Game Configuration

Simple guide explaining all kinds of stuff related to the configuration of the game.

Removing splash screen (Sony Interactive Entertainment presents...)

To speed up the start of the game a little bit, you can disable the intro. Just rename or delete the FrontEnd_Splash.mp4 which is located in the games installation directory

For example, in my case the file is located at:

K:\GameLibrarys\steamapps\common\Predator Hunting Grounds\SpaceFish\Content\Movies

and instead of deleting it i renamed it to FrontEnd_Splash2.mp4.

It might be that the file gets re-downloaded during an update and for sure when you verify game files. To work around this, you could simply make the movies folder read only after renaming / deleting the file.

To make the folderread only do the following

• Right click on the folder
  
• Select properties
  
• Mark the check box called "Read-only"

It might be that the check box already seems active by showing a black box, in that case simply click it twice.

Making the folder read only could cause problems in the future
(For example there will be added a new intro screen or some other clip - steam would not be able to update the folders contents.)

Launch arguments

To use launch arguments, right click on the the game in your library and select "Properties..."
Next head to the "launch options" @ "General" page.

Changing directX mode

Launch game in directX 11 mode

-dx11

Launch game in directX 12 mode

-dx12

dx10 and vulkan are not available because the game is using pre-cooked content and these shaders are not included.

Changing the game language

This will only change subtitles and interface language
The game will not download any new files or delete existing files - so you can change the language at any time

GameUserSettings.ini

Notice:
It is not possible to change the games settings via the config files. The config files are just a dump of the current settings, which the game is loading from a save file on startup.

The save file is a binary and therefore you can not easily modify settings. You have to change the settings in-game or build an save game editor
Save file can be found @ %localappdata%\SpaceFish\Saved\SaveGames\Steam

Config files location

Open windows explorer (Windows-Key + E) and type the following into the address bar:

%localappdata%\SpaceFish\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor

This file contains the user-specific settings. It might be empty on first start so you might have to change some settings in-game to get it populated. Below i post the output of my current config file.

Again: Changing stuff in this file will have no effect on the game as the game is loading settings from a .sav file. This is just for reference.

Yeah, as i said, language codes for brazilian portuguese, latin spanish and traditional chinese don't work. Could be that there is a region-locked game version in these countrys which includes these language options, or it could be just a complete different language code. However, i haven't found any solution yet to change language to chinese, spanish or brazilian portuguese, so unfortunately you're out of luck.

How change Chinese?

I don't know. According to https://www.localeplanet.com/icu/pt-BR/index.html something like pt-BR or pt_BR or por should work for portuguese, but none of them works.
Same with the codes for latin spanish and traditional chinese.
It could be that in these countrys a different client is shipped which supports these options but it clearly doesn't work on my client.
