Revelations
Late in Chapter 4, Akiyama meets a guy named Mack Shinozuka, a traveler and photographer seeking "that perfect shot". He teaches Akiyama that much can be learned from great shots, and it therefore follows that if Akiyama finds particularly interesting things to take a picture of, he can learn new moves from the observance.

What this means in simple terms is that when Mack sends you a text talking about a good shot, go to that location and you'll find a person or people essentially "preparing" to have an event. Go into first-person mode and focus on the person/people in question and press X at the Look prompt. The scene will play out, and you'll have three quick-time events in which to take your shots. Once the event finishes, your character will have three selections of "thoughts" to focus on. What you want to choose is the one that goes with what would lead to a new combat move. Once you pick the right one, you'll have the new move available to use. If you choose the wrong answer or miss your shot, you'll have to leave and come back to try again.

Other characters learn about Revelations similarly. Once the concept is mentioned, your character can go find them. Tanimura and Kiryu will get texts from Mack, but Saejima, unaware of this object called a "cell phone", will have to speak to Ken-san, next to Master, or you could just read my list below.

Here's the list of Revelations, when they can be found, who can find them, where they can be found, and what to pick for your character's thoughts:

Akiyama
  • Essence of Triple Strike - This is the first that Mack will point you to directly. The thoughts you want are "Those leaps and bounds were something else."

  • Essence of Comebacks - Go to the west entrance of Little Asia, just south of Beam. You'll see a trio of guys laughing about some "kung fu masters". Look into the alley of Little Asia at the couple walking. Select "Hm, counterattacking after someone breaks your guard."

  • Essence of Loin Reaving - On the Eastern Rooftops, you'll find a cop, a kidnapper, and a kid, in the southeast part near the exit to Pink Alley. Focus on the lady cop and select "Right in the jewels. That's gotta hurt..."

Saejima
  • Essence of Bell Ringing - Head to the Underground Parking Lot and go the mid-south part. Look for area #104 and a black car with a guy sitting inside. Focus on him. Choose "Guy slammed straight into the wall."

  • Essence of Heavy Weapons - Go to the Docks and focus on the dude in the oil drum. Choose "Somethin' that heavy's sure to do damage."

  • Essence of Clotheslining - Go to the Nakamichi Alley Poppo. You'll see a guy harassing a girl. Focus on them. Choose "The momentum helped him land a big hit."

  • Essence of Smashing - Go to the west entrance of Little Asia, just south of Beam. You'll see a trio of guys laughing about some "kung fu masters". Look into the alley of Little Asia at the couple walking. Select "Damn, she kicked clean through his guard."
Tanimura
  • Essence of Guillotine Heel - Head to the Club SEGA at Theater Square. Look at the UFO Catchers and focus on the male of the couple. Choose "Hm, he hit one toy with the other to make it fall."

  • Essence of Ball and Chain - Go to the Hotel District south of the Taxi Stand. Instead of focusing on the girl, focus on the homeless guy at the vending machines. Choose "Backwards between the legs?"

  • Essence of Skull-Crushing - From the Taxi Stand at the end of Park Boulevard, go west and focus on the girl singing. Choose "He got clocked hard when he was off guard..."
Kyriu
  • Essence of Merciless Throwing - On the Eastern Rooftops, you'll find a cop, a kidnapper, and a kid, in the southeast part near the exit to Pink Alley. Focus on the lady cop and select "She really gave him the ol' one-two."

  • Essence of Taunting - Go to the Nakamichi Alley Poppo. You'll see a guy harassing a girl. Focus on them. Choose "A strong hit after a taunt, huh?"
