So you want to play DDLC

So your friends have been talking about this game non-stop and i mean, who can blame them? This is an amazing game that you should try out! Or so they say. They have been nagging you to finally sit down and play this game and after possible years of bothering, nagging and pleading, you decided to try it out with no high expectations whatsoever (Shame on you (/j or /joking)).

This guide is just a few pointers of what to look out for before playing if you haven't already!

A fair warning!

You know those warnings in the trailers and in the game's description? Yeah, please take note of that. The game is not safe to play for anyone with anxiety, depression or suicidal thoughts. Please do not risk playing this game if you aren't good with psychological horror or gore.

Go bake some cupcakes, ride a bike, go on a hike, remember to hydrate! It'll be good for you! I'm proud of you for getting out of bed and going through life because it can be so hard for some and life is just a challenge in general. So even if you play this game, don't forget to take breaks! Go to bed at a reasonable time, hang out with friends or maybe spend some time alone! Whatever makes you happy! (Just please don't do anything illegal!!) (/g or /genuine)

A few things to stay away from!

Now, let's say you've gotten this far without being spoiled for the game (How? No clue) and let's be honest, who wants do actually be spoiled? No one. Here are a few steps you can take to prevent being spoiled:

• Try not to search anything up about the game. As much as you want to see memes for the early parts of the game, you'll only get memes that spoil the game.

• Don't look at the community tab on Steam, more importantly don't look at the Art tab yet. Yes, the art is phenomenal but please beat the game first. Most people don't put spoiler tags on art.

• Just avoid anything that might spoil the game for you in general!

Gameplay Basics

This should all be explained in the game but just in case, you can forward text by clicking the left mouse button or the space bar. At the bottom of the text box, there will be a few buttons that can do several things! For example:

• Auto fast-forwards text that you've already seen but it only works in that save file. If you re-install the game, you won't be able to fast forward the text.

• Save and Load lets you, well, Save and Load files! Make sure when you are saving or loading to double check what the pop-up says to make sure you aren't loading a past file instead of saving on top of it! Trust me, it's a common mistake. I've done it more times than i can count.

• History shows you what was said previously but i know that some people can't see what it says, the same goes for some poems unfortunately so if this is the case, i'd suggest after playing the game, looking up the poems to read through them not to miss them!

• Settings lets you change the settings! (Well, duh.) You can change the volume of certain parts in the game. I haven't messed with it much so i can't remember what most of the options there are.

Conclusion

DDLC is an amazing game you should totally try out if you have the chance. If you can't get it for whatever reason, i'd suggest watching some people playing through the game on Youtube! A few people i enjoyed watching were GTLive, Jacksepticeye, Markaplier and surprisingly, Pewdiepie also played the game back in the day! (/g or /genuine)

If you want to watch someone play it instead, that's cool! If you'd rather not play the game that's cool too! Just don't attack others for what they chose to do because that's just not nice and you could be hurting someone more than you think. (/g or /genuine) (Twitter could learn from this one!
