Stargunner - Sports DOS Game Installations

In this Guide, I will show you how to install DOS Sports Games into Stargunner's DosBox.

Along with which Sports DOS Games are compatible and which are not.

1. NHL Hockey 94-97

This Section will teach you on how to install the EA's NHL Hockey Series in your Stargunner Folder. NHL 97 for DOS is the only EA DOS Game that's NOT Compatible as it contains the Windows Version which won't work on Modern Systems.

1. If you have the NHL Hockey 94, 95 or 96 CD-ROMs, insert it in your hard drive.

2. Open Stargunner in DOSBOX then enter Mount D D:\ -t cdrom

3. Enter Install to Install the game by following the instructions listed & select Max Installation or Custom Installation and check off everything.

4. After the installation, from the NHL94, NHL95 or NHL96 Directories, enter HOCKEY to start the game.

5. Open your Stargun DOSBOX Config File & Change the Following:

2. NBA Live 95-97

This Section will teach you on how to install the EA's NBA Live Series in your Stargunner Folder. NBA Live 97 for DOS is the only EA DOS Game that's NOT Compatible as it contains the Windows Version which won't work on Modern Systems

1. If you have the NBA Live 95 or 96 CD-ROMs, insert it in your hard drive.

2. Open Stargunner in DOSBOX then enter Mount D D:\ -t cdrom

3. Enter Install to Install the game by following the instructions listed & select Max Installation or Custom Installation and check off everything. If you are installing NBA Live 95, you'll need to change autoexec to the following:

Mount C ".." -freesize 700
This will give you enough space to do a full installation

4. After the installation, from the NBA95 or NBA96 Directories, enter NBA96 to start NBA Live 96 or NBA95 to start NBA Live 95.

5. Open your Stargun DOSBOX Config File & Change the Following:

3. FIFA Soccer 96-97

This Section will teach you on how to install the EA's FIFA Soccer Series in your Stargunner Folder. FIFA Soccer & FIFA 97 for DOS are the only EA DOS Games that's NOT Compatible.
FIFA 97 contains the Windows Version which won't work on Modern Systems

1. If you have the FIFA 96 CD-ROM, insert it in your hard drive.

2. Open Stargunner in DOSBOX then enter Mount D D:\ -t cdrom

3. Enter Install to Install the game by following the instructions listed & select Max Installation or Custom Installation and check off everything.

4. After the installation, from the FIFA96 Directories, enter FIFA to start FIFA 96

5. Open your Stargun DOSBOX Config File & Change the Following:

NOTE: FIFA 96 does work in DosBox but the game will freeze the game ends in a Tie and should the game go into Sudden Death Overtime.

4. Hardball 3-5

This Section will teach you on how to install the Hardball Baseball Series in your Stargunner Folder. Hardball 3 is compatible but you need to enter a new directory when installing to the Hard Drive in HardBall 3's Options Setup Screen. Hardball 6, on the other hand, contains the Windows Version Only and won't work on Modern Systems.

1. If you have the Hardball 3, Hardball 4, Hardball 5 or Hardball 5 Enhanced CD-ROMs, insert it in your hard drive.

2. Open Stargunner in DOSBOX then enter Mount D D:\ -t cdrom

3. Enter Install to Install the game by following the instructions listed & select Max Installation or Custom Installation and check off everything. When installing Hardball 5 Enhanced, enter HB5E as the directory.

4. After the installation, from the HB3, HB4, HB5 or HB5E Directories, enter HB3, HB4 or HB5 to play Hardball 3, Hardball 4, Hardball 5 or Hardball 5 Enhanced

5. Open your Stargun DOSBOX Config File & Change the Following:

NOTE: Hardball 5 Enhanced has a Preview of Hardball 6 Image and after quitting the game, select Register Later when the Register Screen appears to fully exit the game.
However, Hardball 6 is Very Hard to Find & Very Overpriced when you do find it and the PlayStation Version, Hardball 99, is the same as Hardball 6, as it is one of the Most Rare Windows Games out there.

NOTE 2: As for Hardball 1-2, they may or may not work on DosBox.

5. PGA Tour Golf 90-96

This Section will teach you on how to install the EA's PGA Tour Series, Pre Tiger Woods Era, in your Stargunner Folder. Most of the PGA Tour Games work in DosBox

1. If you have the PGA Tour Golf, PGA Tour 486, PGA European Tour or PGA Tour 96 CD-ROMS, insert it in your hard drive.

2. Open Stargunner in DOSBOX then enter Mount D D:\ -t cdrom

3. Enter Install to Install the game by following the instructions listed & select Max Installation or Custom Installation and check off everything. This includes Golfers & Courses.

4. After the installation, from the PGA, PGA486, PGAEURO or PGA96 Directories, enter PGA, PGA486, EUROPGA or PGA96 to start PGA Tour Golf, PGA Tour 486, PGA European Tour or PGA Tour 96

5. Open your Stargun DOSBOX Config File & Change the Following:

6. Unnecessary Roughness 94-96

This Section will teach you on how to install the Unnecessary Roughness Series in your Stargunner Folder. Unnecessary Roughness 96 may NOT be compatible with DosBox

1. If you have the Unnecessary Roughness 94, Unnecessary Roughness 94 NFLPA Edition, Unnecessary Roughness 95 or Unnecessary Roughness 96 CD-ROMs, insert it in your hard drive.

2. Open Stargunner in DOSBOX then enter Mount D D:\ -t cdrom

3. Enter Install to Install the game by following the instructions listed & select Max Installation or Custom Installation and check off everything. This includes Golfers & Courses.

4. After the installation, from the UR94, UR94NFL, UR95 or UR96 Directories, enter UR to start Unnecessary Roughness 94, Unnecessary Roughness 94 NFLPA Edition, Unnecessary Roughness 95 or Unnecessary Roughness 96

5. Open your Stargun DOSBOX Config File & Change the Following:

NOTE: Setting the Cycle count to AUTO or MAX will cause the game to go Too Fast, so set a FIXED Cycle count of 25,000 or 30,000 when playing Unnecessary Roughness 94.
25,000 to 30,000 is the Default Cycle Count for Stargunner.
After launching the game, skip the introduction to proceed to the title screen.
In UR94 NFLPA, the Receiving Team doesn't catch the football at a Kickoff, resulting in a Touchback 20 Yard Start.

7. Triple Play Baseball 97

This Section will teach you on how to install the EA's Triple Play Baseball in your Stargunner Folder. Triple Play 97 for DOS is the only EA DOS Game that's NOT Compatible as it contains the Windows Version which won't work on Modern Systems.

1. If you have the Triple Play Baseball 97 CD-ROMs, insert it in your hard drive.

2. Open Stargunner in DOSBOX then enter Mount D D:\ -t cdrom

3. Enter Install to Install the game by following the instructions listed & select Max Installation or Custom Installation and check off everything.

4. After the installation, from the TP97 Directories, enter TP to start the game.

5. Open your Stargun DOSBOX Config File & Change the Following:

This Section will teach you on how to install the EA's Madden NFL Series in your Stargunner Folder. Both Madden 96 & Madden 97 are NOT Compatible as they contains the Windows Version which won't work on Modern Systems.

1. If you have the Madden 96 or Madden 97 CD-ROMs, insert it in your hard drive. The 96 Version is called Madden Limited Edition.

2. Open Stargunner in DOSBOX then enter Mount D D:\ -t cdrom

3. Enter Install to Install the game by following the instructions listed & select Max Installation or Custom Installation and check off everything.

4. After the installation, from the Madden Directories, enter MADDEN to start the game.

5. Open your Stargun DOSBOX Config File & Change the Following:

9. Joe Montana Football

This Section will teach you on how to install the SEGA's Joe Montana Football in your Stargunner Folder.

1. If you have the Joe Montana Football Floppy Disks, insert it in your hard drive. As this game Requires the Direct Disks to Install, if you combine the disks and install the game in that state, DosBox will freeze.

2. Open Stargunner in DOSBOX then enter Mount A A:\

3. Enter Install to Install the game by following the instructions listed & select Max Installation or Custom Installation and check off everything.

4. After the installation, from the Montana Directory, enter MONTANA to start the game.

5. Open your Stargun DOSBOX Config File & Change the Following:
