How To Beat Examtaker Boss

In Depth Guide on how to take on the final boss of the Examtaker DLC.

Phase 1

Phase one is not very difficult, just start on the bottom right side, and make your way left while dodging the white spikes. Watch out for the lasers, they do not move that fast, and be aware of his final attack which requires you to be on either far side to survive.

Phase 2

The second phase is a lot harder than the first but retains the same concept. This time you should start on the bottom left and make your way right while avoiding the explosions which take up 4 spaces. Once again, look out for the lasers, and keep in mind they move much faster than in stage one.

Phase 3

I cannot offer any help. You must pray to every god until one of them grants you the sanity and patience required to memorize each frame perfect skip needed to weave in between lasers, explosions, and spikes simultaneously. If you are looking for any advice, all I can offer you is a photo of Loremaster.

Extra notes I couldn't fit in the comment:

You won't have time to review the guide during Phase 3. The whole thing goes for about 20 seconds total, so memorize the advice and practice. Figure out your own strats, if mine don't work as well as you'd like. I'm not your dad.

But remember to take breaks. Frustration leads to more mistakes, which leads to more frustration. Nobody will judge you (or even know) if you decide to go take a 10-minute break with the Helltaker subreddit or whatever to unwind and get back in a good headspace.

Here's my guide for Phase 3:

Triple Shockwave Hug the far right, 3rd row down. Move three spaces left after the first shockwave passes, then two more spaces after the second.

Alternating Hell Wait for the first cannon salvo to land, then move up two spaces after the spikes drop. Move to the center, then move back into the center rows. Alternate as needed, but end in the 3rd row, just inside the solid box on the left side

Back and Forth Wait until you're standing in a warning sign, then move two spaces left. One space up, then watch the lasers. Alternate as needed, moving to the right. Cross the return volley only when you're standing in a warning box.

The Final Blast Hug the right wall, moving up and down to avoid the lasers. You'll be keeping to the middle two rows, moving as soon as a laser goes down.
