Magic Simplified

I like to split Magic into four basic categories: Purchased, Found, Questline, and Covenant.

Note: "Magic" applies to Sorceries, Miracles, and Pyromancies.

Purchasables

Sorceries:
Purchase only Aural Decoy, Fall Control from Griggs.
Purchase all Sorceries from Ooacile in Darkwood Basin. (Hydra dead, reload, kill shiny Golem.)
Purchase Resist Curse from Ingward in New Londo Ruins.
Purchase all Sorceries from Big Hat Logan.

Pyromancies:
Purchase only Flash Sweat, Iron Flesh from Laurentius. (Can be found in Depths, then Firelink.)
Purchase all Pyromancies from Quelana. (Only appears if you have a +10 Pyromancy Flame, appears next to a pillar in lower Blighttown.)

Miracles:
Purchase all Miracles from Reah. (Only purchasable if you save her from Tomb of Giants. Can be found in the Old Church in Undead Parish. If you let her sit there too long Petrus will kill her.)
Purchase Karmic Justice from Oswald, costs 40,000 souls. (Found in Belfry Gargoyles tower.)

Note: Big Hat Logan, Reah, and Quelana sell all the same items as the three lessers: Griggs, Laurentius, and Petrus. So when you see "Purchase Flash Sweat, Iron Flesh from Laurentius", that means buy only those two and ignore the rest, because you can buy them later from Quelana. Unless you're just trying to stack your magic, which in case more power to you.

Findables: (I went ahead and listed them in a linear fashion so you can find them in order.)
Power Within - Under the Giant Mosquito in Blighttown.
Remedy - Next to the Crimson Set in Blighttown.
Hush - Treasure in Sen's Fortress boulder-ramp "cell" area.
Magic Weapon - Cut Chandelier in Anor Londo.
Acid Surge - Graveyard Area of Painted World.
Fire Surge - Drop from Bloated Dredge after tunnels under the well in Painted World.
Vow of Silence - Painted World of Ariamis, on the "Raven" roof. First find key in the tunnels.
After you obtain the Lordvessel:
Great Magic Barrier - Ash Lake.
Tranquil Walk of Peace - Near the third Necromancer in the Catacombs.
Chaos Whip - Chest in Lost Izalith.
Soothing Sunlight, Bountiful Sunlight - Kill the two healer Pisaca's in Duke's Archives.
Strong Magic Shield - Chest in Duke's Archives.

Questline:
White Dragon Breath - Dropped from Big Hat Logan at the end of his questline.
Fire Tempest - Speak to Quelana after defeating Centipede Demon, defeat Bed of Chaos, and speak to her afterward.
Emit Force - Speak to Siegmeyer in Firelink Shrine after you assist him in Anor Londo.

Covenant:
Darkmoon Blade - Give 10 Souvenirs of Reprisal to Gwyndolin.
Great Lightning Spear - Give 10 Sunlight Medals to the Sunlight covenant.
Sunlight Spear - Give the Soul of Gwyn to the Sunlight covenant.
Chaos Storm - Give 30 Humanities to Chaos Servants.
Great Gravelord Dance - Give 10 Eyes of Death to the Gravelord covenant.

Great Chaos Fireball - Join the Chaos Servants.
Poison Mist, Toxic Mist - Find enemy in Quelaag's Domain with eggs on back, let him grab you, wait 10 minutes until egg hatches on head, speak to the servant Eingyi to purchase.
Lightning Spear - Join the Warriors of Sunlight covenant.
Sunlight Blade - Defeat Gwyndolin.
Gravelord Dance - Join the Gravelord covenant.

Where to Find Covenant Items:
You can farm Souvenirs of Reprisal from the Ravens in Painted World, find the Chapel key and proceed to the top of the tower and you'll ambushed by four or five Ravens, farm until you have 10.

Note: Remember to wear the Covetous Gold Serpent Ring or Symbol of Avarice, but they do not stack! You can also have 10 Humanity, which stacks with either of those items. There are no other items that boost discovery.

You can find Sunlight Medals per NG cycle offline, or you can do 10 bouts of jolly cooperation using the White Soap Stone given to you from Solaire on the Hellkite Bridge.
(1 from Lautrec, 1 per Solaire assistance for a maximum of 4, 3 from a chest in Anor Londo.)

You can find Eyes of Death per NG cycle offline, or you can do Chaos Servant based invasions.
(3 from a corpse in The Catacombs, 3 on a corpse in Tomb of Giants, Patches sells 3 once he's a vendor in Firelink Shrine, and you can farm them from Basilisks with a 6% drop chance.)

Knight's Honor Achievement

Souls You'll Need:
Sif 3
Gwyn 1
Quelaag 2
Iron Golem 2
Smough 1
Ornstein 1
Moonlight Butterfly 2
Priscilla 1
Gwyndolin 2

You need 153 Shards and 153 Large Titanite Shards.

3,800 x 153 = 581,000 Souls for Large Titanite Shards (Giant Blacksmith -- cheapest vendor for them.)
800 x 153 = 122,400 Souls for Regular Titanite Shards (Andre, Vamos, and Giant B. all sell for the same price.)

703,400 Souls to Upgrade weapons.

If you need Souls I'd just recommended speed running the game and defeating bosses, or farming the Royal Sentinel's in Anor Londo castle (the ones inside, not outside). They drop 3,000 souls on NG, then 9,000 on NG+1, and 9,600 on NG+2. I'd personally recommend NG+1 as they're easier to defeat and the soul count is pretty much similar.

Note: Remember to wear either the Covetous Gold Serpent Ring or the Symbol of Avarice. These are the only two items that boost discovery in Dark Souls 1, and they do not stack.
Plus having 10+ Humanity boosts Discovery by an additional 200. But this also makes you more prone to invasions by Darkwraith PvP members (a covenant based around stealing Humanity). So I'd wait until the area boss is dead to farm.

Remaining Weaponry:

The Grind:
Farm Black Knights in Kiln until you have the four Black Knight Weapons plus Shield.
Farm Channeler's in Duke's Archives for the Channeler's Trident.
Farm Bat Wing Demons in Anor Londo for the Demon's Spear.
Farm Stone Knights in Darkwood until you get the Stone Shield and Sword.
Farm Silver Knights in Anor Londo Castle until you get the Silver Sword, Halberd, and Shield.

Note: You can purchase the Demon's Spear and Stone Sword from Shiva in Blighttown by joining the Forest Hunters covenant in Darkwood.

Findable(s):
Crest Shield from Undead Asylum.
Crescent Axe (Kill Patches, or buy from Patches.)
Purchase Giant's Halberd from Giant Blacksmith.
Grant from NPC invader Paladin Leeroy in Tomb of Giants.
Sanctus shield from Paladin Leeroy in Tomb of Giants.
Astora Straight Sword and Dragon Crest Shield in Valley of Drakes.
Black Iron Greatshield in Anor Londo in front of the Painted World.
Bloodshield from Painted World.
Dragon Tooth and Havel's Greatshield in Anor Londo Castle.
Dragonslayer Greatbow in Anor Londo Castle, out the upstairs window.
Effigy Shield in Tomb of Giants.
Velka's Rapier in Painted World.
The six Dragon Weapons from cutting off the tails of: Gaping Dragon, Ancient Dragon, Red Drake, Seath, Priscilla, and the Belfry Gargoyles.

Covenant-related Garble:
Gravelord sword from joining the Gravelord Covenant. (Use the open casket in the Catacombs.)
Dark Hand from joining the Darkwraith Covenant. (Don't speak to Frampt on NG, defeat Four Kings.)

Conclusion

I hope this aided you in your pilgrimage, chosen undead!

I've written multiple un-posted guides on my tenure of obtaining 13 FromSoft 100% completions thus far, 6 of which are Dark Souls platinum trophies on PS3/PS4. After much consideration I've begun compiling my knowledge into a series of Dark Souls guides.

It's somewhat tasking attempting to accumulate this information into an simplistic, easy-to-understand guide — but I try. ;)

If you found this guide useful please rate and give it an award! Thank you for your patronage!
