Halo CE map installation
I won't teach you how to do it, but you can see how to install maps from this guide. You will need some base files from Custom Edition and might need an extra program named "Mek" for later. It is all extremely well explained on that guide.

The only files you need to revert are the map files. You can leave the bitmap, loc and sounds map files on the regular MCC folder and you'll be able to play online just fine, so there is no need to remove those.

As a note - custom menus will not work in MCC. Maps such as Airlock Firefight included a special "music" tab on it's menu which is now inaccessible. That's the only map I remember that has a special built-in menu, but if you remember any other map that does this - it'll be unavailable as of now.
Single Player Maps
While most multiplayer maps work fine, several single player maps don't work correctly or break the game. For now, MCC only supports maps made with the original SDK, so maps made with external software that require external dlls or script files might not work here in MCC even if they worked on Custom Edition.

INSTALLATION:
You should replace singleplayer maps only with campaign maps (a10, a30, a50 ... d20, d40) and should be launched as campaign levels.

Pending:
* Full Lumoria Campaign

Work Fine:
* Firefight Airlock[hce.halomaps.org]
* Firefight Fissurefall[hce.halomaps.org]

Clunky:
* Ascension Firefight Beta[hce.halomaps.org] - The HUD does not scale correctly

Unplayable:
* Firefight Infinity[hce.halomaps.org] - Broken start screen, tried as multiplayer map but crashed
* Demise[hce.halomaps.org] - Will launch and you'll be able to play until the first door opens
These two launch, but require you to press a button to start but it doesn't register
* Firefight Amnesia[hce.halomaps.org]
* Firefight Descent[hce.halomaps.org]

Crash the game:
* Firefight Relic[hce.halomaps.org]
* Ivory Tower Firefight V7[hce.halomaps.org]
* Gephyrophobian Firefight V2[hce.halomaps.org]
* Firefight Containment[hce.halomaps.org]

* Bloodgulch Firefight[hce.halomaps.org]
Multiplayer Maps
Some halo maps might not work at first. You should then use the tool named "Mek" to try and fix those maps as mentioned in the tutorial.

To play these maps, you must repace them with a multiplayer map (beavercreek.map, bloodgulch.map, etc). After that, you must load them from the multiplayer menu. The maps should be playable online with friends if all of you replaced the same map.

As a note, in original Custom Edition the AI did not sync through multiplayer. I haven't tested this, but just take that in mind when playing multiplayer maps with AI with friends.

I made a reddit post about the Lumoria campaign. To put it shortly: It works in solo with no issues but co-op has a few bugs that can be dealt with.

@s3anboy - I'm not really sure how the "compatibility" works - what I mention is that if the maps have any kind of extra .dll or script file along with the .map file you will not be able to play. For now, most of the usable maps are the maps tagged as "multiplayer" an "singleplayer" maps; even though there are "custom multiplayer" and "custom singleplayer" maps that work - most don't

And the Mek on SP maps - I bet I'm doing something wrong, I didn't know the tool existed before yesterday. Using the map as the guide mentioned on the top on SP maps will cause them to lose any kind of input (including menus, you won't be able to exit) but seem to work on MP maps

"MCC only supports maps made with the original SDK"

This isn't actually the case, as long as they were designed for the original game, it doesn't particularly matter what tools they were made with, in fact maps built with the official tools are usually more prone to errors compared to newer maps built with invader.

"As a note: You should never use "Meke" with single player maps - this will cause all controls to fail. "Meke" should only be used for fixing multiplayer maps."

It's M-E-K not "meke/meke" and if it's somehow breaking your controls you're doing something wrong.
