Game Modes
In AOD, there are four game modes: Defense, Escape, Fog, and Survival, which are sequentially unlocked as you progress through the level. Each of them gives access to the following modes. They also bring a reward in Gold, and the Defense mode brings Crystals.
If you complete a level while maintaining 100% base health, you'll get the full reward. If the base is damaged, the reward is reduced in proportion to its safety. However, you can replay the level at any time to improve your score and collect the remaining resources.

Defense
It is the simplest mode with generous rewards. You have to hold back the onslaught of enemies. The number of attacks is indicated at the top of the screen.
The first number indicates the number of the current attack, the second – the total number of attacks.

Escape
The enemy is trying to steal Fuel from your base! That cannot be allowed to happen! In this mode, the enemies move in the opposite direction – from the base to the beginning of the road. Some of them carry barrels. When a unit is destroyed, the barrel remains to lie on the road. Then it is picked up by the next enemy.
The game is lost if the enemy takes out 10 barrels.

Fog
Your task is to protect the base. However, the map is hidden by the "fog of war," dispelling only within the range of the towers. It is a difficult mode since the action radius of the towers is decreased, and the disclosure of the map requires additional resources. The best way to remove the fog is to build radars because they have the largest action radius. It is best to do this before the first attack, and it is advisable to sell unnecessary radars immediately.

Survival
It is an endless game mode in which the repelled enemy attack brings a certain amount of crystals. With each wave, the opponents become more powerful, but the longer you hold out, the greater the reward. Crystals are received after the end of the game.
Towers
The main weapon of the player in AOD is the towers that shoot down the advancing enemies. The game has six main types of towers, which have their skill tree and a unique hero.

When the player builds the base tower on the playing field, it has level 1. For coins, the tower can be upgraded to level 2.
Starting from chapter 2, the 3rd level of tower improvement becomes available, from chapter 5 - the 4th level, from chapter 10 - the 5th level. Except for ASG, any tower can be sold, returning a part of the funds spent on its construction and improvement.

Main towers

Siege house
Specialization: the destruction of infantry.
Improvements: an ability to attack up to four targets at the same time, hand grenades, grenade launcher.

The house is the best means to fight against enemy infantry, but it is ineffective against vehicles. The house advantage is the low price, which makes it valuable when repelling the first attacks. This type of tower is convenient for blocking roads; a Jumper cannot fly over the house. The "Roof Position" perk allows the house to attack aerial targets, dealing them minor damage.

Minigun

The minigun deals well with enemy vehicles and will be indispensable in repelling the first attacks. At the same time, it is not efficient enough against infantry and is useless for armored equipment. The disadvantage of the minigun is that when firing continuously, it overheats and fails for a few seconds. Special perks "Heat-resistant barrels" and "Cooler" increase the shooting duration and reduce the cooling time. After reaching level 45, Alex Tanov gains a skill that cancels the overheating effect. A Combat Helicopter, a Jumper, and a Tribola can fly over the minigun, which should be taken into account when planning a defense.

Hologram
Specialization: slowing down the enemy
Upgrades: it increases damage to nearby towers, it converts into a Money hologram (extra income), or a Tesla (hits groups of ground and air targets with electricity).

At the beginning of the game, the tank may seem weak and slow, but this is a deceptive impression. By purchasing upgrades for one and upgrading the hero-cat, you will get a powerful weapon that will become the backbone of your defense. Tanks are profitable to build on neighboring cells because the "Battle Brotherhood" perk allows you to increase the damage they cause. Despite its power, the tank is ineffective against special forces, so when placing tanks, combine them with siege houses.

The enemy has many aircraft, so do not forget to develop air defense - there is no alternative to it. The Tribola and Jumper cannot fly over the air defense, which is extremely useful when planning a defense.

Gas station
Specialization: sets fire to enemy vehicles and infantry, which receive additional fire damage for some time

The gas station is especially effective at repelling initial attacks, burning out enemy columns. On the last onslaughts, they will not be so helpful, but the coins brought by the gas station will be valuable in any case. It is more profitable to build these towers next to each other because the perk "Partners" repeatedly increases the income they bring. The "Battle Brotherhood" raises the damage inflicted. Thanks to the "Supply" perk, all the towers adjacent to the gas station receive an increase in damage.

The ASG is the only type of turret capable of firing continuously at ships. It does not have its skill tree and hero. The player cannot build or sell ASG – all of them are initially present on the playing field, only their improvement is available.

Katana / Sequoia
Price: 750
A katana is a rocket launcher that strikes ground targets in the player's chosen target area. After each salvo, it takes a considerable time to reload. The katana is particularly effective against infantry, light and medium vehicles, and ships.

The Sequoia perk allows you to combine two Katanas built next to each other into a Sequoia - a missile system with a large radius of destruction that causes significant damage to ground targets, aircraft, and ships.

Bulldozer
Purchase price: 70
After opening the "Bulldozer" perk, the price is 20.
It is a universal barrier for blocking paths and building new routes. A Jumper and a Tribola can fly over the bulldozer, which should be taken into account when building a defense.

Oil pump / Oil Rig
Price: 500
They generate income at regular intervals. After opening the "Oil Rig" perk, two pumps built next to each other combine into an oil rig, which gives significantly more revenue.

By building these towers at the beginning of the game, you can make a profit that is many times higher than their cost. You can upgrade the oil pump and the oil rig in the "Other" skill tree.

Radar
Price: 420
It increases the range of neighboring towers, and after purchasing the "Supply" perk, it gives them additional damage. Radar is essential for passing levels in the Fog mode because it reveals a much larger territory than other tower types. You can purchase improvements for it in the "Other" skill tree.
Heroes
How to put a hero in a tower?
Heroes give the player an exceptional advantage by increasing the characteristics of an individual tower and endowing it with various helpful properties. To use the hero, you need to click on the tower, and then an icon with the image of the hero will appear above it. Click on the icon; it will go down. Done, a hero is in the tower!

How to change the tower for the hero?
At any time, the hero can transfer to another tower. Select a tower and click on the hero icon to make it go up. Selling a tower with a hero inside does not affect anything; the hero can be used immediately in another tower.

Hero level and perks
The hero's tower damage bonus increases by approximately 1.5% with each level gained. To increase it, you need the experience that the hero accumulates when destroying enemies. The transition to the next level is purchased for Gold. Otherwise, the experience stops accumulating. There are no restrictions on leveling up heroes in the game. Heroes have a maximum level of 100.

After every fifth level, special hero perks become available, which you can purchase for Gold at your request. The absence of the previous perk, in most cases, does not affect the receipt of subsequent ones. Perks of heroes are valuable skills that greatly facilitate the passage of the game.

Do not spare the Gold for upgrading heroes - all your investments will be justified when passing difficult levels.

Ostovsky

Ostovsky will be your salvation from enemy infantry, including from the amphibious commandos. His most valuable abilities are increasing the range of the house and setting mines.

Art Lion

The principal function of Art Lion is to increase the range of the hologram. Instant destruction of the enemy is a nice bonus that can help out in certain situations.

As a result, you will have a long-range hero capable of shooting down helicopters and cause significant damage even to armored equipment. All Ich Nebel perks are equally valuable and necessary.

Level 50: Instant turn of the tank turret.

Lucky is one of the most sought-after heroes, thanks to the fact that one gives the tank a crushing power. Among all its perks, the instant turn of the turret is the most important. The rate of fire, triple explosion, and increase the range of fire are significant too. The upgraded tank with Lucky inside will become a universal link of your defense, greatly simplifying the passage of levels.

Jim Jackson
Location: Air defense
Opens: purchase of the "Radar Detector" perk
Perks:
Level 5: Increases the air defense range by 10%.
Level 10: Gives you an anti-aircraft machine gun.
Level 15: Increases anti-aircraft machine gun damage by 20%.
Level 20: Increases the air defense range by 20%.
Level 25: Increases your Air Defense reload speed by 10%.
Level 30: The chance to fire a 5x damage-dealing missile is 1%.
Level 35: Increases the air defense range by 30%.
Level 40: Increases the damage of the anti-aircraft machine gun by 50%.
Level 45: The chance to fire an 8x damage-dealing missile is 2%.
Level 50: Infinite Missiles.

Jim Jackson is an indispensable hero who will provide you with protection from air attacks. Its most considerable perk can be called «Infinite Missiles », which solve the problem of reloading air defense. A helpful acquisition will be an anti-aircraft machine gun, causing massive damage not only to helicopters, but even to flying stealth aircraft. The air defense radius with the hero will allow you to control a significant part of the map, and the launch of super-missiles will be an excellent addition to all of the above.
Additional Weapons
Mines
Price: 300
You lay the mines out on the road. You can improve the number of mines in the set, their power, and explosion radius in the "Other" skill tree. After installing the mines, it takes some time to prepare a new set of them. Mines are ineffective against armored equipment and do not act on a dump truck.

Airstrike
Free bomb attack on the point selected by the player only applies to ground targets and ships. Reloading an airstrike requires a significant amount of time. You can improve it in the "Base" skill tree.
Boosters
The game has three boosters. The player can activate them for a certain amount of Crystals. All of them have a significant impact on the battle and can become a joker in the player's hands. The number of booster activations per game is unlimited.

Ion impact
It destroys all enemy vehicles on the battlefield. The ion shock is not triggered instantly – it takes 3 seconds to activate it.

Damage Increase
For a while, the damage of all towers increases by 100%.

Extra money
One-time addition of 5000 coins.
Game Currency
The game has three types of in-game currency: Gold, Crystals, and Fuel.

Gold
Gold is the most valuable resource, as raising the level of heroes and improving towers is paid only in Gold. The player can get Gold from several sources:
1. For completing the Defense, Escape, and Fog mode levels (the reward is given only for the first pass).
2. By exchanging for Crystals from a trader. A little trick: the merchant sometimes has promotions that allow you to exchange Crystals for Gold at a more favorable rate.
Press advantage of this, accumulate 10,000 Crystals, and exchange them for 15,000 Gold!
3. As a daily reward.
4. For repelling the daily attack.
5. During the battle, Gold can appear in the place of the destroyed enemy. To collect the currency, you need to click on the gold bar. Otherwise, you will lose the reward after completing the game. Quite often, Gold appears when passing a new level. When you play on already completed cards, the chance of getting a reward is minimal.
6. You get a small amount of Gold when assembling each block of the Inola machine.

Crystals
They are used to activate boosters. In addition, you can exchange the Crystals with the merchant for Gold and Fuel. You can obtain Crystals:
1. For completing levels in the Defense mode.
2. As a daily reward.
3. For repelling the daily attack.
4. Just like Gold, Crystals can fall from destroyed enemies. Don't forget to collect them!
5. Selling cards available.
6. You get a small number of Crystals when assembling each block of the Inola machine.
7. You get crystals for completing achievements.

Fuel
Fuel is needed to start the battle. It costs ten units. You can obtain Fuel:
1. This resource is restored at a rate of 1 unit per minute.
2. As a daily reward.
3. By exchanging for Crystals with a merchant.
4. You get a small amount of Fuel when assembling each block of the Inola machine.
Modification cards
During the battle, modification cards can fall out of destroyed opponents (no more than once per level).
To get this card, you need to click on it. Otherwise, you will lose after the end of the game. First, you will get the simple cards, but do not rush to get upset! As you progress through the chapters, the value of the loot will increase, and you will replenish your collection with epic and even legendary cards!

The received cards strengthen the towers, improving their various properties: damage, rate of fire, range, reload speed, reduce the cost of construction, etc. It allows the player to adapt their tactics to complete each level. All of them are divided into five categories: Simple (gray), Advanced (green), Rare (blue), Epic (purple), and Legendary (gold)

Each tower has its own unique set of cards. You can insert only two of them into one tower. Go to the Card menu and drag the card you need into the free slot.
If the slot is occupied, the card you selected will replace the previous one. Please note that you cannot use two cards with the same properties! For example, the game will not allow you to simultaneously insert cards that give +20% and +80% to the rate of fire of the house.

You can sell unnecessary cards for Crystals. To do this, hook the card and drag it to the Sell field that appears.

For a Simple card, you will get 20 Crystals, for Improved – 40, for Rare - 60, for Epic - 80, for Legendary - 100. Please note that it is not possible to return the sold cards!
Daly Reward
Every day, AOD offers its players a small bonus. It can be Gold, Crystals, Fuel, or modification cards.
The daily reward has a 14-day cycle. On the last day, the player gets a card.
There are five such cycles in total, and the value of the reward increases every day. On day 70, the player receives a legendary card, after which the daily reward resets to its original size.

Log in to AOD daily! It will provide you with a constant flow of valuable resources. It will also allow you to collect precious modification cards that significantly strengthen your towers.
Attack on the sector
Starting from chapter 3, the player gets access to repel attacks on the sector. Do not be afraid of the name "attack" - this is just a daily bonus. You have to go through the selected area of the game to get a reward of Gold and Crystals.

After receiving the Daily Reward, a portrait of the main villain appears in the upper-right corner. Click on it, and the game will tell you the number of the attacked sector and the number of resources required for its passage.
Click on the Go button, and you will immediately find yourself on the chapter you need. The attacked sector is marked by a helicopter.
If you want, you may not protect it – this will not affect the gameplay in any way, but you will not receive a reward.
Achievements
The game is a continuous count of destroyed enemies and built structures. When you reach a certain number of them, the player receives a special reward. Also, Gold and Crystals are waiting for those who complete particular tasks. You can view them in the Achievements menu.
Enemies: infantry and vehicles
All opponents in the game are divided into seven types: infantry, trucks, light vehicles, medium vehicles, heavy vehicles, aviation, fleet.

Soldier
Type: Infantry
Vulnerability: siege house, gas station
It is a slow and weak opponent with no additional abilities. It can locate inside the Fisher, SUV, and Hunter.

Special forces
Type: Infantry
Vulnerability: siege house, gas station
They run faster than a soldier, and have a significant health reserve. When hit in the radius of destruction of the tank begin to move to crawl. At the same time, their speed decreases, and the protection from the shelling of the towers increases significantly. Can be inside a Fisher, SUV, Hunter, Crazy Bus, School Bus. It is an aircraft that deactivates defensive towers for an extended time. It has a high flight speed. Immediately after hitting the tower, it switches to a new target. It is extremely dangerous because it can paralyze the player's defense for a short period.

Fighter
Type: Aviation
Vulnerability: air defense
It is fast aircraft, flying around the field three times in a circle before striking the base. Due to the high speed, it is a threat to players with poorly upgraded air defense, if their missiles are not able to catch up with the Fighter. To avoid it, you should timely purchase perks increasing the flight speed of anti-aircraft missiles.

Barracuda
Type: Aviation
Vulnerability: air defense
Moving along the roads, a heavily armored aircraft can change the altitude of the flight.
When Barracuda rises into the sky, it is attacked by the air defense. When it descends to the ground, it is fired by the rest of the towers.
Resistant to tank fire, it passes over mines without harming itself. High survivability and the ability to walk at low altitude makes the Barracuda a dangerous opponent.

Guided Missile Cruiser
Type: Fleet
Vulnerability: ASG
It is a heavily armored ship firing missiles at the base. The player is notified of its appearance and route in advance, during the previous attack. This unit moves to the point indicated on the map and begins firing at the base, launching missiles one after another. Only ASG can fire on it, but it is possible to use airstrikes, katanas, and sequoias on the Missile Cruiser. If you destroy a Missile Cruiser before the missile that took off hits the base, it explodes in the air.
Roads and slots
Roads
All enemy units, except for planes and ships, move only along the roads, choosing the shortest path to the base. Blocking the road forces opponents to choose a new route. If the existing road is the only one, the game will not allow you to block it.

Expressways
Enemy units gain significant acceleration moving along these roads. Try not to let the opponents in these areas!

Slots
In the slots, the player can build their towers. All slots are also roads.

Reinforced and weakened slots
Green ammo slots give your guns a +50% damage bonus. The towers built on them visually look larger than those standing on regular slots. Red skull slots reduce the damage of defenders by 50%. A tower standing on such a slot looks smaller than those built on usual slots.

Changing slots
Before each attack, the two towers located on them are randomly swapped. If there is only one tower, it can be moved to any other changing slot.

Teleports
Teleports connect different parts of the map; each of them has a pair of the same color. Carefully plan your onslaught because some levels, due to teleports, turn into a maze!
General tips
The ability to create new routes is a feature of the AOD, which opens up extensive tactical possibilities. Try to make the enemies go in the most distant way. So, they will stay within the range of the towers for as long as possible. Create an alternative route and drive your enemies back and forth, blocking their way!

You should acquire all the heroes as soon as possible, so that they begin to gain experience. Upgraded heroes will considerably strengthen your defense!

Try to develop your towers equally, without getting carried away by upgrading any one of them. Among the many perks in the skill tree, choose the ones that you need.

When passing through the Fog mode, use the radar-it reveals a much larger territory than other types of towers. Build radars before launching your first attack.

No one but Mr. Evil knows the true purpose of the project "Inola"...
However, it doesn't matter since "Inola" in AOD is a plot element. It does not have any effect on the gameplay. Though, the assembly of its modules brings some resources.

The flash drives needed to build the "Inola" are scattered around the global map. The levels where they are hidden are marked with a special icon.
Do not forget to click on the flash during the battle – it is large and noticeable!

Can't pass the level? Study the map carefully and review your strategy. Complete the previous levels in all modes to gain experience to level up your heroes and Gold to upgrade your towers. Patience and judgment are your best helpers (and not only in computer games).

Excellent! I'll add just one or two things from my experience:

For the Mad Muscle car, the most effective is the siege house tower (it's even written in the game in the foes list), because the siege house hits the car from the top roof which is not armored as the sides

For the Droid, when they are little, the best is the Hologram transformed in Tesla and upgraded, that's the only tower I did found very effective against these bunch of little droids running.

Survival mode is in my opinion the best way to get lots' of Crystals quite fast, yes you need to unlock that last mode by doing the previous ones ;)
