all the way to the far side to pick up this weapon.

Chapter 4

Golden 1911 Part 1
Right at the start of the level, turn around and look for this by the bar entrance.

Golden 1911 Part 2
Head up the stairs in the bar to find this Gun Part in a hallway.

Golden 1911 Part 3
Once you exit the bar, run back down the stairs to the back door to find this Gun Part.

Golden M500 Part 1
Once you are in your apartment, turn around and search the floor by the window.

Clue: Max's Badge
In your apartment, look on the table behind the couch for your badge.

Clue: Newspaper Clippings
Step into the crazy guy's apartment to scan the walls for this clue.

Clue: Brewer's Journal
In the crazy guy's apartment you can find this clue on a table.

Golden SAF 40 Cal Part 1
This Gun Part is in the burnt part of the apartment building as you make your way out.

Golden M500 Part 2
As you exit onto the rooftop, turn around and search the back side of the door you used to exit for this Gun Part.

Golden SAF 40 Cal Part 2
After the falling water tower shootout, scramble up the ledge to your left instead of following Raul. Head all the way to the far side of this rooftop and you'll find this Gun Part behind a small rooftop shed.

Golden M500 Part 3
After you re-enter the building after the falling water tower scene, clear the first room, head up the stairs, and then search the scaffolding behind the stairs for a Gun Part.

Golden SAF 40 Cal Part 3
In the chop shop, search the side office of the garage to find this Gun Part.

Chapter 5

Clue: Parked Helicopter
Run straight forwards from the starting point and look for a helicopter on the other side of a fence. Walk to the fence to activate the clue.

Clue: Ransom Note
After shooting the first three enemies inside (you can shoot a block holding a truck in place to kill the first pair of enemies outside), look for a small office with this ransom note by an ancient TV.

Golden Micro 9MM Part 1
In the area with all of the cargo containers, you must shoot an enemy off of the top of one of the containers. Use the boxes under his position to get on top of the container, then follow the tops of the containers to this Gun Piece.

Clue: Video Camera
Inside the room where Fabiana was bound and taped, examine the camera on the tripod.

Golden Micro 9MM Part 2
After you exit the room where Fabiana was tied up, stay to the right and you'll find this Gun Part near the fence in the corner.

Clue: Photo
This is on a table with some drug dealing supplies in the room with the button that opens the garage.

Golden Micro 9MM Part 3
In the room with the garage door that must be opened, don't hit the button just yet. Head up the stairs above the garage door and follow them to a dead end with a Gun Part.

Clue: Floor Plans
After you open the garage door you will travel through an outdoors area with enemies. As soon as you are inside again, search the small office in the warehouse with the catwalk to find this Clue

Clue: Newspaper
After you open the garage door you will travel through an outdoors area with enemies. As soon as you are inside again, search the area under the stairs leading up to the catwalk to find a newspaper on a mattress.

Golden LMG Part 1
After you open the garage door you will travel through an outdoors area with enemies. As soon as you are inside again, clear the room and walk out the door on the far side of the bottom level. A glowing Gold Part can be seen in a cargo container just outside.

Golden LMG Part 2
Just before hit the button to drop the walkway out onto the docks, this is in a small shed. It's at the bottom of the ramp leading up to the shack with the button.

Golden LMG Part 3
On the docks, you'll pass two boats on your right and a shack on your left. Hook around left and you will find this gun part on a dock behind the shack.

Chapter 6

Clue: Rodrigo's Email
As soon as the first gunfight is over, turn around and search the glass-walled office for a laptop.

Clue: File on Fabiana
As soon as the first gunfight is over, turn around and search the glass-walled office for this file on a table.

Golden MD-97L Part 1
Facing the room with the first gunfight, turn left and enter a conference room to find this Gun Part on the floor.

Clue: Architectural Models
After you ride the elevator you will come across a room with architectural models in it. Examine one of these.

Golden MD-97L Part 2
Go down the stairs and turn right into the waterfall room. Here you can pick up the Golden Gun Part at the base of the waterfall.

Clue: Photos
In the hallway after the waterfall room, examine the photos on the wall to your right.

Golden MD-97L Part 3
In the entrance after the car nearly runs you down, search the right side of the area for a Gun Part in a glass case by an architectural model. You can break the glass with your gun to get the part.

Clue: Body Examined
After the bomb goes off, climb to the top floor and disarm the soldier. Just past him is the geek's body. Examine it.

Chapter 7

Clue: Talk to Ex-Cop
After the scene where a group of people scatter from a table when you ask them about a phone, walk down the street until you come to a window on your left with the Ex-Cop in it. Talk to him.

NOTE: If you did not meet the cop in the nightclub bathroom in Chapter 2, he will not appear for you here, as this scene has them re'acquainting.

Clue: Photo of Serrano
This photo is at the foot of the couch where you have a discussion with the stranger in the brothel. You cannot pick it up until you kill all of the nearby enemies.


Golden Sawn-Off Part 1
This Gun Part is in the bathroom of the brothel. It's a door off of the main dancing area -- a mural of pole-dancing girls is on the wall with the door.


Clue: Tourist
Leave the main brothel room and, as you walk down the hall towards the pink double-door, this bedroom on the right has a Tourist under the bed. If you accidentally kill him, restart the checkpoint.


Clue: Gang Tag
Once you fight your way through the outside portion of the favela, you will find a locked doorway leading back inside. Before shooting the padlock, examine the graffiti/tag on the wall.


Golden Sawn-Off Part 2
After the sniping scene a thug will break down a blue door allowing you to pass to the next area. The Gun Part is on the ground to the left just as you pass through the open door.


Golden SPAS-15 Part 1
After the sniping scene, you will run down some stairs to the bottom floor, then back up to the top level across the way. At the top of the stairs is a room with this Gun Part behind some rubble.


Golden SPAS-15 Part 2
Once you are back outside a short cutscene will play as Max heads through a metal gate. On the other side is a wrecked car in an open area. Look for this Gun part along the right side of the area.


Clue: Gang Tag
Once you are back outside a short cutscene will play as Max heads through a metal gate. On the other side is a wrecked car in an open area. This gang tag is on the building closest to the previous gun part.


Golden SPAS-15 Part 3
After you head up a few flights of stairs and then leap off of a ledge, this Gun Part is in a dead end below the ledge. This is in the same area as the Shrine to Claudio.


Clue: Shrine to Claudio
This is at the bottom of some stairs -- it's hard to miss. The shrine is covered in flowers and soccer balls.


Clue: Giovanna Flyer
After you pass through a thin alleyway with tall grass, search the right side of the area for this blue and yellow flyer on the ground.


Clue: Bag of Oxidado
After you look through the window at some drug dealers in a cutscene, you will enter their workshop. Examine a counter in here to find the drugs.


Clue: Gang Tag
As you exit the drug den, fireworks will explode above you. The graffiti is on the wall opposite the door you exited.


Golden Sawn-Off Part 3
After the guy closes the door behind you before the massive final shootout, run from cover to the palm tree at the base of the stairs. This Gun Part is beneath it.

Chapter 8

Golden Auto 9MM Part 1
At the large double-stairway at the entrance to the cemetery, from the bottom of the stairs, turn right and look for this Gun Part at the base of a small mausoleum to the side.


Clue: Valerie's Tombstone
At the top of the double stairs, stay to the right in the graveyard. This tall-ish, conspicuous tombstone can be examined as a clue.


Golden 608 Bull Part 1
After the shootout around the vans, look for a path leading to an obelisk in the distance (the thing shaped like the Washington monument). Behind this is a Gun Part.


Golden Auto 9MM Part 2
After the shootout at the vans, you will pass through a door into a ring of columns and arches. Follow the ring counterclockwise to find this Gun Part at one end.


Golden 608 Bull Part 2
In the area with a dome in the middle and the enemy taking your buddy hostage, look for this Gun Part under the dome.


Clue: Horne's Mausoleum
In the area with a dome in the middle and the enemy taking your buddy hostage, look for one of the mausoleums in the ring around the dome marked "Horne."


Clue: Vinnie's Tombstone
After you escape the grave-digging scene, run down the hill towards the house and you should see a conspicuous tombstone on the right.


Golden Auto 9MM Part 3
The cemetery office is a small building across from the morgue entrance. A bathroom in the open office building has this Gun Part.


Golden 608 Bull Part 3
After traveling through the morgue you will find yourself in the chapel. At the front of the chapel is a podium with a Gun Part beneath it.

Chapter 9

Clue: Gang Members
At the start of the level you will run up some stairs into an apartment with a dead body. Examine it.


Golden DE .50 Part 1
After you kill the first armored police, you'll walk down some stairs to a plaza with a green building. This is behind a short wall at that building's entrance.


Clue: Dead UFE
You will come upon two cops in an alley with a wall of cinder blocks. Just past this is a UFE officer's body on the right side you can examine.


Golden M972 Part 1
In the apartment with the surprised woman, search the bathroom for this Gun Part.


Golden M972 Part 2
After you destroy the helicopter you will travel down an alley towards some cops beating up a resident. Just before you get to this scene, a Gun Part can be found on the ground to the left of some stairs.


Clue: Dead Resident
After you destroy the helicopter you will travel down an alley towards some cops beating up a resident. Examine his body.


Golden DE .50 Part 2
After the cutscene with the cops killing residents, search the left side of the grassy path for a Gun Part under the branches of a tree.


GOLDEN M972 PART 3
After the cutscene with the cops killing residents, run past the last Gun Part area and look for a red house with a green door. Run down the path to the left of this house and at a dead end you will find a Gun Part.


GOLDEN DE .50 PART 3
After the cutscene with the cops harassing women, you will cross a makeshift bridge to a building across the way. Directly on the other side of this bridge is a barred window and a barred gate. Head through the gate to get the final Gun Part.

Chapter 10

Golden FAL Part 1
After you take out the snipers shooting at Giavana, head towards the sniper roost and look for a truck or bus with its top missing. This Gun Part can be found here.


Clue: Newspaper
In the area with the large red bus, take out all the enemies and, while facing the front of the station, turn left and enter the office down the road a bit. This newspaper is on the counter inside.


Golden M4 Super 90 Part 1
Before hitting the red paint booth door button inside the bus station, turn around and enter the small room directly across the way with this Gun Part.


Golden M4 Super 90 Part 2
After you shoot the catwalk out from under some enemies above, search the large garage for a bus on a lift. Run under this and pick up the Gun Part on the counter just beyond it.


Golden FAL Part 2
In the room with the large bus in the middle of it, go down the stairs and enter the bus. The Gun Part is on the ground inside.


Golden M4 Super 90 Part 3
In the bus station offices, at the top of the stairs where you encounter the first enemies, one of the corner offices has a Gun Part on a desk.


Clue: Ad Campaign
After clearing out the top floor of the bus office, head down the stairs and examine the big green poster with the lady on it at the bottom.


Golden FAL Part 3
Just past the poster on the wall is an office with some donuts on the desk. This Gun Part is just behind the desk.

Chapter 11

Clue: Max Payne Note
At the start of the level, go to the room directly across the passage from the room you spawn in. The note will be placed at the back of the room on a dresser.


Clue: Passos' Bed
After picking up the above clue head down the hall and enter the middle room on the right. Look at Passos' bed.


Golden Super Sport Part 1/3
After killing everyone in the kitchen stay on your right and go into the storage room with the walk in fridge. There are plastic sheets covering the doorway. The gun part is to your left when you first enter this room on the side of an industrial fridge.


Clue: Blood Trail
After killing all the Highjackers in the engine room, continue going straight to where all the scuba gear is. The doors should open up and you will see the panama canal. Look down at the blood stain on the back deck of the boat.


Golden Super Sport Part 2/3
After examining the blood trail take the stairs to your right and kill highjackers. The part is on the far right, outside of the exercise room.


Clue: Discarded Newspaper
After killing highjackers tearing apart the wall, past the theatre chairs and projector but before the torn apart wall, is a table with a newspaper on it.


Clue: Pried Wall
Look at the wall the highjackers were destroying, it is itself a clue.


Clue: Daphne's Passport
After the pried wall, go through the bedroom on the right to get to a hallway. The first room on the right in this hallway has a desk with a passport on it.


Clue: Daphne's Jewelry Box
Two rooms past where the passport is, just happens to be Daphne's room. Go in and kill the couple highjackers in there and before going into her bathroom look at the wardrobe to the right, this is where her jewelry box is.


Golden AK-47 Part 1/3
After you have entered into the control tower of the boat, you will hear him say, that he already checked every inch on the boat, when two doors open. Next to the motion sensor door. there is a torn painting on the left with a safe behind it. This painting sits across from the control panel. Shoot the painting to get to the safe. The part is in the safe.


Golden AK-47 Part 2/3
After you exit the boat there is a slight cutscene where Passos joins you in the action. He will urge you to move forward towards the tower with the zipline. Now, you can either make sure that they are all dead, since the game will automatically place you at the bottom of the tower. After this you have to run all the way back to where you started and on the other side of the building from where you began the shootout, is the second part. The other option is to be a bit smart, and take down just two guys on the tower, and run to the cover of the car next to you (it has a painkiller too). When the last one or two guys are reloading, run to the back and get the gun part.


Golden Super Sport Part 3/3
After ziplining across and killing all the highjackers, go to the far right before entering the building and there is a part on the otherside of the handicap accessible ramp.


Golden AK-47 Part 3/3
Once you've entered the building and hit the control switch to allow you up the stairs, go up. When you reach the top floor past the bathrooms and can see outside where you came from to your right, take the stairs to your right down and the part is lying there.


Clue: Visitor Center Display
After the AK-47 part you will be in a very green museum like area, kill the remaining highjackers but dont go too far. Back in the green room is a display with american frontiers, which is the final clue.

Chapter 12

Clue: Gurney
After the cutscene with the incinerator, look at the gurney nearby.


Clue: Ammo Crates
After you go through the door from the incinerator room, there is an equipment cage on the left. Look at the ammo crate on the floor at the back of the cage.


Golden RPG Part 1
After you ride the elevator up and have your first fight, this piece is in the bathroom to the left.


Golden FMP G3S Part 1
After you press a button to open a yellow grill door and have another fight, this piece is behind a desk down the left hallway.


Clue: Passos ID
After you jump down into a hole, head right as you go up the ramp and look at the paper under the end table by the sofa to your left.


Clue: Pictures
After you jump down into a hole, head right as you go up the ramp and look at the pictures on the wall to your right (Just turn around from previous clue).


Golden RPG Part 2
After you blow open the door and go upstairs, look for a hole in the wall on the right just as you open the doors after the stairs.


Golden FMP G3S Part 2
After you climb the elevator shaft, this piece is behind a desk in that room.


Clue: Newspaper
After you fight around the dried-up pool and go back inside, look at the newspaper on the bar.


Golden FMP G3S Part 3
After the scene with the doctor, you go through a door into an open space. This piece is behind a recliner on the right side of the area.


Clue: Receipt
After a cutscene of you collecting some supplies from a storage room, go back into the storage room and look at the receipt on the shelf toward the right end.


Golden RPG Part 3
After the sniper scene, look to the left and you can see the piece, but you'll have a fight before you can get to it.

Chapter 13

GOLDEN MPK PART 1
After you go through the grilled gate gate, there is a cell to the left. On the opening of it's window, there is a gun part.


GOLDEN LAW PART 1
After you turn left, the part is in the front end of a shower room to the right.


CLUE: TOURIST
After a fight in the hall, you'll hear someone shouting in English. Head back and talk to the tourist in the cell which falls on the other path that leads from the last location.


CLUE: PRISON LOG
Before you press the button to open the security doors, look at the laptop inside a partitioned office at the far end of the room.


GOLDEN LAW PART 2
After you fight the armored vehicle outside, and finish off the eneies, move forward till you go under the bridge on which the tank was standing. On the far left end is a dumpster. This part is on the left behind the dumpster.


GOLDEN G6 COMMANDO PART 1
After you kill some guards beating a prisoner, turn around and look behind the low concrete wall.


GOLDEN MPK PART 2
After the fight in the workout room, head into the men's washroom located to the left. Just inside the shower room lies the part.


GOLDEN G6 COMMANDO PART 2
After the next fight in a big room, you will see there is a kitchen to your first left. This piece is under the buffet counter in the kitchen.


CLUE: PROMISSORY NOTE
There is an office across the hall from the kitchen, marked "Administration". Inside that office on a desk, there is this note.


GOLDEN MPK PART 3
One more fight later you find yourself in another large room, where you are supposed to go into the control room and press a button to go forward. Before you go into the control room, this piece is in the conference room to the left.


GOLDEN G6 COMMANDO PART 3
Also before you go into the control room, this piece is behind the desk opposite the conference room.



CLUE: E-FILE ON DA SILVA
After the fight with the heavy gunner, look at the laptop in the office across from where you entered the room.


CLUE: POLITICAL FOLDER
In the same large room, the middle office along the other wall has a folder lying open on the desk.


CLUE: SLIDE SHOW
After you go through the double doors into the next room, look at the laptop on the podium by the screen for a slide show. Complete the slide show for the clue to be registered.


CLUE: FLAK VEST
After you go through the armory, before you press the button, look at the flak vest hanging in the same room.


GOLDEN LAW PART 3
After the entire shootout in the shooting range, this piece is on the other side of the sandbags from where you entered the armory in the first place. (This is the room on the other side of the locked door, where you are fighting amidst all the shooting range targets. Take the piece before you kill the final enemy.)

Chapter 14

GOLDEN ROTARY GRENADE LAUNCHER 1/3
In the first room, ride the conveyor belt all the way around to find this part.


GOLDEN ROTARY GRENADE LAUNCHER 2/3
When you go upstairs and go through the door, you can see the part to your right. You get there through the control room, by going through the grey doors first.


GOLDEN ROTARY GRENADE LAUNCHER 3/3
After you go upstairs again and clear the halls, go through the double doors to the right of the last two enemies to find a bathroom with this part in one of the showers.


CLUE: EX-COP
In the same bathroom, check the toilet stall for a last chat with the ex-cop.


GOLDEN RPD 1/3
After you come out into the departures lounge, it's upstairs at the end of the catwalk opposite, just in front of the door you came in. So, you have to go up the escalator, left across the bridge, and left again along the windows.


GOLDEN RPD 2/3
Before you press the button to open the security gate, look behind the desk at the departure gate to the left.


GOLDEN RPD 3/3
In the tram shootout, once you switch trams and kill the guys inside in shoot-dodge, the tram stops. Now, BEFORE you exit, turn around and look at the back end of the tram to find this piece.

Good guide, I may add that for some reason, last golden LAW part may be bugged out. You just need to quit to main menu and reload last save. Personally, I just grabbed it quickly before the whole shootout.
