How to get custom DBD icons

this guide is about how to get custom icons on dbd like how you see some streamers have!

ill try my best to help and explain

How to install dbd icon toolbox

heres the steps for the people that wanna use this steam guide!
its really simple dont worry

first thing to do if of course have the game after that go on your main browser or whatever you use to search the internet search up (dbdicontoolbox)
and once your there you click the download button up in the site to get to the download page
there you simply download it ( if you dont feel like downloading it or feel as if its unsafe then dont) but i personally use it and it works perfect for me after downloading it you will get a blue window that says (Windows protected your pc) but its doing that because (The license to sign a Windows desktop application costs $400 a year. If the community is willing to front the money, I’ll pay for it. Otherwise I’ve made the repo open source so you can be sure I’m not up to any funny business.) thats from their own website after u get that window just click *more info* its a small text in that window after that you should get the option to (run anyway) now once you click that the app dbd icon toolbox will be installed on your pc simply make sure dbd is close and open the application in the application its simple find a icon pack you like you can click details to see what the pack has to offer and then click install and then click confirm give it a second or two and it should install on your dbd and then just open your dbd and it should be there!
(they have NFSW icon packs and if you want them or wanna see what they have go to settings then click *show NSFW* and you will be able to see it!

to remove a icon pack is simple on the left side of the application you will see something that says install default packs click that and you should be able to install the defaults

simple as that i hope this helps anyone wondering

I avoided doing this as I worry about getting banned. Sure I don't see anything wrong with it, I just don't want to get in trouble.

shaders and dbd icon tool box are two things i have been using for years now so to anyone that is scared of being banned...dont be they wont do anythingabout the icons and they give you permison to use reshade

i see how it would be cheating tbh but i wouldnt understand why getting a modded icon pack would end up getting you banned since i dont really see how it would affect you or others since no one else sees your icon pack unless seen from your screen but modding characters and etc could affect gameplay

I mean, modding your character SHOULD be bannable imo. Devs can't control if you mod your character ever so slightly for aesthetic reasons, or to make a survivor really bright to make them a lot easier to see, so it would be safe to just make it bannable completely. I've seen people mod their game to make certain environments in the game transparent, to make cross sniping and just general tracking a lot easier for killer. Not to mention, same advantages goes to survivor as well.

never heard that anyone got banned for it i see people modding their characters aswell so im not sure but i personally would say its 100% safe

No one on record has ever been banned for changing the icons. Even though they say it's not 100% safe, literally 100% of the people who have done it have not been banned due to it.

yes you can do it manually but this makes it easier but ill make a tutorial on the manual way aswell for the people that dont wanna download a application for it
