Bartering With the Elves or How I Learned not to Get Scammed by the Elves.

This is a guide about bartering items with the elves, it is to find out which trader offer better deal and to avoid getting cheated on. This is based on my personal opinion, its not perfect, so feel free to add your opinion.

All 8 Traders Sorted by Ranks.

#1 Ilcoron Sparkweaver

Location : Second floor of the elven tree, working on alchemy table.

1 cross guards (6D) --> 1 stone oak (5D)

1 gold ring (5T) --> 2 yew woods (1D5T)

Probably the best trader, both stone oak and yew woods very useful in crafting, have high value and limited in stock, altough crossguards are expensive than a stone oak, it's actually cheaper to build crossguard from scratch by buying all its component from the market and craft 1, rather than buying 1 stone oak from the market, and also you only need a few or even less the crossguards but you got plenty of resources to make them.

For comparison :
Crossguard with materials from the market = 6D2T2F
Kosh steel 3D
Gold Leaf 3D
2 Leather strips 2T
Charcoal 2F

while buying 1 stone oak from at the market = 10D

He also provide a service of salvaging 3 broken arrows into 1 arrowhead, but it much better to use bowyer skills instead to salvage 1:1 arrowhead.

#2 Alari Springborn

Location : Second floor of the elven tree, she was Ardo carer's.

4 Bandages (2T) --> 1 Oneberry Juice (2T)

1 Silver Ring (5F) --> 1 Oneberry Juice (2T)

This is very useful to get lots of Oneberry juices early on especially if you planning to fight Zant without using any seal, cause you're gonna need lots of healing. Dont worry about bandages, you will ended up with plenty of them.

#3 Fianna Leafsong

Location : Second floor of the elven tree, roaming near elven forest to the north.

2 Silk Glands (1T6F) --> 1 elm wood (2T5F)

1 Dice (4F) --> 1 tinder fungus (1T5F)

Although there wasnt much use for elm wood in crafting and its infinite in stock, also tinder fungus is practically infinite in the forest, its still a decent deal.

#4 Shanaha Dreamglance

Location : First floor of the elven tree, standing by Elbrenell Mistcaller.

3 lucky charms (1T5F) --> 2 goose feathers (2F)

5 worry stones (1T5F) --> 1 gemstones (5D) (NOTE : she only trade up to 5 gemstones)

Goose feathers are infinite in stock at the price of 2F each, You can sell 1 lucky charms for 5F and buy 2 goose feathers instead, BUT 5 worry stones for 1 gemstones is a GREAT DEAL!.

#5 Calenleya Arrowsong

Location : First floor of the elven tree, roaming elven forest to the south.

5 apples (5F) --> 1 sinews (3F)

X or ~

5 nuts (1T) --> 1 sinews (3F)

X or ~

If you really need a sinews and doesnt want to bother to farm them from wild animals or didnt have any character with animal lore skills it might be an ok deal, but there isnt much use for sinews in crafting aside from turning it into improved sinews, also there are infinite of them from the animals, and since buying sinews from the trader without haggling comes at the price of 6F, trading all of the apples into nuts, sell them and buy the sinews actually does a better job instead.

#6 Elbrenell Mistcaller

Location : First floor of the elven tree, standing by Shananha Dreamglance.

2 wild boar skins (3T) --> 1 leather strip (5F)

X or ~

2 wolf skins (2T) --> 1 leather strip (5F)

X or ~

Leather strips are finite in stock but infinite from harvesting wild animals, and since buying 1 leather strip at 1T, its better to just sell the skins and buy the strips instead. Unless you dont have any character with animal lore skills, and you desperately needed leather strips

#7 Gwendala Sunbreeze

Location : First floor of the elven tree, near workbench and then moved into third floor and roaming the elven forest to the north after Ardo got healed.

1 apple (1F) --> 1 nuts (2F)

3 wooden rings (60D) --> 1 improved sinews (5T)

I dont know where else was to get wooden rings but to trade a 20D items for an improve sinews that i can buy for 1 ducat? i can sell the ring and buy 20 improve sinews instead, 2nd worst trader, only saved by apple trading for nuts which is an ok deal.

#8 Mandavar Talondance

Location : First floor of the elven tree, roaming the first floor.

1 weapon balm (4T5F) --> 2 spring water (2F)

1 nuts (2F) --> 1 apple (1F)

Weapon balm is pretty useful, and its stack with all other weapon modifications, i dont see any reason to trade it for spring water which is cheaper and is infinite in stock. Also nuts > apple, so IMO Mandavar is the worst trader ever.
