How to play Syberia 2 in any subtitle/audio combination available
By markoh00
This is essentially the same guide I wrote for Syberia which can be found here: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=249515698. In Syberia 2 it is much easier to change the language of the subs/audio since they are contained in two files only. It is however a bit more complicated regarding the language of the cutscenes because there is a bug in the game. A guide to change the language of the cutscenes can be found here: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=249653220. The following is a step by step guide to change the language from subs and spoken language only.

Instructions:
1) Change the language in Steam according to the audio language you want to use and download the game.
2) Browse through your directory and rename the file minimalres.syb in "SteamApps\common\Syberia 2\Data" to avoid that steam will delete it when you follow step 3.
3) Change the language in Steam according to the subtitle and menu language you want to use and let steam update the game.
4) Browse through your directory, delete the new "minamalres.syb" file and rename the file renames in stel 2) back to minimalres.syb.

To change the language in the few cutscenes with dialogue in it please take a look at my other guide: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=249653220

As always I want to make sure that I have tested this just for the beginning of the game and I cannot give a guarantee that there are no side-effects. If you want to be safe make a backup of the original file. If you have questions regarding this guide feel free to ask.

@Gnat: I can't do anything about typos in the subtitles unfortunately. You wrote that the selection of dialogue options is STILL in English. This seems to indicate that it was in English even when you installed the Polish version normally, is this correct? If the game usually has Polish subtitles and dialogue options and polish dub and only because of my workaround gets changed to the English dialogue options I could take a look to see if I could figure this out but if English dialogue options should be normal in the Polish installation things might be a bit different. I will see if I can take a look at it at the weekend. Please tell me exactly which combination of subtitle and audio you'd like to achieve.

After doing everything according to the instructions given above, the game actually changed the dubbing to English, unfortunately the subtitles contain a lot of typos and no national signs (I use Polish). Additionally, the selection of dialogue options is still in English. Is there any solution for this?

@mike_ainsel42: I just tested the GOG version and I doubt the Steam version is much different. Syberia 3 seems to be multi language and you can change subtitles and audio in game settings menu. The combination you want (eng dialogues and polish subs) is possible as well.

Oh I see... however Can I change subtitles language on main menu cause I'm not sure what version I should install... ( I prefer eng dialogs + polish subs )

@mike_ainsel42: I only own Syberia 3 on GOG and never tried to do such a fix for it. However I don't think it will work since Syberia 3 uses Unity which means packed content spreaded across several files. So a simple replacement probably won't work. I can take a closer look but as I said - I don't have high hopes.

thanks for this mods for Syberia I & II but I've got a question: is that working on Syberia 3?
