whenever i start the game after putting the headset down it just crashes and never loads

Is there any affordable graphics card that supports it at the moment ?
I've done a bit of research, based on the list provided by oculous

but so far, the situation seems pretty grim.
Suggestions welcome.

I reinstalled and now it works even with virtual desktop. But now it looks like the frames are capped at 40 fps. I have a 2070 super and I'm certain that it isn't my computer, the game is just capped. I tried looking online but only found one other person that said to turn off the ingame gps, but I can't find that option. Currently looking in the game files to see if there is an fps lock hiding somwhere there.

To centre the camera you need to hold down the Oculus Button and click reset view. I don't think virtual desktop will work correctly, you should only be in Link mode.

I get the same VR initialization failed... I don't have steamVR open but I also use virtual desktop. It worked once and I was in VR but the camera wasn't in the right spot and I didn't know how to center it. Had to close the game and look it up, but now it just doesnt work at all

Make sure SteamVR is not active before you start City Car Driving, the game does not require it to launch in vr mode. A few people have had this issue and I'm not sure of a conclusive answer to it, but I will let you know if I find out what causes it. I personally have never had this occur.

I keep getting this error, VR initialization failed. The video output changed to Monitor
