Introduction

Hello and welcome to the Beginner's Guide to Modding San Andreas. This is a series of videos which covers everything you need to know about modding San Andreas.

There's several misleading videos out there which are using extremely outdated methods to install mods, which can break your game or simply make modding less enjoyable. This series will show you how to downgrade your game, how to install an ASI Loader, Modloader, HD Textures and more, the correct way.

NOTES/UPDATES

NOTES/UPDATES:
-The EXE's are already large address aware, so they can use up to 4GB of ram instead of the default 2GB.
-Downgrading will make your current save files incompatible if you had any with a newer version of the game.
-If for whatever reason Steam tries to update your game, it'll likely break something if it makes any progress. If that happens, it's probably best to just uninstall and start over.

I installed a GTA SA weapon mod a while back into my game, but it didn't work so I removed it. Now whenever I go to Grove Street, my game crashes. I don't have any backup saves, and I think it's caused by weapon pickups for a gun that's no longer in my game.
I want to delete the broken weapon pickups from my save
Can I do that? If so, how?

followed every step in every video and its just not working, anything I can do?

some glitches I found still there in the mod version:
With Frame Limiter turn "OFF", the below actions can not be taken:
+ Dive underwater (LMB to dive under and automatically float up) and the sprint swimming (with hold down the Shift key) is very slow.
+ Can not strafe while aiming (whold RMB to aim and use wasd to move around)
+ Can not work out in the gym (can not Enter an exercise)

Hi TJGM, it is very nice of you to make this comprehensive guide. I have installed all mods included in your videos, it works well and the game is much more smoothly run. However the RoSA original version (2K) can not be downloaded because the ggdrive links get view/download too many times (?). Hope we can have a 2nd download platform for this version?

Now i am using the RoSA Light only, and i can see the details are improved much more than the original Steam version.

the mod loader download link in your description instead of downloading a zip file it downloads a rar and i am downloading the lastest version what should i do

ROSA updates all the games textures, including characters and weapons. Those that aren't changed manually, are done with AI (which is most of the characters).

Hello, you mentioned in your 3rd video about HD Texture and Improved DOP, but how about the models of characters, guns, cars, etc.? Are all these included in the "HD Texture" Mod that u mentioned. I really want to give Modding a go if i can have an "HD" Experience for all aspects of the game.

Is San Andreas running in the task manager? Make sure it's not and then launch. Make sure to delete your San Andreas settings file again too.
