What's New In The Waterlogged Update. Figs And More. : )

Waterlogged Biome

Waterlogged Biomes generate on the ocean anywhere. The biome has figs, water striders, trees, and more! Basically the Mangrove Biome from Don't Starve's DLC Shipwrecked.

Boats Are Faster Now

Yeah they're faster and have physics, its tolerable to go out to sea now and kinda fun. Kinda explains itself. Also makes it easier to find stuff out on the sea.

New Mangrove Trees ( With Big Trees)

A new type of tree grows in the waterlogged biome called Knobbly Tree. Along with them grow giant trees called Great Tree Trunk, they have roots so be mindful of them.
Hitting one of these big trees will cause items to fall down. One of the things to fall down is a Knobbly Tree Nut, an object you carry like statues or the marble pieces. It will fall into the water so it's best to have a Pinchin' Winch, you can also dump it anywhere with the Pinchin' Winch so you can grow your own tree. But That's Not all if you have 2 Figs And 1 Glommer Goop, you can grow other trees fast but you can also grow your own big tree called Above-Average Tree Trunk. Which WILL grow figs AND will shelter you from the elements. Also 2 new mobs spawn from the tree. Next we'll talk about new Figs, Crockpot Foods and Sea Striders, Oh My!

New Figs, Crockpot Foods and Sea Striders, Oh My!!

Mossy Vines and Sea Strider Nests periodically generate from Great Tree Trunks after sometime. Mossy Vines when picked will give one fig but also spawn Sea Striders if Sea Strider Nests are around. Figs can be used as a effective bait/lure when fish but I'd advise not to unless you live in the Waterlogged Biome. They can be cooked on a campfire/firepit or be cooked in a crockpot into 4 new foods called Figgy Frogwich, Fig-Stuffed Trunk, Figatoni, and Figkabab. Best ways I think to make them is 2 Frog Legs & Figs, 1 Koalefant Trunk & Fig 2 Carrots, 2 Carrots and Figs
and 2 figs 1 Meat & Twigs.
Sea Strider Nests contain Sea Striders, who would have guessed. They will hunt out on the water for fish and won't eat meat left out on the water or boat but will on land. They protect figs, which is what I assume they mutated from like Carrats or Bulbous Lightbugs. Like all spiders you can make cookies with 2 monster meat, figs, and silk. ( maybe incorrect )

New Fish : Sweetish Fish

Introducing the new fish, it's the Sweetish Fish. Spawning in the waterlogged biome it's normally hunted by the Sea Striders, It drops 1 raw fish. That's it. Not that much.

From The Depths Of The Unused Files, Its The Grass Gator

From the depths of the unused files, its the Grass Gator. Jumping out of the Great Tree Trunk, the Grass Gator is a reskined Koalefant that can swim. They drop grass, twigs and leafy meat. They aren't really worth it to fight. Here's some pictures of them.
