THE TABLE

The resolutions in UlTRA and BALANCED Qualities are CUSTOM .........Meaning the resolutions have to be added manually in NVIDIA or AMD Control Panel if U FOLLOW METHOD 2. NOT FOR METHOD 1.

Use this table to get BEST IMAGE QUALITY and Highest Possible FPS.!

TABLE 2
A more Comprehensive Table.. Consists of Resolutions for 1080P as well as UltraWIDE 2K.

Here Native Resolution is your Monitor/TV Resolution.

The STEPS
But HOW to USE IT...u say..?

Simple : FOLLOW THE STEPS:

Suppose u got a nice 4K Display and u wanna play at Native 4K.. but DAARN..!
Ur rig ain't powerful enough to provide stable FPS at 4K.

so....who u GOONAA CALL..👻👻😱
FSR FSR FSR..!

Now there's two methods..choose whichever u like... Method 1 for people who just want to get it done...Method 2..for People who want to go deeeeep.😁

Quick eee Steps ..Method 1

STEP 1 : Set in-game Resolution to ANYTHING.
STEP 2 : Set the game TO WINDOWED MODE.. MOST IMPORTANT.

STEP3 : Open LosslessScaling...Select FSR or FSR Lite ( now called as Optimized FSR ) or NIS or LS1. FSR lite provides nearly 10% more FPS with a minimal reduction in image quality. ( The text Box of Sharpness determines the sharpness ( lol what else will it do ) and READ THIS CAREFULLY. Here Sharpness ranges from 0 to 1 with 0 having MIN Sharpness and 1 having MAX Sharpness. High Sharpness also means slightly lesser FPS so Choose as per ur needs. )

In Terms of Image Quality: LS1 > FSR > NIS > FSR Lite ( Optimised Version ).

Comparison between FSR vs NIS :

STEP 4 : CHECK Resize before Scaling ON.. I mean Turn it ON.

STEP 5 : Now begins the Real Tutorial...Set Scale Factor to CUSTOM and Type ur desired value
between 1.1 to 2 in the BOX... WHAT TO CHOOSE U SAY...

1.1 to 1.3 --> BEST IMAGE QUALITY with Less Boost in FPS
1.4 to 1.6 --> Slight Reduction in Image Quality but MUCH FPS BOOST.
1.7 to 2.0 --> REDUCTION In Image Quality BUT MUCH MUCHAS MUCH
FPS BOOST. ( Better for Competitive games ).

STEP 6 : Just Click on Game Window and Press Ctrl+Alt+S.

Step seve......🥱😴
nah DOne.

IN-Deeep STEPS ..Method 2

Step 1 : Set in-game resolution to one provided in 4K Category in the table above..Hmmm..Why 4K u ask....Cause u got a 4K Display SMaRT***. If u got 1440P display choose the one in that category.
Now remember..as many of you already know..
Higher the resolution u set..better the image quality and lesser the fps BUT WITH FSR there is a less difference in each of the above resolutions in terms of image quality but THE FPS It DRASTICALLY INCREASES.! 🤩🤔

Suppose I chose 2259X1270..remember It's a Custom Resolution.

Step 2: Set the GAME TO WINDOWED MODE... DON'T FORGET THIS STEP.🤓🥸

Step 3 : Now Launch LosslessSCALING.exe . ( If u r using MSI AFTERBURNER.. Add this .exe in rivatuner and set application detection level to Low and On Screen Display Support to OFF for LosslessScale.exe OR ELSE u will see more than one MSI overlays like a DrUnKEN MANIAC ..🍻🥴 )

Step 4 : Select FSR or FSR Lite ( now called as Optimized FSR ) or NIS or LS1. FSR lite provides nearly 10% more FPS with a minimal reduction in image quality. ( The text Box below it determines the sharpness and READ THIS CAREFULLY. Here Sharpness ranges from 0 to 1 with 0 having MIN Sharpness and 1 having MAX Sharpness. High Sharpness also means Lesser FPS so Choose as per ur needs. )

Comparison between FSR vs NIS :

Comparison between FSR vs FSR Lite :
ImageSlider Comparison 4K [imgsli.com]

Step 5 : Now the Real tutorial Begins. Look at the table and set the Scaling Factor to the corresponding value of the selected resolution. CORRES....WHAT..!/?

Hmm,m,.. I chose 2259x1270. It means BALANCED in the table and BALANCED MEANS 1.7 SCALE. So.... Set Scaling Factor to 1.7. ( Type 1.7 in the BOX ) 🤷‍♂️

Step 6 : There is an option called "Resize before Scaling". Do NOT use it. UNTICK IT if u r using it. Only use it for Method 1.
But WHY... Cause it will change the in-game resolution automatically and so will nullify all the steps u have followed till now.
Also use Fast Sync for LosslessScaling.exe using NVIDIA/AMD Control Panel as it reduces Latency to 3ms compared to normal 15ms.

Step seve......🥱😴
nah DOne.

just press Ctrl+Alt+S in-game and Viola.!!

YOU ARE NOW PLAYING AT 4K IMAGE QUALITY with the FPS more than NATIVE 4K..!!
The Comparisons
NATIVE 4K i.e. the game is at 2160P with NO FSR.

Game at 1270P with FSR.

Game at 1270P NO FSR.

It's Clear .....WITH FSR The games looks like 4K and runs at a MUCH MUCH BETTER FPS..!!

To ACTUALLY SEE THE DIFFERENCE in image quality... you have to download the images and WATCH THEM FULLSCREEN on a 4K DISPLAY.

1080P Users

Use Rivatuner and lock LosslessScale.exe to your Screen Refresh Rate...?
WhaaaT..?

Hmmmmmmm 🥸..... If ur refresh rate is
75 HZ
..Lock LosslessScale to
75FPS
Also Set the Priority of LosslessScale to High in Task Manager.

Oh.. and In order to properly use FSR.. Turn OFF any
OVERLAYS
...like Steam/ Epic / Geforce / Game Bar/ DISCORD / blah
blaaah
blaah.

Also.. DO NOT USE SCALE FACTOR 1.6 WITH NIS... Reduces FPS by ~10... There is some problem on NVIDIA side...Hope they'll fix it. Oh... FSR is fine with 1.6 Scale Factor.

Also GDI Capture API is still work in progress.. It works best for OLD Games.
Use Hit and Try Method...see if GDI Capture Works for a particular game.

Alternatives to FSR

DLSS : The best Upscaling AI Algorithm Available till date. ONLY FOR RTX.
TAAU : For Unreal Engine Games ( 4.0 and above ).. Works Better than FSR in terms of Image
Quality.
XeSS : Intel's Upcoming Tech. Will going to be at par ...maybe better than DLSS... AND WILL WORK
ON MOST OF THE GPU'S.
NVIDIA Image Scaling ( NIS ) : Works Great on most of the GPUs...!

LS1 : Created by the developers himself. Based on Machine Learning. Provides better image quality
compared to FSR 1.0.
THE WORKING.
How AMD FSR Works and How the program LosslessScale Works.
But be jolly human as now I will explain the Secrets of this great Mystery.

First AMD FSR :

---> AMD FSR is an ALGORITHM ( yep ALGORITHM ) unlike DLSS which is works on AI..!!!...So DLSS is better than AMD FSR.

---> AMD FSR , as it is an ALGORITHM , has been programmed to work at ONLY 1.3X....1.5X....1.7X.....and 2X....Scaling.

Now For AMD FSR to work, it has to be embedded in the Source Code of the game by THE DEVELOPERS of That Game.
Now how it works:

Let's take an example of RE8...which recently got an update for AMD FSR.
Earlier when You played at 4K....assume u got 30 FPS at Ultra.

But now when u set FSR to Ultra Quality in game settings .... the game rendering resolution decreases to 2954x1662 ( see THE TABLE ) which would have decreased image quality earlier but now with decrease in resolution the FSR Upscales the image quality so that it looks exactly like 4K. But since rendering resolution decreased...THE FPS BOOSTS..!!!

BUT BUT BUT BUT BUUT ./......BUUUUUUT BBBUUUUT....Soooooo many BUUUUUTS🤨

LosslessScale Works JUST IN THE REVERSE WAY OF WHAT YOU READ ABOVE.
Now WHAT is this REVERSE WAY...?>?>?!!!?!?!?

Look at the table.....
earlier when AMD FSR was in game..all u have to do was just turn it on in-game settings and it automatically decreased the resolution while maintaining the image quality.

BUT now You Manually have to Decrease the resolution of the game to ONE GIVEN IN THE TABLE as AMD FSR ONLY WORKS WITH 1.3X....1.5X....1.7X.....and 2X....Scaling.
So... as I mentioned in the GUIDE If u set the game at 2259x1270 ( BALANCED ) You MUST and You have to set scaling to 1.7 to get a 4K image Output...any other values would give a random output and FSR WILL NOT WORK as it is supposed to.

Oh... and if you think """"" Higher Scale Factors """".... means Better Image....NOOOOOOPE
LosslessSCale works just in reverse WAY of actual FSR in-game.
So..Higher scale you choose in LosslessSCale Means Lesser Image Quality....??>>L:"
But WHY .....!!!!! YOU ASK...??!

Look at the TABLE Jolly fellow....⛹️‍♂️🏋️🤾

1.3 means Ultra quality ...1.5 means Quality...1.7 means BALANCED....2 means Performance..!

SO...... Now I think u understand.
Again if any doubt..just contact ur friendly neighbourhood SKy.
SKy OUT.

Black Myth Wukong is a very famous game at the moment. The highest resolution of my computer is 3840*2160. When I was using this software, I found a very serious problem. At 2k resolution, the game is windowed, there is no problem using the zoom function, and the frame rate has been greatly improved. However, at 4K resolution, the game is full-screen, and the game's windowed mode or borderless mode is full-screen. Using the zoom function will not work, it will go black, and you will have to wait for the software to crash, or restart to solve it. Please help me, thank you very much!

Sweet, but if the game already the FSR implemented in-game it’s always better to use from there (even the 1.0) the lossless scaling need a bit more polish, perhaps it comes near soon.

Just tested LS1 - not for the frame rate as many may believe, but for a power consumption test - where I barely touched 100W in some scenes with smoke / fire and other FX, with my RX 580X (down from almost 180W without scaling). Test was made while playing Sandstorm COOP on Cassandra Confluvium servers - those matches are not important but you can see my card data on the overlay.
