Step 1. Take your mom's credit card and go buy a Lucky horseshoe, Lucky Dice, A ladybug, Lucky number 7, Lucky number 8, Lucky Rabbit foot, Goldfish, Lucky pig, Turtle, Tortoise, Scarab, Sparrow, a rainbow, lucky coin, lucky bamboo, Dreamcatcher, Evil eye and an acorn.
Step 2. Start thinking positively (Possibly impossible), Visualize the idea of getting a rod of discord in your mind, Go find a mirror and just praise yourself (Warning: you might look like a crazy person), do some Feng Shui (no idea what that is), get good karma and go pray or whatever so your luck increases spiritually.

Okay now when we have maxed your real life luck let's move to in-game stuff.

Step 3. Buy Terraria or beg until someone else buys it for you.
Step 4. Install Terraria.
Step 5. Open Terraria, create a character and a world.
Step 6. Start playing and reach hardmode.
Step 7. Go to underground Hallow during a lantern night.
Step 8. Place garden gnomes, place hallowed torches, touch a ladybug and drink your greater luck potion.
Step 9. Kill a chaos elemental and get a rod of discord.
Step 10. You killed one but didn't get a rod of discord...
Step 11. Farm Chaos Elementals for 11 hours until you get one.
Step 12. Enjoy.. or cry.
