Ya, no it doesn't....at least not in the vanilla game...other icons yes, but not the death marker. It stays until you die again, then it just moves to the latest death location.

Reborn matey but pissed off with the perminent skull right on my entrence to the path going up so posted a complaint and feature rerquest to remove the skull after gear is picked up.
