Introduction
Hello! This is a comprehensive guide to parking code within the State of Brighton. This guide will list several violations (and the proper fine/punishment for each), not including, expired plates,
expired meters, special parking zones, and sidewalk parking.

Now, I can't control the game if it bugs, however I can help prevent you from losing CP points for a preventable mistake!
Expired Plates
Expired plates are illegal in the state of Franklin, so, you can issue tickets for them. While you can see them driving around when walking or in your cruiser, you can spot parking offenses too! One game the way assists you is by making the tags a different color.

2019 Tags - Bright Pink
2020 Tags- Neon Blue
2021 Tags- A "Highlighter" Yellow

As I am writing this guide of 2/9/2024, I have no further information on tags that may be from a more newer year.

When you see an expired tag, you can issue a ticket the same way you would write an expired meter ticket through the menu. Memorize the tag colors so you can more efficiently write tickets.

2020 tags will be more difficult to determine their validation, however, they won't be extremely hard. Look at the plate (right click), then check the other side of the plate, the other side where the tag is, you will then see the abbreviation for the month. Check the date of your game, and determine if the vehicle in question has an expired plate.

Expired Meters
This is a simple chapter, in MOST spots of the city, cars are legally obligated to pay for parking, if they are caught still parked when their parking timer runs out, they can be issued a ticket. Look for the red background and white lettering stating "EXPIRED" and if they show, write them a ticket by interacting with their car. If you slow roll past meters, you can see the red background, and issue tickets.

Oh, and cars that are handicapped are extempt from these meters. You can see if a car is handicapped if they view a handicap placard in their mirror.
Sidewalk Parking
Throught the city of Brighton, there are several illegal sidewalk parkers. Leaving a vehicle on a sidewalk without paying for any sort of parking or not parking in a designated parking zone ON the sidewalk is illegal.

Lets look at the right from wrong.

This is how you correctly park on the sidewalk, where there is designated parking lines. It's pretty obvious when a place is designated for parking.

This is the incorrect way to park. Feel free to cite!

For those grinding to get SP points, you can write both a parking ticket and tow their vehicle.

You should cite this under NO PARKING AREA.
Street Cleaning (Otherwise Known As No Parking Zones)
I've seen several people make incorrect parking tickets while on duty. These are due to the "Street Cleaning Signs"/ no parking signs spread around everywhere. I'll show you how these signs work and what they are saying.

Under all the big text, there is a timeframe. Check the timeframe with the clock in the corner, and confirm that street parking is permitted. If it is not permitted, you may cite!
No Stopping/Tow Zone Sign (Hydrant Parkers)
This sign means that anyone who parks in between these signs, they can be towed.

Also, anyone who does park in-front of a hydrant, can be wrote a citation and towed away.

Crosswalk Parkers
People decide they want to park close to the intersection, which is illegal. If they are close to a intersection, where they are just about on the crosswalk, they can receive a ticket for parking to close to a crosswalk.

There will be no meter at this point, and they will park by usually a street light.
Incorrect Positoning

A driver who has their left (or right) two tires parked over the curb can be cited for being parked on the curb.

A driver who is parked too far from curb should be cited! However, many eyeball and misjudge what counts as "too far". A good way to test this, if your character can fit in the street between the car and the curb, without stepping on the curb, you can cite for improper positioning.

A driver who is parked facing oncoming traffic should be cited for facing the wrong direction.

Reminder, none of these offenses are reasons you can tow a car.
Handicapped and Taxi's
I don't have any pictures for this one, however, you can hopefully see with me.

Some spots on the street are reserved for handicapped drivers and taxi drivers. "SHIFT" is the main Uber company in Brighton, they also have "taxi" on their plate. You can see if someone has a reigstered vehicle under taxi if they have the "SHIFT" tag in their windshield and the text "TAXI" on their plate. Check these at reserved taxi stands!

Some spots are for handicapped parking, you can see if someone is handicapped if they display a handicapped placard in their mirror.

If none of these match to the vehicle in their respective reserved parking space, write them a citation and tow their vehicle.

Remember, taxi's don't need to be marked taxi's, they can be normal civilian vehicles too.
Cars Parked Illegally In-front of Bus Stops
In the new update, the "Anti-Drug Update", cars will now illegally park in-front of bus stops located around the city. The easy way to catch offenders is by driving around the city paying attention to the bus stops. If a car is illegally parked in-front of a bus stop, write them a ticket. I'm sure you know what a bus stop looks like, just verify that they are in the dotted lines designated for the bus.
Towable Offenses
The following offenses are towable if said violater is found to be guilty.

Parking next to a fire hydrant.
Too close to a crosswalk.
No parking area (Sidewalk)
Emergency Access (Special Zone)
No Parking zone (Labled by sign, see street cleaning chapter)
Handicapped Zone (Special Zone)
Taxi Zone (Special Zone)
Cars Parked In-front of City Bus Stops (Special Zone)
Cars with Expired License Plates

Conclusion and goodbye
Thank you for taking the time to read through the guide, although I am almost 100% positive that this is a flawless guide, please take everything with a grain of salt.

Happy ticketing!

Yeah this game is so damm buggy. I have parked truck in street cleaning area., they do have handicap. But no matter what ticket I give. Nothing works.

The sign says. handicap parking. Then says
No parking 12am to 4am street cleaning Wednesday
No parking 8am 12noon. Street cleaning Wednesday.

I tried 3 times with street cleaning ticket and lost -5 points each time.
It says in map and in game 1:17am Wednesday,

Playing on ps5.
