Gmod Tower Guide [Lobby #1]

This is a guide for Gmod Tower ( also called GMT ) beginners. I'll try to show as much as information i can and i'll keep updating this guide. And if you could help me with this i would be very grateful.

Before We Start

We need to have everything up to date and installed.

Check if you have these Games:

• Team Fortress 2

But how do i get them?

You can download Team Fortress 2 for free.
You can get Counter-Strike: Source 2 ways:

• First way. Buy and download Counter-Strike: Source
  
• Second way. Download Counter-Strike: Source Content for Gmod.

How to download Counter-Strike: Source Content for Gmod:

You can search for it by Google or Youtube or you can download from this site: https://mega.co.nz/#!bIZhzDjK!s858nGXCiJY0PNCCzbLX9m4tThHWExfMfXROV1fKyZQ and https://mega.co.nz/#!7JoXjAgI!bcGMXmaA1yR-20d-Q_q6Kse0tp_nHRJeOwngCO68-MA
When your download is finished locate you Gmod addons folder. Example:
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\garrysmod\garrysmod\addons
Then put the folder in there.

Check or download Gmod Tower Content:

There are 2 ways:

• First way ( Recommended ). Go here: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=132780836 And scroll down till you see the Subscribe to all button then press it.
  *If you see Gmod updating you did it right*
  
• Second way. Go here: http://www.gmtower.org/index.php?p=downloads
  And scroll down till you see Download GMT Updater then click it. It will start downloading it. Once it's finished to open it you will need Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1.
  If you already have it you can skip this but if you don't download it trough here:
  http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=22
  Once you have installed that open the GMT Updater and click common. If it's not showing there do this: Click Browse... and locate your Gmod addons folder. Example:
  C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\garrysmod\garrysmod\addons
  Once you done that click Finish and then Ok. Now press Update and wait till it's finished. Once finished you will see In the right corner a box that says YES. That means that you have done everything ok and you can now join the server.

Joining Gmod Tower Server

Joining The Server:

There are 4 ways:

• First way. Finding it in Gmod Server list
  
• Second way. Go here: http://www.gmtower.org/ and click CONNECT TO GMT.
  Then Click on JOIN SERVER #1 or JOIN SERVER #2
  
• Third way. Connect to server through console.
  
  But how do i open/enable console?
  
  In-Game open Options > Advanced... and click/check Enable developer console.
  After that open your console with ~ ( Default ) or whatever key you changed it to.
  Then type join.gmtower.org to join #1 or join.gmtower.org:27021 to join #2
  
• Fourth way. Add these servers to you favourites.
  
  But how do i add them?
  
  In-Game click Find Multiplayer Game > Legacy Browser > Favorites > Add a Server.
  Then type join.gmtower.org for #1 or join.gmtower.org:27021 for #2 and click Add this adress to favorites.
  After that double click the server and you will join.

TAB/Inventory/Emotes

This will show you how to use your TAB and your Inventory

• TAB

To open you TAB press TAB button.
Then you will see something like this.
Now you can choose Players, Outfit, Awards, Settings, News, About.

• Outfit

Here you can choose what outfit you have and change the color of it.

• Awards

Here you can check what achievements you got and which you can get.

• News
  Here you can read the news.

• About
  Here you can read what Gmod Tower is about.

• Inventory
  By holding Q you open your Hotbar. Hover your mouse over the Hotbar to look at your Inventory.
  Here you can equip items or delete them or even move them in trunk if you have a backpack.

• Emotes
  By holding C you open the Emotes Bar. By clicking on one of the Emotes/Actions you do it. Heres me waving below.

Getting Started

When you first join you will spawn in Train Station area.

Rules

First i would highly recommend you to read the rules:

• NO MIC SPAMMING
  
• NO CHAT SPAMMING
  
• NO RACISM, SEXISM, HOMOPHOBIA OR DISCRIMINATION
  
• NO IMPERSONATING DEVELOPERS
  
• NO SELLING GMC FOR REAL LIFE CURRENCIES OR ITEMS
  
• NO EXCESSIVE TROLLING
  
• NO SPEED HACKING, AIMBOTTING AND SIMILAR TOOLS
  
• NO SCRIPTING BINDS
  
• NO ADDING SEXUALLY EXPLICT VIDEOS TO THEATER
  
• NO SEXUALLY EXPLICIT SPRAYS

First Things First

When you will go out of the Train Station you will find yourself in the Main Lobby.
Then there will be 3 ways leading to different things:

• Entertainment Plaze ( Shops, Arcade, Bar )

Buy things and play

• Theater ( Shops, Movies etc. )

Buy things at the vending machine and watch videos/movies

• Teleporters

You can teleport to Gamemodes and Suites

• News/Changelogs

You can read news and changelog.

Other Places

This will show you the other places you can visit.
To visit them ( Except for the last one ) you will need to go upstairs from Train Station

• Lobby Roof
  A bonus area for Lobby that if you jump down you get the Human Blur Award.

• Lakeside
  Has a small river and a Wondering Merchant

• Pool
  Has a pool and a Bar Lady

• Dev HQ
  Has nothing for now

Theater

You can go here from Main Lobby.
Theater is pretty fun and awesome ( But not always. )

• Theater

You can watch videos/movies here with or withour your friends.

• Moon Theater

It's a remake/easter of the classic Theater and doesn't do anything diferent.
You can get to there by pressing E on the cup like in the picture below

Arcade

This is located in Entertainment Plaza.

Arcade

This is divided in 3 floors:

• Third Floor

This is the Main Arcade Centre I would say. Why?
Becouse it has the most fun games including Doom, Portal and etc.

• Second Floor

This floor is full of Checkers so you can play it with friends or strangers.
You can also buy Checkers for you suite.

• First Floor

The last floor. You won't see people around here. This place is desserted. I never got into a match with these so i don't even know what to tell... Sorry

Shops

You can buy many things from shops. From Hats to Potions and stuff...

Casino Wild 7/Poker

Now we will learn about Wild 7 and Poker.

• Wild 7

This is bassically like a real casino machine.
To win a jackpot you need to get 3 Eagles

• Poker

Basically real poker. Don't know how to play? Me neither.

Vending Machines

Here You will learn about Vending Machines
You can find then in Theater Hallway and in Entertainment Plaza

• Vending Machine

Here you can buy size potions and effects that change your bodyparts/things.

Teleporters

You can go here from the Main Lobby.
This is how the Teleporter looks:

To choose where to teleport just hover your mouse over and click E on:

• Gamemodes
  
• Suites

Suites

You can get here from Teleporters.

• Suite Lady

This lady will give you access to your own suite.
just talk to her and press Yes then Goodbye and you should be assigned to a room.
Now to find your room.

• 3 Corridors

Just go through the one that has a green door.
















Now we can talk about the suite types:

• Green Suite

This means that your suite and you can access it.

• Blue Suite

This means that someone else's suite is open and you can access it.

• Red Suite

This means that someone else's suite is closed and you can't access it.

• White Suite

This means that no one is owning that suite.

• Party Suite

This means that the suite is having a party.

• Settings

This little thingy let's you change your suite settings.

• Suite

Welcome to your Suite.
Now do whatever you want with it. Just hold Q and Click-Drag the item you want.

Gamemodes

Here you will learn about all the gamemodes and how to play them.
By playing these you will earn GMC ( In-Game Currency )

• Minigolf

Minigolf is a re-creation of real golf. To win you must get into a hole.
The longer your cursor is the more powerfull your shot will be.
You shoot yourself with Left Click and look around with Right Click.

• Source Karts

Source Karts is a re-creation of mario karts. To win you must cross the finish line.
In Source Karts your goal is to finsh 1st so knocking off enemies is your job.

Controls:



WASD : Movement
Space : Handbrake ( Drift )
R : Reset
Control ( CTRL ) : Brake
C : Toggle Third-First Person
E : Horn
Left Click : Use Item
Left Click ( Hold ) : Throw Item
Right Click ( Hold ) : Look Backwards
Right Click + Left Click : Use Item Backwards

• PVP Battle

To win you must get the highest kills. Headshots are doable. Left Click shoot, Right Click shoot, zoom ( Only on some weapons ).
TIP: If you shoot at the ground with a shotgun you will rocketjump.

• Ball Race

To win you must get to the finish hole and not fall off. You move with AWSD

• Chimera Hunt

To win as a Pig you must push the button on the Chimera's back with E or Left Click.
As Chimera you have to kill all the Pigs in order to win. Left Click bites, Right Click roars, R swings your tail.

• Zombie Massacre

To win you must survive all the days. Before the round will start you will be able to pick a class. With Left Click you shoot, Right Click activates your special attack, Q switches weapons.

• Virus

To win you have to survive as the survivor all round or if you are an infected you have to infect everyone. Left Click shoot, Right Click shoot, zoom ( This works only on some weapons ), C quick adrenaline

Achievements/Awards

I'll tell what are the Achievements for and what can you get from them.

Awards

For completing any Achievement you will get 500 GMC ( In-Game Currency ).
But that's not all. You can get cool things like:

• Trophies

This is a special item.
You get it by completing a Achievement.
You can put them in your Suite.

• Milestones

You can get items that are SUPER AWESOME.
From Player Models to Effects to Suite Furniture even Pets!
You can get them by completing milestones.

Other Useful Information

In this i'll tell you other useful information you should/need to know.

• Jukebox

Jukebox let's you play a song you want.
It costs 5 GMC per song.

• TV

TV i would say is the best suite item. You can watch YouTube from it.
Just press E on it and it should look like that below. Then press Q and press Select Video. After that you just need to search for a video and press on it to watch.

• Hat Collection

This just shows off how many hats you have.

• Trunk

This is where you can keep you items.
If you have a Backpack bought, you can then access the Trunk from everywhere.

• Piano

Acts just like a real Piano. You can create songs with it and it can be placed in your Suite.

• Blender

You can mix the ingredients to get some drinks.

• Extremly Bright Color Code

Here I will show you how to get this Extremly Bright Color.[/list]

• First. Copy this: 10000
  
• Second. Open your TAB > Outfit.
  
• Third. Set your color to black.
  
• Fourth. Paste 10000 Infront of every 0 like shown below.

Note: Right Click then Paste. Recommended

• Rave Ball, Disco Ball

Rave and Disco Balls are almost the same. They only have different effects.

• Loading Slow?

Add mat_hdr_level 0 in Console/Startup Commands. (High Dynamic Range)
It's literally the worst thing...

You can donate the Server but it's optional.
This is just to keep the Server alive.
