Step 1. Enable Xbox Configuration Support

Open steam client settings and select Controller > General Controller Settings.

Check Xbox Configuration Support.
Step 2. Configure Stick Response Curve

Right click PGA TOUR 2K21 title in your library and navigate Manage > Controller configuration

Select right stick (unless lefty) and from the next screen click ADDITIONAL SETTINGS.

On the left choose Stick Response Curve drop down menu. Relaxed works best for me.
Click back, back and done to close the configuration.
Step 3. Calibrate Swing Timing
Start the game and calibrate your swing in training. Try to swing your optimal max while still maintaining timing in swing plane. It's advisable to always calibrate your swing after changing response curve.

You might already be happy with better swing but I recommend a little fine tuning. Close the game and move on to final step.
Step 4. Fine Tune Stick Sensitivity
Open your controller configuration to ADDITIONAL SETTINGS page, just like in Step 2.

There's two sliders for both, horizontal and vertical sensitivity. You want to take 5-10% off so you don't hook so much every time you exceed your optimal a little. Start with 0.950 and go below if very fast swings are still too frequent. Recommended minimum setting is 0.900

Dropping sensitivity too much will make swing not to function, so don't go overboard!

Remember to set your horizontal sensitivity to match your vertical sensitivity. Click back, back and done. Start the game and enjoy steady swings!

When I try to change to Relaxed it doesn't save, it just reverts back to Linear. Same if I try to change the scales from 100 to something lower. Just reverts back to 100.

Any tips?

I was thinking about doing this guys, but I have a quick question. Do you guys use left or right stick to swing and have you tried both? How messed up can it be?

I recently started playing this game more in the past few weeks. This is a game changer for me. I've gone through clubs with forgiveness and went through different swing techniques. Now, with proper adjustments, hopefully my game can take off. I'm already seeing good results cutting my handicap in half. Thank you.

Thanks a lot for the guide. I didn't use your method exactly, but I wouldn't have thought to adjust my actual controller settings in order to improve swing consistency. Turning off swing speed felt like a bit of a "cheat", so I'm happy to have found a way to keep the challenge while reducing the frustration.

Thanks ! This guide helped alot . For those who still have problems , it's probably the swing tempo system , which I too find to be shit . You can switch it off in game settings . I don't know if that effects the PRO rules , but at least it makes the game fun again . All Hail Hound Dog !

@FriendCalledFive Thank you. Lots of different types of controllers, sensitivity tends to correlate with the length of the stick. Newer xbox controllers have shorter sticks. The purpose of this guide always was to lead people to the settings and give a general idea what to do to find their own sweet spot.

Excellent guide, it has made the game a lot more playable, thanks!

Personally I found leaving the sensitivity sliders at default was the best, my game went very downhill when I tried adjusting them.
