What is demo?
Demo - it is a recording of your entire game that is saved to a .dem file. On most servers the demo is recorded automatically, however, there are exceptions. There are two effective ways to record a demo in CS 1.6: using the CS 1.6 client itself and using HLTV. Let's take a look at both of these methods.
Demo recording in CS 1.6 client
This method is quite simple: you need to go to the server where you want to record a demo or start a game with bots. Then you need to open the console, write the record <name> command in it, for example, record csdemo, and click "Confirm."

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The command itself should be displayed in the console, and the message recording to csdemo will also appear. This will mean that the recording has started, and to complete it, you need to enter the stop command or simply disconnect from the current game. The demo will be saved in the cstrike folder and you can watch it later.

Recording a demo with HLTV
Record using HLTV in the event that you want to record the game of all players on the server from different angles, then HLTV will help you. To do this, find the hltv.exe file in the root folder of the counter and run it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In the window that opens, enter the connect command.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If on the server players are allowed to record a demo across HLTV, then you will see an inscription about a successful connection, otherwise your connection request will be rejected. Next, you need to enter the familiar

Viewing the demo in CS 1.6 using the console
First, make sure once again that the demo you need is in the cstrike folder, and remember it, or copy its name. After that, start the game, open the console, then you can enter 2 commands of your choice and press Enter, or the "confirm" button:
- viewdemo name.dem - allows you to rewind the recording, speed up or slow down, which is very convenient when using, using the appropriate panel, which has buttons:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And there is a second option for viewing the demo, with the help - playdemo name.dem - allows you to watch all the players and listen to conversations on the radio if the demo was recorded using HLTV. Only without rewind bar.

I hope I helped you with recording / watching a demo, if so please like this tutorial. See you on the battlefields :)

As far as I remember, there should be a blockvoice quar or something like that in the config, and you need to set it to a negative value, that is, 0. And the voice chat should record.

when you say that HLTV allows you to listne to conversations on the radio, you mean the radio commands or actual voice chat from players?

If you meant when you already recorded the demo and are watching it, then if you did not record with the help of HLTV, then you can only watch your camera, all your actions. And if through HLTV, then you can watch all the players and fly around the map. And yes, without HLTV, all your actions, even observing the player, are recorded.
