Bioshock 2 Protector Trails A+ Rank guide

ahh... the Protector Trials the place where useless plasmid become useful and where useful plasmid become somewhat useless.
i love this mode alot, to the point i get A+ rank on everything even game keep crashing on me.

anyway this guide i will point out the difficult part in each trail and help someone incase they need it

The Basics

YOU are weaker than you think try to use cover as much as you can.

you can do a quick swap between weapon to increase DPS and cancel rechamber animation.

make sure to use plasmids like winter blast, shattered enemy will give you money as well.

hack all shops and destroy the further health station for free medkit, some maps has 2 health stations. before start gather adam.

ADS help you tighter the spread of MG and rivet make sure to aim while shooting at long range

also the goal of this DLC is to buying time not kill everything, focus on protecting than killing and stay alive until little sister finished her work.

The plasmids

Alright as i pointed out that useless plasmid become useful here's the list

the insect swarm plasmid is so overpowered and you can beat any trial that has this plasmid alone. since you dont need to search the body for money anymore you can just kill someone off screen and get the reward for it, basically an insta A+ the moment you got it.

the cyclone traps is really versatile dont overlook this thing, it can insta kill small fry, stun alpha series and knockdown brutes.

enrage(hypnotize) also good for add "ally" on you side just dont stand in its way or else you get shot by it.

security command this is the best plasmid for get more ally and dps on something tanky, just summon bots before put little sister down you can summon 2 maximum.

winter blast, the no reward on shatter enemy is not affect the money on this DLC feel free to use it to kill something much easier

the tutorial trails not much to say about 1st and 2nd trials cause its pretty straight forward

i will talk only the 3rd one, the trap bolts in particular, cause maybe im the only who dont use it in main game till i reach here.

so, the way trap bolt works unlike trap rivet, you need to align yourself on where you are cause the line will align on your position instead of wall.
for example like in 9:14 that i put my back against the wall so the rope go to the other side of the door way.

and it has no damage fall off on how far the rope is as long as enemy hit the rope it always deal full damage, and dont get step on it yourself its not like trap rivet where it doesn't trigger on you, trap bolt doesn't care about it, it will trigger regardless. it doesn't deal damage to you tho.

Atlantic Express

Trail 1 summon bots first before gather, keep anti personnel on brutes or when splicer is near little sister.

and you only got around 8 mini sentries available, use wisely.

Trial 2 spam decoy near little sister every 5-10 seconds and put around 3-4 cyclone trap near her and some trap rivets just to make sure, use proxi nade and trap bolts for killing not trapping since you got trap rivet here.

Trial 3 spam insect swarm spam spam spam until little sister finish her work, and use drill charge for kill nearby splicers, keep money for eves. drill charge will one shot every small fry.

Trial 1 use harpoon for killing small frys when brute come use slug for knockdown and spam heavy rivet and harpoon on it, usually around 3 shots to kill if you headshot everything.
use cyclone trapping spawn and on little sister, always keep decoy up.

Trial 2 same advice with trial 1 Atlantic Express keep anti personnel for brutes and use plasmid for more damage. use mini sentries wisely you have limited amount of it.

Trial 3 like trail 3 Atlantic Express spam insect swarm to your heart content, security for focusing target.

the hardest map of this DLC

Trail 1 stay only for 1st floor and just buy only frags, drill gas, health and eve just make sure you keep decoy up all the time use all rocket ammo for killing, always look at little sister after killing from time to time.

if you get an "A" rank on this dont worry about it, it took me around 3-4 tries to get A+ on this trial here

Trial 2 little bit of RNG involve here, anyway, make sure you use enrage on brute and splicer that use guns always hide from enraged splicer's POV so you're not being targeted, use trap bolt for killing.

Trial 3 if you're passed the first and second trails congratulations you earned it, its gonna be a smooth ride from here. now this trial is pretty easy compare to the first and second, put trap on spawn points and nearby little sister and you should be good to go.

Folly of Dionysus

Trial 1&2 pretty straight forward

Trial 3 most fun trail, just like before keep decoy up all the time cyclone nearby little sister and hide and pop out from time to time you cant tank here even you can regen life from using electro bolt and incinerate.

Persephone cells

alpha series enemy start to spawn here just make sure you keep enough distant so you wont get grab by it

Trial 1 the purpose of hack gun is for quick swap just use it, also use incinerate for stall enemy so you can kill around 2 or 3 splicers with one grenade.

Trial 2 remember that slug will always go to the middle of the screen.
buckshot for small fry, slug for knockdown. put traps every where here and trap can stun alpha so always use it while killing it

Trial 3 is pretty straight forward, headshots headshots everything. make sure you ADS while using rivet.
