Greetings, everyone.

Just a simple video of the conversation with the Duke, in the Castle demo for Resident Evil Village, repeated for the nine available audio languages.

I was intrigued by how it sounds in the nine different languages available, how they pronounce “Dimitrescu”, since it’s been quite a topic for debate since the very first moment people knew of her name.

I think most of them sound nice, but I do believe the “u” should be pronounced at the end. Not sure if there’s any special rule in any  language that doesn’t allow for that to sound alright, but I don’t see why Capcom would make it so it is pronounced in such a weird way in the English audio version, doesn’t sound natural, in my opinion it’s not that difficult to pronounce the name as it is written, at least not for me, being Spanish, born in Spain, if I had to pronounce it as I see it written, it sounds exactly like the Spanish dub, indeed, and pretty close I believe to how a Romanian speaking person would say it, minus the accent and slight tone variation, the “u” would still be there.

It’s not like I’m going to dislike the English voice over because of this, but it just sounds weird and if we count among the nine languages where the “u” is pronounced, I think only English and Chinese don’t do it, I do believe the Japanese dub does pronounce it but it sounds more like “Do-mi-to-re-su-ku”, or something like that, still I could swear I heard that “u” at the end, but I’m no Japanese expert, so I might be wrong.

I like when it sounds like “Di-mi-tres-koo”, and not whatever Ethan says in English here, haha, but well, they decided it that way, for whatever reason, not trying to start a language battle, I just reckon that the majority of available languages sound more similar to the actual Romanian pronunciation, minus a couple of exceptions, don’t you agree?
