nice to know, I joined the Discord server so I can ask something if I'm ever in need. If you do make that video, let me know. I would love to see it
I've not really done much that's uniquely innovative, in this this game. It's somewhat limited, in its ways, and the longer serving expert players (you can find in the Discord) knew pretty much everything. Except that sling towers can shoot through God walls and every part of gates (which let me build a special maze/grinder design). And I'm most way finished with my mega-city project (that 11 year village I mention). Hoping to make a little video on that some time.
My goal after this will be to create two self-sustainable villages: one focusing on defending by killing monsters and another focusing on defending by banishing monsters, hopefully both will be perpetual.
(Damn character's limitation >.<)
Oh awesome, these are some nice longlasting villages. I was very impressed by your idea of a separate maze entrance for spectres. I can only image how full of cool shenanigans your village must be.
The literal answer (to longest lived village, in campaign survival) is 11 years. 300-400 hours of game time, mostly AFK, because I'd destroyed the corruption on day 1, with cheese.
But I also have a couple of villages with ongoing corruption, at the 3 year mark. Which means they will now survive indefinitely, because (as you can see from the graphs) corruption threat stops scaling up before that (absolute limit at 200% of red bar).
The standard way to survive indefinitely is to make your village small, like 1/4 of the map and turtle in the corner. So the threat barely scales up at all. But I also have a village that's taken 2/3rds of the map. Which means I have to manually cast spells every night, to help grind the 2000 level 85 monsters, or so, which spawn. But it's viable. It's not as impossible a game as it seems. Once you understand it.
I also had to re-upload the artwork entry with the vulnerabilities and resistances: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2529595570
I skipped over one line in the code when copying down the monster 'flag' values.🤦♂ Spectres do indeed take 50% bonus damage from magic ice.
