Gulf War (1991)
Operation DESERT SABRE
Updates: compatible with latest patch.

While UK, FR and alternative USA decks are inspired of their respective global forces engaged during the war, the US 2nd armoured Cavalry Regiment, and Iraqi T-72 decks were inspired by the famous tank battle of 73 Easting, and Operation Desert Sabre beligerants. In the real battle, Republican Guard's T-72 divisions were crushed by US 2nd Armored Cavalry Regiment, a couple of hours after a succesful US air raid on Iraqi radars & com centers, that completly knocked out Iraqi organization.

Battle of 73 Easting
The Battle of 73 Easting was a decisive tank battle fought on 26 February 1991, during the Gulf War, between American-British armored forces and those of the Iraqi Republican Guard. The battle took place several hours after the Battle of Al Busayyah. It was named for a UTM north-south coordinate line (an "Easting", measured in kilometers and readable on GPS receivers) in the featureless desert that was used as a phase line to measure progress of the offensive. The battle was described by the Military Channel as "the last great tank battle of the 20th century."

What if Radars & Com Centers wouldn't have been destroyed ?
Rewrite history with those decks!

While Iraqi decks were originaly designed for AI, to provide some good comp stomp, i've rebalanced it for PvP with all weapons/vehicles/planes typicaly used by Iraqi pre-91 army, in order to reflect what would happen if Iraqi radars & Com centers were not destroyed. the result is surprising. Also a lot of Saddam's weapon reserves are now include in the 2 new pre-80 decks.
Iraqi decks are based on: T-72 armada, Republican Guards, Saddam's impressive AA collection, Iraqi veterans Air superiority fighters (Iraqi pilots were feared for their hardened combat experience aquiered in Iran-Iraq war).

Changelog :
  • ALL DECKS CODES UPDATED for DLC3 compatibility.

  • Deep revision for 1st Infantry Division that gives more flexiblility for Infantry with cheap transport that will helps when ♥♥♥♥ hit the fan. Also added more veterans M1A1, Aircrafts gain more punch especialy against ground targets. The arrival in this deck of 7 AH-1F Cobras with 8 I-Tows, and F117 NightHawk, F15E-Strike Eagle, F16-C Block 52 Fighting Falcon, will ensure you fearsome CAS. If you want, the following planes can be swaped into the deck : F16-C Fighting Falcon (6x245kg Cluster) or F/A-16C Hornet (maverick ATGM). All those are Gulf '91 compatible.
Be sure to grab the new code for 1st Infantry Division, especialy if you plan to PvP against tough opponents.
  • Added 4 new decks: 82nd Airborne Division, 5th Field Artillery Regiment, 1st Marine Division (USA) & 45th Mechanized Infantry Division (Iraq).
  • Revamped all USA & FR decks: better accuracy for authenticity, and better punch in PvP.
  • The following decks recieved deeper modifications: Division Daguet, 1st Infantry Division & 1st Recon Battalion. Those 3 have way more punch now.

    -Previous changes-
  • Motto added for all USA and French decks. If someone knows the Motto of UK 1st Armoured, let me know!
  • Fixed 12th Armored Division name, is now 3rd Armoured Division (which includes 6th Armoured Brigade, 12th Armoured Brigade, 8th Mechanised Infantry Brigade + Artillery Group).
  • Improved Republican Guard, they are now more balanced and more veteran. Also, BMD is removed, BRDM-2 Malyutka has been added, which is more accurate for authenticity.
  • Fixed several mistakes (patches and names) in US/UK decks (thanks to Theron Nett for his help).
  • v585 compatibility (deck code updated)
  • Updated UK deck: More Challengers. Ferret (recon) was removed from armoured deck in v585, so I replaced it by FV101 Scorpion (recon). Also FV4003 Centurion Mk.5 AVRE 165 (Armoured Vehicle Royal Engineers) are back in the deck for authenticity.
  • Updated Iraqi 12th Armoured Division. A card of T55AM was added to simulate Saddam's veterans T55 with optic upgraded, the same way i use T-72A to simulate the frontal armour upgraded with lamined armor (ancestor of composite armor) on iraqi version..
  • Updated Saddam's Infamous AA Train: even more infamous now, and still authentic.
  • Updated US & UK decks: US are more dedicated, UK has now the strongest heavy tanks deck, but is less versatile than US 2nd ACR. (07/28/14)
  • Added 1 USA deck: 3rd Cavalry Regiment (mixed), with Apache Longbow & LAV25. (07/25/14)
  • Iraqi deck 'Persian Gulf War Veterans' improved. (07/25/14)
  • Updated all decks: more authentics & balanced, thanks to your feedbacks! (07/25/14)
  • Decks are now fully compatible with new patch
  • Added 2 Iraqi decks: Saddam's AA death train (support), Persian Gulf War Veterans (pre 80)
  • Added 1 FR deck: |FR| Division Daguet
  • Added 1 UK deck (armoured): |UK| 1st Armoured Division
  • Added 2 USA decks (motorized and mechanized): |USA| 1st Mechanized Infantry Division, |USA| 1st Recon. Battalion
  • Added 1 Iraqi deck (armored): |Iraq| 12th Armored Division
  • Iraqi Air: More veterancy for most aircrafts, but less avaliability.
  • USA Air: EF111a Raven replaced by F15-C Eagle to get some dedicated ASF against Iraqi fighters (they were known as veteran combat hardened pilots, so they have hardened Mig-23 and Mig-25 to reflect that).
  • Added more AAA to Republican guards
  • Replaced M2A1 Bradleys (transport) by M3A2 Bradleys (recon). M72 LAW replaced by AT4 for all Riflemen

Whilst 1st UK Armoured doesn't officially have a motto, and neither does 4th Arm Bde, 7th Arm Bde does being "All of one company".

Great work. Seems like you are the only person on the workshop who posts WORKING deck codes.

The British should have an MLRS battery as well though I'm quite that requires a general rather than an armored deck, that would also allow for the SAS to be in it as well which you could argue is accurate

Jez: he had at least one Roland missile system on an AMX-30 chassis. I know for a fact he did, because I saw it through the binoculars at the airfield, and C-24 destroyed it with a HEAT round. He also had more that were used in the Iran-Iraq war, and at least one of them survived through to 28 FEB 1991, because that's the one we destroyed. So, yes, he did have radar missile AA.

@aramis1250 : Thank you for your informations about the 2nd and 3rd ACRs, duely noted! When 'ill have a bit of free time, I'll see if i can find a way to fix this without cloning their decks.
aramis1250 Sep 3, 2021 @ 2:09pm
Jez: Yes he did. We destroyed one at ar Ryumaylah airfield after it shot down one of our medevac helicopters.

Saddam didnt have AA missiles

Also, I do see your comment about the 3d ACR having M1A1HA, and I can verify that this in fact the case.
aramis1250 Sep 1, 2021 @ 8:17pm
Thank you for making the effort to set up these decks.

I haven't had a chance to read through all of the comments (there are 12 pages of them!), so I apologize if this was covered earlier. It's just a note, not a nitpick, and I know that it was a lot of work to set these up!

The US 2d and 3d ACRs had identical TO&E during Operation Desert Storm/Sabre (and for many years before and after, as well), and as such probably don't need separate decks.
