Overview
Seeing that there isn’t any achievement guide yet here on Steam and how few people actually found the hidden collectables (around 1 percent as of this date), I decided that I’d quickly throw some information together as a reference for future players. I also included some screenshots where necessary, because when I tried to look up this stuff myself I often had trouble deciphering the direct locations in minute-long YouTube videos. Anyway, here goes.

Short warning upfront: There is NO level replay option (as of this date of the guide), even if you finish the game. Which means, once you have missed an achievement or any collectable, you have to start over from the very beginning. And even though the game can be finished in under 2 hours, I guess a replay isn’t always too much fun and actually can be annoying with the trickier sequences later in the game in mind. Because of this, I’d heavily advise you to do regular backups of your save file, at least at the end of each level, and better even before fickle-to-trigger achievements. The save file location is at User – your name - Appdata – Locallow – Aspyr – Morkredd. If you can’t find it, remember that the AppData folder is normally hidden and must be made visible in the folder options in the system settings by ticking the appropriate box to show those folders. Also best turn off Steam cloud while messing around with save files.

There are 22 achievements altogether. A large part of them revolve around not dying in each level, the rest revolve around secret actions and finding secret murals. There’s mostly always 1 secret action (not in The Prologue and The River) and 1 secret mural (not in the Prologue) in each level.

I tried to document as much as I could with the screenshots, but sometimes it wasn't easy because of the time factor in-between sequences as well as the small light cone. Environments often also pretty much look alike, so I'll do my best to explain a bit here and there in detail.

Gameplay Achievements
Starting a game

Working Together
Start a co-op game

Dying

Happens automatically and pretty fast I guess. Best to trigger the achievement as soon as possible and then start a new game, because else you'll miss one of the next achievements.

Afraid of the dark
Get killed by a shadow

No-dying-achievements

Definitely hard achievements to get without some tricks. Problem is, like stated above, you can’t replay certain levels, so if you just mess up once (which happens often due to the ball rolling too fast or you slightly pushed in the wrong angle), the whole level achievement is lost. While the Prologue or the River level are still very easy to get, later levels at the end are quite fickle. Especially hard in this regard is the last achievement to finish the whole game without dying. To be honest, I can’t imagine too many people going for that achievement the regular way. A possibility to alleviate the pain is either to do regular backups of your save file (see above how) or, as an easier method, else I heard it is possible to exit to the Main Menu after you die and continue from there (as long as you don't pass another checkpoint, the death obviously does not count then). I can't confirm this method personally, but .rousa (thanks; see Comments section at the bottom) validated it.

Finishing the game

As the game is pretty short, it’s not really a problem to finish the game within 120 minutes I guess, at least judging from the much higher percentage of people who got this achievement. Though I can’t say how many mistakes you can make and how much time you can waste. If you’re going for the No-Dying achievements, you’ll get the speedrunner achievement most likely as well, because you don’t have to repeat sequences. That saying, time obviously stops when saving and exiting the game, so you can do it in several sessions.

Secret Actions Achievements
For those achievements you have to do small tasks in a level that normally aren't very obvious.

Sewers

Spare no one
Squish all the worms

There are 4 locations where worms spawn throughout the level. At first between some kind of 2
gates with levers, right after this another 2 single worms, then in a larger room between a lot of pipes, and finally when you cross the chasm over the 2 pipes. What's a bit annoying, you have to roll the ball around everywhere to trigger those worms, so only continue on your way when you're sure you've illuminated every corner of those locations. Especially missable is the place between the gates in the small alcove in the back (behind the lever bridge) on screenshot 1. Achievement should trigger on those pipes over the chasm.

_____

Mountain

Tickling feet
Disturb all the legs

There is a larger area after the forest where strange feet that look like trees are, and when you bump into them they withdraw upwards. 3 areas mainly, first the larger one where you have to walk through, besides that the small opening to the secret mural north/up at the beginning of the area (marked in the screenshot), And the last 2 feet are in the location right after this area at the next puzzle. Achievement should trigger once you tickled the last foot (it doesn't matter that those last 2 ones come down again).

_____

Temple

Not of sound mind
Make noise with all the wind chimes

This achievement can be a little fickle. There are 4 locations where you'll find those wind chime groups. When you touch them, they'll attract those light snails and they will turn. First when the mechanic is introduced (1 group), then following the snail (3 groups), a bit later, same snail between the stairs (1 group) and last one a few puzzles later in the room with the snail and the lever (2 groups) Well, in general the problem here is, it's not enough to ring just one of each group, no, you have to ring EVERY part of of those groups at least once. It's rather impossible to do this without dying, but good news, you are allowed to die, and the chime will still count. You'll probably need several tries for each group, and better be sure and do it several times, until you're half-sure that every chime really moved at least once (it's often difficult to tell, and you die fast because of the snail). Especially the chimes that are half in the dark in the second location are hard to see. Of course the achievement therefore collides with the no-dying achievements, so be sure to backup before that, also because of the fickle nature of the achievement (you can easily miss one).

_____

The Meat/The End

Pimple popper
Pop 50 pimples in The Meat

You have to step on 50 of those bubbles that grow and explode. A good place for that achievement is the small bridge where lots of bubbles spawn. Just stay with one character behind and let the other walk over all these bubbles until the achievement pops, doesn't take long.

Murals
There are 5 hidden murals and 7 regular ones. The regular ones shouldn't be missable I think, but I'm not sure if it's theoretically possible to not trigger single ones by passing them at a greater distance. So for that reason and for sake of completion, I'm listing here all murals (in the order of the Discovery Menu).

_____

The Prologue

Mural 1 and 2 (regular):
Shortly after the beginning.

_____

Sewers

Mural 3 (regular):
Along the way.

_____

Mural 4 (hidden):

After passing the puzzle with the weights, don't proceed into the next area yet, but roll the ball down the path where the lever is in the screenshot, straight to the lower right.

Puppet master
Find a mural in The Sewer

_____

River

Mural 5 (regular):
After the eye, the river flows directly along it.

_____

Mural 6 (hidden):
Around mid-level there’s a strong current. Try to keep to the north/back of the river. Once the water opens a bit, look for a waterfall in the back, it’s hardly noticeable in the dark (in the upper left of the screenshot). After crossing it to the inside there’s the hidden mural.

The plague
Find a mural in The River

_____

Mountain

Mural 7 (regular)
In the corner during one of the tree log rolling puzzles.

_____

Mural 8 (hidden):
At the location with all the feet, right at the beginning before proceeding, go to the north/upper screen. There's a small passage with a removable foot in the way.

Rise up
Find a mural in The Mountain

_____

Temple

Mural 9 (regular):

_____

Mural 10 (hidden):
Now, this mural is probably the trickiest one, because it involves some backtracking. Advance through the level until you see this ring-like structure that you have to turn. You want to get in the back behind it for the mural, but you're yet missing a light. So proceed until right after the regular mural, and there get the portable light source (screenshot 1). After that go all the way back to this ring, and turn it so that the opening leads into the dark. Go down there and you'll find the mural.

Ascendance
Find a mural in The Temple

_____

The Meat/The End

Mural 11 (regular):
Near the end of the level. Should be the last mural you find and trigger the achievement for finding all of them.

Collector
Find all the discoveries

_____

Mural 12 (hidden):
Quite some time into the level you'll get to dark tentacle fields with blue light spots in them. Pass the first field. But a bit later you'll arrive at a second, much larger one. From the checkpoint in the middle of this field, head up and then look for a hidden opening to the upper right. I tried to mark the position on the screenshot.

Addendum: Achievement Checklist by Chapter

Closing Words
Hope this guide helps a few people to have more fun in the game. I had to write some stuff out of memory, so there might also be some minor mistakes in it, can't rule that out. And I apologize upfront for any unclear explanation and screenshot, sometimes it's difficult to describe something the easy way.

Anyway, thanks for your time, cheers!

No worries. I wanted to write a bit more about all the AppData-hidden-folders problem anyway, so this occasion you gave me was kind of ideal ;)

Thanks for clarifying! I missed that part in the guide. :)

I shortly wrote about this in the Overview of the guide above, but no problem, I’ll elaborate a bit more about that. The save files are located in User – your name - AppData – LocalLow – Aspyr – Morkredd. The AppData folder is normally hidden by Windows standard, so if you can’t see this folder, you first have to go to the Windows Settings, and there enter into the search field ‘File Explorer Options”. A small window should pop up. Click on the slider ‘View’, and there, under the point ‘Files and Folders’ tick the little box ‘show hidden files, folders and drives’. Then OK/Apply, and after that you should be able to find the save folder.

Make a backup copy of your Morkredd folder at the checkpoint before getting to the first wind chime (best exit the game first), then try to get the achievement, and if it didn’t work, just exchange your new Morkredd folder with the backup one. I’d also advise to turn Cloud saving off for Morkredd meanwhile, because I don’t know if this could mess with the files and mix something up. Hope this helps ;)

Thanks for the guide!
One thing I missed are those damn wind chimes. Do you know how I could back up the save file? So that I can replay the part in case I don't get them all again.

Always glad when I can help :)

No worries, also yeah thanks for the great guide. Made the 100% much easier for sure

@.rousa: Thanks for the confirmation! I included it in the guide. And @BrianZ_95 and Wolke, thanks for the nice words!
.rousa Aug 14, 2021 @ 11:02pm
I can confirm that what he describes here
'to exit to the Main Menu after you die and continue from there (as long as you don't pass another checkpoint, the death might not count then)' is correct.

As long as you quit out after each death and then continue from main menu, your death wont count as long as you haven't passed another checkpoint.

Bless up bro, i couldn't find another guide anywhere so props to you!
